First playoff games are today

Native Americans @ Seahawks

Jaguars @ Steelers

Who's ya got ?

I can't see the Redskins winning in Seattle.

However, in light of Willie Parker's injury and Fred Taylor's previous performance against Pittsburgh I see a potential upset in that one.

I have a question for all you US based boys. Have followed NFL for 20 odd years (Raiders fan unfortunately). With the Patriots remarkable run, is there genuine respect in the country for them or do a lot hate them a la Man Yoo and Chelski over here...

There is a genuine hate for them, very similar to that of Man Yoo.   Arrogance, a grumpy twat of a coach and a hint of cheating.....the parallels are uncanny.

Thanks usav. Not just over here it happens then !!  I don't much care for them myself.

And what of the Raiders ? Do they still dislike them as a horrible side or just pity them as they are just poor also rans these days ?

Definitely the latter.   The initmidation factor of the fans and the players has long gone, I'm afraid.

That's a very interesting point.

Any time I've been to the States (apart from Dallas, obviously) I've been really looked down on whenever the NFL and me supporting the Cowboys has come into a conversation. Even if I try and justify it by saying I've followed them for 25 years and through plenty of lean spells it just doesn't wash.

Once in Florida I was looking at a Michael Irvin signed helmet and the shop assistant said "He was probably in jail when he signed that". We had a bit of a chat and he likened supporting the Cowboys to following Man U! There just seems to be an instant "downer" on following the Cowboys much like when someone says they support Man Utd - you just feel an instant dislike!

Anyway, Cowboys to stomp on the Giants next Sunday and then give those Packers a good seeing to. More than likely followed by glorious defeat to the Pats in the Bowl.

I'm a Patriots fan and I couldn't give a shit what anyone think of them. They have probably the best offence ever assembled and thats credit to the grumpy twat of a coach.

Well I lived in Washington for the last 6 years so obviously the Cowboys are really popular there!

Yes, the Cowboys are "America's Team" - it makes you want to puke as much as the "Theatre of Dreams"
