Class finishing earnt the win tonight. Lambert nearly cost us by refusing to bring on fresh legs. Another limp, spineless display by Ireland, don't want to see the overpaid, burnt out player in a villa shirt again. The last minute winner was even sweeter seeing that prick Di Canio acting up on the pitch after the whistle. God I was glad it didn't go into extra time, it was fukin freezing.

Ireland set-up the first and was lively throughout according to 5Live.

Yep he played well apparently, but some people do seem to have an agenda against him.

Indeed they do. Some real vitriol directed at him from a couple of Villa fans when he went off; all to do with his wages and flash cars. No comments on how he'd played (other than "you're effing s**t ireland, eff off") because, fact is, he was excellent last night. Some great runs down the channels, always looking for the ball and some really intelligent passing picking out the likes of Gabby and Benteke without even having to look up. It's also worth noting that in the first half, when under the cosh, he was fighting for every ball and acting as a good outlet going forward. Admittedly he tired a little in the second half but that's to be expected. On the whole a great performance from him and he simply has to play.
Stephen Ireland is everything that is wrong with Aston Villa. Talk me through his missed and bottled challenges? When did he fight in the first half?

Steven Ireland piss in your tea at half time?

Ireland is class and we need more of that not less.
