I'm aware of that, I just think all the rule changes are bollocks. The kick return is one of the most interesting parts of the game. Even my girlfriend, who has no interest in NFL whatsoever, looked up when somebody returned a kick for a touchdown and said "oh, that was exciting".

If they're concerned, allow thicker padding for returners or something. Don't ruin the game.

Kick Returns are great and, off the top of my head, there's no injuries on that type of play that come to mind.

A Wide Receiver running a crossing pattern in front of the Safeties in in far more danger.

In Bears news, Hester has signed up with the Falcons. Pleased that he managed to find a team.

Corey Wootton has gone to the Vikings, which is disappointing.

Jared Allen's been in talks with the Seahawks but there's no deal yet

Aaron Rodgers sounds happy about the guys we've signed, though I suppose that was inevitable. I have no idea whether they're any good. Signing that ex-Bears player on a free sounds like we're trying to sort the defence out which we desperately need to do.

Peppers is still going to be a good Defensive Lineman, it just would have cost us a fortune to keep him on. He's not a top level DL anymore, but still pretty good.

He's not bad for the odd down and I suppose knowing the Bears' playbook will be a useful asset at Green Bay.

You could say the same for Wootton at the Vikings.

From what I read, you guys signed someone on big money and keeping Peppers on would have pushed you over the salary cap.

I was a bit surprised by that one, hopefully he can still do a job.

Seems like it is only really likely to be two years guaranteed. I like the signing, will be an immediate upgrade on what we have, will hopefully help the development of potential draft picks, and will annoy the Vikings.

I can't remember a Free Agency when there was as much in-division trading as there has been in the NFC North this year. Musical chairs in the Midwest.

Good signing for them I reckon. Quarter-Backs can carry on to be in their late-thirties so expect him to be there for a while.

Ralph Wilson died earlier in the week

The last of the original AFL founders who still owned his team
