Put the sport channels on and saw some match was 54-51. Assume it must have been some Arena League nonsense.

How did the NFL go?

So top 3 in College as expected but the Sooners nick the 4th spot and make the CFB play offs. Then again probably get our arses handed to us by Crimson Tide in the Orange Bowl.

Great win for Dallas

Karim Hunt released by Chiefs!!
Could put a dent in their Super Bowl aspirations, but, I don't think they had much choice

Exciting game, though. Not as exciting as Da Bears, though we still messed it up in the end. Our score to take it to overtime was fucking ballsy.

I'm a Bears fan too, but the drive in overtime was dreadful - three fumbles was it?  Trubisky is badly missed.

I keep bumping into Packers fans at Villa games... are there that many of us? I may have to do some half and half scarves at this rate 😉

Yeah Chase Daniel has done ok overall in the 2 games but you can see why he's basically a career back up.

Beàrs to finish 10-6 I think which hopefully betters The Vikings.

That type of play must work one time out of a hundred

Really ? I know precious little about NFL, but I only recently learned that you can pass it multiple times on one play (always assumed there must be some sort of "one pass" or "only the QB can pass" rule and always found it surprising that they don't pass it more. Is the ball trickier to handle than a rugby ball ? What other considerations come into play ?

It's a risk/reward thing. There's often occasions when a little pop-pass / offload as seen in every rugby game looks obvious to me but it almost never happens.

In rugby, if such a pass is dropped, there's plenty of players who are waiting to pounce on the loose ball or tackle the player who picks it up.. In the NFL, the other side would probably scoop the ball up and run back the other way almost unopposed.

In the NFL, it's just not part of the normal way that the game is played and is only used as a desperation tactic.

I've always wondered why the NFL doesn't run the option as much as it is used in the NCAA
