Really gutted for the Lions. They'll be reliving that third quarter for a while. Think I want the 49ers to win the SB but it's a bit of a meh one from my point of view.

Can understand if you watched NFL in the 1980s, why you'd dislike the 49ers.

They were extremely successful for a long period.

I started watching 20 years ago and they have a lot of Bears links and always beat the Packers. So a great bunch of lads in my view.

Whereas the Patriots are the spawn of Satan.

Yeah, I get that, too.

I guess my dad introduced the Niners to me in the 80's, and I became obsessed with Montana and Rice when playing John Madden on the Mega drive in the early 90's.

To beat the Chiefs though, we're going to have to be a lot better than we were against the Packers and Lions. The comebacks were epic, but the Chiefs are so damn clinical. And better defensively.

The stars seem to be aligning for the 49ers, but I too will be rooting for the Chiefs. The 49ers won it seemingly every single year when I was younger, and usually in the most one sided finals, so I still don't really want to see them win again in the near future.

Same here. When we were choosing our Teams in the late 80s, the ones who had the 49ers were unbearable and I can't take any fan of theirs seriously any longer.

Same here*, can't bear the 'Niners so hope the Kansas City Swifts win.

*Apart from Nik who's sound.

😂 I'm honoured

The Lions were excellent. Their running game superb, and they'll be back, I'm sure.

I must say I'm quite curious about the 49ers hate. Not that any of us Niners give a shit of course.

We think it's odd that anyone would even consider supporting the Chiefs and their wanky little cheerleader. They're basically the new Patriots.

I don't find Mahomes and Andy Reid unlikeable at all, unlike Brady and Belichick. And I like Taylor Swift too, and will see her in concert this year (wearing one of my Slayer t shirts of course)

Mon the 49ers!

Not sure how the Lions messed that up. The Aiyuk catch off the defender's helmet was amazing.

Incredible mate. Aiyuk is my favourite player on this Niners team.

A fantastic comeback, and I've only just recovered. Doing tequila shots after the match killed me.

Which team is playing in Home colours?

Anyway the niners have no chance as the game is fixed so the Chiefs win and then Taylor Swift can announce her backing of Biden. Or so MAGA twatters believe anyway.

Maybe a 49ers win wouldn't be so bad after all.

I'd like the 49ers to win but Chiefs have the better QB and coach so will just edge it.

That's about where I am. Unfortunately. But you never know.

Then again, the Chiefs and the refs love each other and now that I've seen who the officials are for the match, bollocks.

I also see Taylor Swift is playing in Tokyo before the super bowl and plans to fly back straight after her concert:

Hmmm, let's see, where did I put that fire extinguisher I was saving for Greasy last summer?

Chiefs have that Patriots of 10 years ago feeling to them.  The best quarterback and the best coach in the league, combined with some key players at key positions and a bunch of average guys that play the system.

In fairness the same can be applied to every successful team at any given time.
They’ll all have 4 or 5 top players with the rest playing well in the coaches system.

Maybe the Chiefs, and Patriots before, selected the right ‘average’ players in the draft which has prolonged their success?

Team playing in white has won 16 of the last 19 Super Bowls....

We didn't win the last one we were in though. I'm still irritated by Jimmy G now.

But he's so handsome and loves Da Bears/hates the Packers.
