Watched all of the play-offs apart from the Chargers @ Bengals, which I struggled to sum up enthusiasm for.

Good games I thought, most were surprisingly close.

Can't help thinking that the Cheatriots will beat the Colts though, they usually do. I am supporting 'anyone but them'.

Still don't think that Kaepernick is that great a QB and nearly threw away the game against the Packers, was lucky not to be picked off. He lacks accuracy, but does pick up important yards with his legs.

When they were saying temperature was 5 degrees I wondered what the fuss was about. Now I realise it's Fahrenheit then fair play to them. Those bleachers must have been cold! Congratulations to the Californian teams anyway for winning away.

Keep in mind that all of these stadiums are built in places that are usually available for one reason or another (i.e. no one else wanted to build there), and are usually on a river, lake, abandoned lot and have TREMENDOUS windchill.

I have been to eagles games in 32 F in a winter coat and honestly have felt, with the wind, as if it was 3 F out.  When people invite me to games at Giants stadium I usually don't go because of it.  I went to see USA/Argentina in March (MARCH!!) and Giants stadium (in NJ) felt like it was 10 F.  Everyone was in winter hats, gloves, coats, with awful windburn.

I am a big fan of getting rid of turf and having real grass (with a mandatory 1 inch blade) in the NFL, but imagine getting tackled, sacked or piled on while playing on real grass/real dirt when it is 5 degrees out all week?It must feellike hitting concrete.

Someone should tell the Packers that their pitch would look a lot better with green sand on it

Or with a team that's not the packers on it...

Shame that Hyde dropped the interception. That was a game changer.

Yep, couldn't believe it when he dropped that. As bad as Carberry! To also allow Kaepernick to run for a first down on 3rd and 8 was pretty weak.

Still, playoffs were a bonus anyway after having Rodgers out for so long, not to mention the other key injuries. If we can just keep the likes of Finlay and Matthews fit, and get a couple of strong linebackers to supplement Clay, then we'll have a great chance next year.

Lacy is a beast and Rodgers is the best QB in the league, and has serious weapons at WR and TE.

I was worried about our defence and containing Kaepernick before the game. Too often we allow teams a 1st down when it looks like the opposition are going to have to punt.

A lot of work needed on the defence. Clay always seems to be getting injured so we've got to plan as though he's not available and treat him as a bonus when he is fit.

It was a bonus to get into the Playoffs and we were close to beating the 49'ers.

I think you're confusing it with the US response to a nuclear crisis in which Gene Hackman had a roll <sic> in Crimson Tide.

I've had a soft spot for Auburn since the days of Bo Jackson.

Shame that it didn't work out for them last night. Still, they beat Alabama which is probably what means the most to Auburn fans.

I watched a thing about Marcus Allen the other day and I think Bo Jackson was on that, if they both played for the Raiders later.

I did check to see who won out of Florida State and Auburn, Christ I'm getting sad.

That was "Marcus Allen - A Football Life"

Back in 1982/83 my dad was working for Xerox in El Segundo, close to the Raiders training facility.

I doubt that there were many (if any) other 13 year olds in the UK who had a Marcus Allen jersey at that time.

I've just bought myself a new Marcus jersey to wear to the Raiders game at Wembley next season.

Here's the Bo Jackson "ESPN 30 for 30 " doc

The only thing I really know about Bo Jackson is that he was bloody fast!
