The one thing that the American anthem has going for it, is that it's not the British anthem. That one is terrible.

It doesn't help that the NFL (and to some extent now, MLB) does so much paid patriotism.

What looks like support/celebration of the military by teams/leagues is mainly just a thinly disguised recruitment campaign paid for my the Armed Forces.

I think the final roster cuts (75 to 53 players) are at 4pm Eastern Time on Saturday.

So for the Bears about 10pm I would think. Wonder which of our 25 Tight-Ends will actually make the roster!

Apart from the news stories that have popped up on Deadspin, I've paid no attention to the NFL pre-season.

This is what happens when you're a Raiders fan and know that's it'll all turn out to be crap anyway

Think you'll have a better season than us, although I'm hopeful that our Defence will be a lot better this year.

Our Offensive Line and Secondary looks worrying.

Not yet but I don't usually receive them until about 10 days before, so not too worried.

Need to figure out where to park for the game at HQ. Maybe somewhere in Hounslow

I'd recommend The Stoop, Harlequins ground. 5 minute walk.

Was thinking a somewhere a bit further out in order to avoid the traffic

Vikings trade a 2017 1st Round Pick and 2018 4th Round Pick to the Eagles, for QB Sam Bradford.

Assume Wentz will start straight away for the Eagles then, although I thought he was injured.

Was shocked when the Packers cut Josh Sitton and I'm delighted that we've picked him up.

Even with letting Slauson go we look pretty strong at Guard now, not so amazing at Centre and woeful at Tackle.

But if a thriller to open the season; a rematch of the Super Bowl.

Panthers were a point behind with a 50 yard field goal to win and kicker Gano put it wide.
