First time ever that I haven't watched life or at least watched the game "as live" before heading to work.

I've only had time to see the highlights

Come on guys.  First time I've had to google the result the day after.
Nobody into the Ravens, then?

I was watching it until the lights went out and saw that incredible bit where the guy at one end caught a kick off from the other end and then ran through everybody to take the ball back to where it started.  That was a bit special.

Looking at the result I'd say that the 49ers were the ones who gained the most from the delay as they were left for dead just before the 'power outage'. They managed to regroup and come back but justice was done, just about, for the final score.

Up the Ravens!

I don't mind the Ravens. Would've preferred to see the Niners win as I generally back the NFC team in the Superbowl but either would've been deserving champions. Mainly pleased that it was a thrilling game as it looked as good as over till... well, when you went to bed Lou!

Just delighted that neither the Fudge Packers or the Cheatriots made it.

Bears to win it all next year hopefully (yeah right...).

My work colleague is a niners fan. I probably supported them more in this one then the others because of it.

I only saw the 2nd quarter live. Turned it onto something else for the HT show and flicked to check the score before sleeping and the lights were already out. When I realised we weren't going to have a repeat of the last time people were in the Superdome in the dark, and the BBC were not going to put the score up in anyway, I turned the telly off and found out the result in the morning.

They almost repeated the Falcons match but had left themselves too much to do, although it would have been funny if the failed 2nd quarter field goal fake would have made the difference.

It was a fantastic superbowl. Really enjoyed it. Getting the girlfriend into watching it now too. Some great plays. The 108 yard return was incredible!!

He ran 108 yards in 11 seconds (probably less on an accurate clock), with a couple of side steps and full padding on.  Now that is impressive and shows you what kind of athletes some of those guys are.

Kick-offs like that are great and all the more reason why they shouldn't have changed the kick-offs to make them more boring!

Spoke to a Niners fan who is mates with a Ravens fan. Whoever's team lost had to get a tattoo of the winners....

There's now a suggestion that kick-offs will be scrapped altogether and replaced with a "4th and 15" scenario.  The team would them have to choose whether to take the safe option and punt or try to make the 15 yards.

They really do hate kickers in the NFL....

I always thought that special teams added an interesting extra dimension to the game myself.

Yeah really hope this doesn't happen. It's an integral part of the game. They changed it once to make it safer. Why change it and remove it all together?

After some mature reflection with a glass of sauvignon blanc I have to agree that a closer game was probably more exciting than the rout it was turning out to be.

The 49ers.  What a romantic name.  Don't actually have a team I follow but I just choose a side on the Superbowl. My favourite player was the big guy on the Ravens with major facepaint.

Hoping Villa could sign him.

Getting rid of kick-offs would really raise the question - how is this game still called football?

Because as with Rugby, Gaelic and Aussie rules, you are playing the game without a horse.
