What's the difference between all this and the hated 39th game?

There is no British equivalent of the NFL. If Americans, Japanese or Australians want to watch a "soccer" match they can do so in their own leagues which could, feasibly, become a genuine rival to the Premier League one day. It's unrealistic to assume that BAFL will ever compete with NFL. Also, there's no international game worthy of consideration so the only chance to see the top stars live is via NFL games.

It is a game taken from the season schedule rather than one added, so it doesn't artificially change the outcome of the season in the same way that it might if we had to play a 39th game against Man U while Sunderland played an extra game against Norwich. In any case it's not quite so vital as you can't get relegated and teams have vaguely similar budgets so you can always compete again the following season.

Most of the teams get decent support here. So it's not the same as us giving up a home match to play Chelsea in Seoul in front of 80,000 Korean Chelsea fans.

Those are the best reasons I can think of ATM.

Plus I can't be bothered to fork out to go to the US to watch a game Dave.    :)

International Series games for 2016 announced at 14:30 on Sky Sports News, assume they're having the UK NFL game on to say who will be playing, where and on what dates.

London 2016

Week 7 - TBA @ Rams (Twickenham)

Week 8 - Washingtonfootballteam @ Bengals

Quote
The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts in an AFC South division matchup in Week 4 on Sunday, October 2, at Wembley Stadium; in Week 7 on Sunday, October 23, in the first-ever NFL game at Twickenham Stadium, the St. Louis Rams will host the NFC East team that finishes in the same spot in the standings as the Rams do in the NFC West based on the NFL's scheduling formula; and in Week 8 on Sunday, October 30, the Cincinnati Bengals will play their first international game when they host the Washington Racistmonikerdeleteds at Wembley.

Tempted by the Rams game as I wouldn't mind adding Twickenham to my list of grounds.

That was the one I fancied the most.

Will probably be against the Eagles or Cowboys. I would support the Rams in that case.

It could be any of the NFC East teams, that division will be won by whichever team is least shit.

Likely to be only one playoff team out if the six (maybe five) coming over and that's the Bungles.

NFL and RFU must be hoping that he Cowboys finish even with the Rams

I know that it's ultimately a pointless gesture but I'm tempted to write to the RFU, Wembley and the Mayor of London's office complaining about the Washington Racistmonikerdeleteds playing over here.

Is anyone else noticing a worrying similarity between the behaviour of  Jack Grealish and Johnny Manziel?

Pats have now won 10 games for 13 straight years. Next longest current streak (Packers?) is three years

A change to my NCAA playoff lineup.

I've just remembered that if they both win next week, Sparty and the Hawkeyes will have to play-off for the Big 10 Championship. Whichever team loses will probably drop out of the play-off lineup

Therefore if the Sooners beat State, they're probably still in the hunt because the Big 12 doesn't have a championship game.

Clemson
Alabama
Winner of Michigan State v Iowa
Sooners or Irish

Haven't the committee just announced there latest rankings and have put Sooners at 3, you've got to say If they beat OSU then I can't see them dropping out even though Big12 doesn't have a Championship game. From what I've read they seem to consider beating Baylor, TCU and then OSU back to back is enough to get them in and you'd have to say it's good scheduling if they pull it off. I think ND will have to beat Stanford comfortably to change the committees mind.

I thought the 49ers had about ten 10-game winning seasons? Maybe they had loads but 1 poorer year in between.

How bout them Cowboys. Oops, wrong decade.

I don't even think we'll get 3rd in the NFC East now to play the Rams at Twickenham.

To finish behind teams as dreadful as the Eagles, Redskins and Giants is some going, injuries or not. Maybe this will prompt JJ to get a proper football man to be the GM....and more likely, not.
