Wembley was great fun yesterday, a real event.

I did yell out "Are you Villa in disguise?" after one of the Lions' numerous cock ups

I am confident in saying that amongst all the Lions jerseys, Chiefs jerseys and other assorted NFL jerseys, that I was the only one wearing a Toledo Mudhens AAA Baseball jersey

It'll be interesting to see what teams come over next year. The Jags are already signed up to be one of the home teams and it looks like the Washington Football Team might be another.

Just noticed, for Freeview telly owners, next week's Green Bay-Carolina game is on Pick (or Pick+1 if you need to allow suitable time to get back from the Villa).

Good spot. I had no idea Pick had games.

Pick is on Sky too btw (channel 152).

Sounds good to me. I'll never go to a rugby international so it's my only chance to get that ground. The surrounding area must surely be nicer than scummy Wembley?

Didn't realise Sky were showing it. Actually I thought I was at work until 8pm on Sunday and would miss a chunk of it but just realised that I'm not, so that's made me happy. Hate missing Packers games, they're my best chance of getting that winning feeling on a weekend these days. Didn't even get that this weekend - Denver were very impressive and fully deserving of the win.

It is; but at least Wembley has three tube stations, a railway station and easy access to the A40

Yes, looks like the Redskins Washington FC, will have a game here, which is interesting as they play the NFC North teams next year. May mean the Packers finally having a game in the UK.

I was next to a load of Maltese lads at Wembley. I told the guy next to me I was a Villa fan. He told his mate who seemed to receive the news with a mixture of disbelief and disgust.

I asked if they were from Valletta and they looked at me the same way I would look at someone if I'd told them that I was from Britain and then they'd asked if I was from London  :)   From Birkirkara, so at least I knew a footy team from there.

The Streatham Ice Hockey club also has the same racist nickname.

Really ? How have I lived in London for so long and not known that ? Washington at least has some historical context to partly justify it, but what the hell is Streatham's excuse ?

Theteamwhoshallnotbementioned were originally the Boston Braves (doesn't appear to be as offensive as long as the logo/marketing is done properly), then became the Boston Racistmonikerdeleteds to differentiate themselves from the baseball team of the same name. They then moved to the DC area.

Without looking it up, I'm also not sure what Streatham's rational could be for still using the name.

I'm going to assume they heard of the NFL team and thought it sounded cool.

On the NFL UK Forum they had a thread about what an NFL team based in London could be called.

I quite liked the 'American Werewolves in London' suggestion.

Regarding last night's game;
Spoiler for Hiden:
Glad I didn't take Eifert out of my fantasy team, which I'd thought of doing - 3 touchdowns!
