Are people taking this game of catch seriously then?

It's rather big now you know.  Obviously not a physically demanding sport such as Tennis or Snooker, but popular all the same.

Gosh.

I'm watching it now and it seems to consist of loads of big chaps running into each other followed by some other smaller blokes in Newcastle shirts pointing.

Well said,

No more need to post in this thread now you've got your point across.
lol

NFL > Rugby

Watching the O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D J-E-T-S getting thumped by Pittsburgh. Could see this coming.

Even better I picked up some $$$ having a bet with a Bears fan. Easy money to take, Packers were always going to win. As much as I like the Bears they have flattered to decieve this season.

Great. Have the Monday off so that I can watch a Superbowl between 2 teams that I hate. Finally have a good week with the football and the American Footy goes cack.

Another Superbowl, can't believe it really.   They did their best to throw it away in the second half, but hung in there.

Not a good match up against the Packers, especially indoors on turf.   Oh well, they are there and have a chance.  They will need Pouncey to be fit though.

Well, I called the Packers from the start and not just because I'm a Packers fan, well, maybe a little bit.

Its going to be a hell of a blood and thunder Superbowl.
Our offence didn't really show up last night but with that defence you always have a chance.

Packers have a better defence (although it's close), better QB (though Roethlisberger is no mug) and arguably better recievers when they're on it.
Pittsburgh have a better running game and are mentally tough. Strong all round.
But I'm tipping Green Bay to just edge it. If we had Grant and Finley I wouldn't hesitate to say Green Bay but we dont so, close.

It all depends how Big Ben does under pressure, because he's going to be under a fair amount with Clay Matthews and Co coming at him. And then if Rodgers and the receivers can get the rhythm going with the passing game because our running game is invariably hopeless without Grant. Starks is still learning his trade and our offensive line is good at protecting Rodgers but making gaps is not a forte.

Well I guess I'll be supporting the Packers. I don't particularly dislike Pittsburgh, but they've won enough, both lately and historically.

Have applied for my SuperBash tickets, find out on Wednesday if I've been lucky again - been twice in the last four years. Two years on the trot might be asking too much, fingers crossed.

My missus wants to come with me this time, which I'm not sure is the best idea - she watches games with me at home, but often dozes off during the late ones...

I'm all packers this year.

I went out to watch the Stelers/Jets game, in NY, and the place was full of Steelers fans.  Mostly girls, and a lot of them were in pink.  It reminded me of the Pat's 3 years ago.

So, where will Jeff Fisher end up ?

Will he be coaching next season or turn into the next Bill Cowher ?

Can't stand the Packers, can't stand the Steelers.

At least the half-time show will be good.

What do you mean it's the fucking Black-Eyed Peas?

FAO of people in the UK who have Sky Sports...

Every day on Sky Sports 4 they're showing about 7 'NFL America's Game' from 10am-5pm starting from the 1966 Packers all the way thru to the 2009 Saints. Unfortunately I only just saw this when I checked my TV guide so I missed all of yesterday's documentries. Right now it's the 1975 Steelers and will finish today with the 1980 Raiders.

1981 49'ers, 1983 Raiders, 1985 Bears, 1994 49'ers, 1998 Broncos, 2000 Ravens, 2002 Bucs, 2003 Patriots, 2004 Patriots and 2009 Saints will all be recorded and going onto my Sky+ box.

I always enjoy watching these documentries and it's each great every, single one going back to 1966 is going to be shown. Enjoy!

Does this mean that I'll get to watch Da Bears doing the Superbowl Shuffle?

I'd already seen the ones from 1974 to 1982 ish, so I just recorded the earlier ones.

My Sky+ is nearly full, so I can't record them all. Ever since Sky removed the "Copy" facility (which allowed for bulk exporting to a DVR), its more difficult to keep things for posterity.

It goes against the grain, but I am supporting the Packers. The Steelers don't deserve to have won three SuperBowls in the last five years or so. They've been decidedly average for most of that time.
