I assume that this will be reduced on appeal but the NFL has brought the hammer down on the Saints, Sean Payton and Gregg Williams for bounty-gate.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7718136/sean-payton-new-orleans-saints-banned-one-year-bounties
Quote
The NFL handed down sweeping and unprecedented punishment Wednesday for bounties paid out on big hits, suspending New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton without pay for next season and indefinitely banning the team's former defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams, who now works for the St. Louis Rams.

Payton is the first head coach suspended by the league for any reason. He is accused of trying to cover up a system of extra cash payouts NFL commissioner Roger Goodell called "particularly unusual and egregious" and "totally unacceptable."

Look like the Saints want the Big Tuna to cover for Sean Payton whilst the latter is banned

a few quick things:

1) No way Bill Parcels has any interest in that saints gig.  He wants to be alive when he gets into the hall of fame, and he's already cutting it close.  He won't wait another 5 years by taking this lose/lose job

2) I have never seen so many people who are so against one person as every NFL fan seems to be with Tebow.  In all honesty, as a fan of The U, I always hated him, but the fact of the matter is he seems to be a nice guy who doesn't really think he's that great, but wins.  So I am going to declare right here and right now that I am now a "fan" of Little Baby Jesus aka Tim Tebow, if only because I am sure that behind his too nice exterior, he is a deranged, s&m, drug addicted maniac.  He has to be... right?

3) The Eagles have actually had not a terrible off season so far.  I am sure they will blow it on the draft though.

4) Alex Smith is nuts.  How does a guy get off complaining like he does after having one good year and four years of sitting on the ball and collecting a check.

5) speaking of visors and clipboards, that Jets back up who made a fuss and left when Tebow came along needs a reality check as well.  I don't even know his name, but what a baby.

Just when I thought that I couldn't dislike Tebow any more than I do already, he turns up in a Yankee cap

However, well done to those in the crowd that booed hom

Starting at home to the Colts, I'll take that I think. Wonder how Luck will get on (assuming they draft him).

We've got the Fudge Packers in week two on a Thursday night. Will that be live on Sky or do ESPN have Thursday games?

Its a "NFL Network" game so it could end up on either

Looks like a ticket would be about $400>$500 via Stubhub.

Shocked to the core that the Colts picked Luck  ;)

Looks like we've picked a really small (comparatively) DE. Only 260lbs and could also play LB.

I honestly never pay attention to the draft.

It never seems to be any players I have actually seen getting picked, so it isn't as if I really can have an opinion.  It seems like everyone is just pretending to know about these players (aside from the top 3).

In college football, I only watch the Miami Hurricanes, and I never get "into it" on that fanboy level.

(I will also watch Uconn, because I feel like I should, because I am paying for it, but it THE U played Uconn, I am rooting for The U)
