ESPN ranked the NFL owners today on their website, here is what they had to say about Mr Lerner:

Quote
22. Randy Lerner, Browns
Unlike the Glazers, who bought Man U because it was a shrewd business move, Lerner -- at least as I see it -- bought Aston Villa last summer because he has an incredible passion for footie. That's cool, unless you happen to be a Browns fan. Lerner, who lives in New York, is more likely to turn up across the pond than he is at Browns headquarters, where a source says general manager Phil Savage -- having prevailed in a power struggle against former team president John Collins late in the '05 season -- is now feuding with coach Romeo Crennel. It sounds like somebody needs to be yellow-carded, but who knows if Lerner is even paying attention? The Browns had a promising draft, but this is a dysfunctional franchise.

Get Robbo from VillaTalk on the job pronto  :-$

Don't you think having his head up Randy's arse is punishment enough?

Yeah, I was going to post that today, you beat me to it.

Alanata should bench him for the coming season and if found guilty fire him immediately.  Disgusting is the only word.

Better still, they should put him in a ring with the a couple of the guys from the UFC and let him duke it out with them til one of them snuffs it. See how he likes it.

I think a match up against this guy who did this would be appropriate...

Latest news on Michael Vick and the dog fighting charges

Looks like he's going to take a plea bargain. However it appears that he'll still face some jail time.

Vick has always been a quick and illusive runner and will need both those attributes to avoid "Bubba" in the showers !! (insert clenched buttocks emoticon here)

I have got some sympathy for Vick regarding this. There are people in the NFL who have beat their wives, stored an arsenal of guns in their home and covered up for murderers and yet there's been far more uproar over Vick's involvement with animal cruelty.

I was thinking this, as we're playing Bolton at 1:30, would be good to meet up and watch that before hand with other villa fans.

If anyone has two spare tickets that they don't want, I'd give them a very good home. Managed to persuade the missus that spending the £300ish needed to get the tickets and get down there is justified, but was unsuccessful in the two ballots. I'm now starting to consider eBay but I'm a little reluctant after all the scare mongering about cancelling tickets.

Still, there's always the third pre-sale coming up, just pulled the following off NFLUK if it's of use to anyone....

The third ticket sales period will take place in the second week of September, with a public general sale featuring a very small number of tickets likerly to follow at the end of that month.

Exact details will be released at a later date on nfluk.com.
