It felt like I was watching the Chelsea game. Absolutely dreadful.

I know the quarterback is important but I didn't realise quite how important Rodgers was to the Packers until they lost him. When a QB gets sacked as much as Flynn last night is it actually his fault? I could see he couldn't do a lot about the safety last night but generally would Rodgers have been any better or did his offense let him down?

Rodgers would be better at reading the defence and knowing what plays to call and which players he could check down to. They seem to have a pretty poor Offensive Line as well, which any QB would struggle with.

To be fair, the Lions have a very tough Defensive Line, easily the best in the NFC North.

Detroit dominated them so much both sides of the ball it was embarrassing.

Detroit are easily the best all-round team in the division, but Rodgers can make the Packers compete. The Lions are stopping themselves from winning a lot of games, with unnecessary turnovers.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for Detroit, not sure why, memories of Barry Sanders perhaps. Also it seems to be a city that's had it a bit rough so good luck to them. It would have been nice if the game last night was more of a spectacle though. You knew what would happen when Green Bay got the ball, 3 and out. At least the safety was a novelty.

Incidentally this is the first season I've followed closely since the late 90s and I'm really enjoying it. I was so chuffed there were some games last night for example. Far more preferable than the Europa League. Or the Champions League. In fact they should have games every night of the week!

Rodgers has had to deal with a poor offensive line pretty much since he came into the team in 08. He's still managed to be, IMO the best QB in the league in that timeframe.

Could well be and he was still doing well with most of his receivers and tight-ends out before he got injured. The running game had been a bit better this year though. About as good as the Packers have ran the ball since Ahman Green 10 years ago.

FFS Bears. Why go for a long FG in Overtime when you are on 2nd and 7? Move it closer. We still had four minutes left so I do not know why there was a need to take it then.

Edit: And the Vikings get into the same position and they move it closer on their remaining downs to make a nice easy kick. Such a fucked up call.

Ah well, probably best that we don't get into the play-offs with this defence anyway.... Still strange that Gould missed, he's usually so accurate and it was less than 50 yards away, in a Dome.

Kept hearing about that Auburn win against Alabama during the NFL matches. I've only ever seen Da Bears score a touchdown like that before and that was when it was so windy that the ball blew backwards.

New Orleans Saints under pressure now, playing the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers keep on winning.

I find the Jets a very strange team, capable of beating the best and have a very good defence, but cack on offence and tend to lose to crap teams.

Uproar at the end of the game between the New York Football Giants and the Washington Football Team.

The Washington Football Team thought they had a First Down and the chains were moved but the on field official signaled third down. Shanahan wanted to challenge the on field ruling but says that an official told him not to bother as it was a First Down. A play was run and the on field official then signaled Fourth Down.

All a bit confusing

nope. I can't be arsed watching the Bills and especially when they are playing naff teams like Atlanta. I've been to one game in Toronto, Bills vs Steelers in a pre-season game when they first started to play here. I believe there is a general misconception that if Toronto had an NFL team that people would suddenly come in their thousands to watch. Everyone here who follows the NFL already has a team they like, so it's not like I or any Cowboys, Packers, Bills fan etc etc would suddenly change my allegiance and support a new Toronto team.

And as for that fat fuck. I wouldn't be surprised if they had to slaughter an extra farm load of chickens knowing he was going to attend. I imagine the hot sauce on those wings are laced with some white material too. Last year I believe, he and his marginally less fat brother decided to go on a diet. It was all PR off course. Rob Ford actually put on weight. Useless idiot.
