Aston Villa have agreed deal to sign Andrés García from Levante for €7m fee, the right back spoke with Unai Emery and accepted.
Deal set to be sealed, as
@relevo
reports.
-
Excellent news.
Andy Garcia soon to be starring in Emery's 11 and becoming an untouchable.
-
Great to see the deal completed so quickly. His brother Diego's transfer is taking way longer.
-
Levante are second division so this looks like one of those deals where Unai develops the player. If he develops at the same rate as our Morgan, he will be playing for Spain by the end of the summer.

Don't like the sound of that last bit.
-
Garcia must be of suits to Emery style , will have the understanding of Spanish and natural ability and football intellect that I think will show Cash up. And unsurp him.
I have every faith Garcia fits Emery profile and seems like Monchi has unearthed another gem!
-
If this guy and Malen are at the right level we're sorted. Upgrade Carlos and we're mega sorted.
-
Take it as he’s the same age (ish) as Ned Unai doesn’t think Ned is ready?

I think Ned is younger
-
Ned isn't ready. Looked better in whichever game he came on in most recently, but not ready.
-
Ned turned 19 in December.
Andres Garcia turns 22 in February

Ned on loan to get proper games for 18-months I reckon. By the time he returns he’ll either be fit to replace cash or be sold.
-
There was quite a bit of interest in him but we were the only club to make a proposal. No flies on Monchi.

Don’t we always have a number of options ?

Isn’t he being loaned back out?

Oh I like him. ......Great film

you're probably thinking of the Turkish lad.

Obviously, it was more the financially viable bit.

Ah fair enough - but a season or two in div 2 in Spain it’s quite a step if he isn’t competing for first team isn’t it? Obviously I hope he’s brilliant, and know nothing about him, so might be entirely wrong.
-
Where does this signing leave Ned
-
Fl
anderingoundering
-
Looks like he trusts his left peg too from that video. Can whip in a cross, has pace and physicality. Surprised he hasn't been playing in La Liga rather than La Segunda.
-
In a atomic dustbin?
-
I hope this is a solid upgrade on MC cause that is what we need most in this window as it has been for the last few.
We dont need a promising RB or a current second choice RB cause we have multiple of those and have had different ones for the last seasons.
-
£6m normally doesn't get you Prem quality , have to trust Emercy/Monchi on this one .
-
I'm happy with this.
-

MC is not so much of a problem now that Kamara’s back to close the gaping hole he leaves in the right-side of our defence. Plus if we get a centre-back in we can put Konsa out there against the best teams with good wingers. Big risk in the Monaco game with no Carlos to facilitate that, but hopefully we’ll muddle through.
-
So, we have 2 development players at RB: Ned's a full international and had now had some EPL experience. Garcia is older, has experience in the Spanish 2nd division, and ...
... there you go; not sure where this is going.

Seems a case of money's too tight to mention
-
Put a different way: he's plied his trade in the Spanish second tier - isn't that the same level as KKH?
-
Two feet, quick, strong, likes a step over.
He'll do for me.
-
I’m going with the now stock line of ‘could be another Morgan Rogers.’ And hope for the best.
-
Cash has payed consistently well for weeks, crossing aside, helped no end by Kamara being sublime. Emery clearly thinks Ned needs more football. Maybe this lad is closer to being ready, with potential to give us more going forward. If he's anywhere close to being a success, it's a masterstroke.
-
Can be kind of same deal as Rogers, bought from second level with relatively same amount of money - heres hoping anyway.
-
Cash has been playing well , I don't see this kid getting near the first team yet unless there's a crisis . Jumping from Spain div 2 to the Prem won't be an easy transition.
-
Any clips of him defending 😂
-
Levante fans seem to think he's the second coming off Cafu. If he's half as good as they think, we're doing the right thing.
-

That’s always a good sign I think
I know we can look at Rogers and Tielemans and say the fans got it wrong there, but in general fans know what they’re talking about because they’re watching all the games and if they like him I think that’s a positive
-
Link to the Levante forum and someone who speaks Valenciana? Probably John Blackwell...
-
Any clips of him defending 😂
Lol, as if a Villa defender would need to be any good at defending!
-
Hopefully this is classic Monchi. He looks very promising but never played international youth football so plucked from obscurity. Could be the bargain of the season
-
As long as he’s aggressively pushing Cash for a starting position, I’m happy.
If he’s not as good as Cash, it would suggest we haven’t got our transfer business in order and therefore we have a recruitment problem, especially as the club don’t consider Kosta quite ready yet to challenge Cash.
-

More likely we are having to operate within a budget and have spotted an undervalued player.
As others have outlined, this probably means Ned can go on loan to speed up his development. Garcia is Cash’s understudy when we want an attacking RB. Konsa first alternative/defensive option, subject to what happens with Carlos/a player coming in.
It might not work out but its more proof of a holistic transfer strategy rather than proof of a problem in my opinion.
-
Ordinarily, I’d think signing an obscure young right back from the Spanish second division would be about as successful as that time we signed Spanish Tony Moon (who’s currently plying his trade in Romania, having played for just about every diddy club in Spain)
However, it’s Emery & Monchi so I’m full of the hope that he’ll be another genius Morgan Rogers type bargain.

I disagree. I’d rather we don’t bring in a player if he’s not going to push who we have starting. Otherwise, what’s the point? We all think that right back is an area we can upgrade on. If we’re a serious champions league side, we shouldn’t be filling our squad with filler. If he’s a diamond in the rough, than fine. But if not, where are we going if we’re not looking to upgrade on Cash? We shouldn’t be moving Konsa to right back to rectify right back issues.
-
Weirdly, I also agree with you. My preference is we only buy to improve the first XI (+ wunderkids) and Garcia doesn’t feel like that situation. Possibly this is seen as an affordable stop gap and Cash is sold in the summer to bring in Maldini 2.0.
Whichever way, I still think there’s a plan in place.
-
I'd assume the problem is financially we can't afford to actually upgrade Cash at the moment, especially when having to buy for other positions too.
The problem for most of this and last season has been that we have no other option at RB. Konza isn't a RB, and having to play him there means having to change the defence entirely, but it's mainly what we've done when we've had to.
If García proves to be, at the very least, a solid backup to Cash, then we're still better off than we have been.
-

I think recruitment wise, we’re in the best position we’ve been in a long time. But this still feels like an odd transfer, particularly considering who we’ve been linked with a few RB and the fact we already have Kosta. So i have assume this Spanish lad is a major diamond in the rough or we’re looking to increase his value in 6-12 months for a sale.
-
Every unknown bought for not a lot of money will now get the ‘ could be another Morgan Rogers’ line for the next 20 years minimum
Anyway, I’ve never heard of Garcia but I hope he’s turns out to be another Morgan Rogers
-
I’ve always been jealous of teams like Brighton unearthing these brilliant players for very little money, but we have also got to try and do the same to comply with FFP. We have to trust the process as we can’t compete with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool Man City and Spurs when it comes to spending.
-
Seems like a great bit of business, but I'm hoping that after watching the highlights clip, Monchi/Emery haven't got any of the Levante strikers on their list.

Ha, yeah I had the same thought!
-
Im ok with this. Doesnt cost much and might be a little unknown gem. If he flops will be only a small fee so win win for me
-
On his way, and has gone for the Arthur Daley look when it comes to coats. https://x.com/DepCOPEValencia/status/1880650626755182729

And the comments from their supporters are hugely positive, grateful to him and saying he deserves it.
-
Townley
Andres Garcia has joined #AVFC from Levante for a fee of around £6m.
The 21yo right-back has caught the eye with a string of performances, especially recently after contributing three goals and producing two assists in his last eight La Liga 2 appearances.

Welcome to the greatest football club in the world - i hope you achieve all your football ambitions with us.

Wow, this came out of nowhere, unless I've not been paying sufficient attention...
...was just thinking before I read this how much I hope we sign a right back. It's the one area of the pitch where there is no real competition. Ned is still clearly a bit too raw and could do with, I agree, some loan time
-
Wow, this came out of nowhere, unless I've not been paying sufficient attention...
The thread itself for him is four days old and created off the deal being all but done after several days of rumours. So I suggest the latter.

Levante seem to be D 1½ team. About the level of Sheffield United or some such

Not a bean on BBC Football AFAICS. Not even the Villa page. Unless...

Great. Hopefully we can flip him to Fulham in the summer and make 5m on him. PSR all the way baby.

Looks like Commodus from Gladiator (Joaquin Phoenix) on Prada.

Can a moderator change the thread title to add “signed”

His goals are amazing, looks a very decent punt.

Always liked Andy Garcia, hope he’s as good as he’s in gangster movies.

In the squad for Sunday I guess
-
Welcome young man, please be good.

Surely initially an understudy to Cash with Ned going out on loan?

If he turns out be Rogers of fullbacks….just think🤔
-
Welcome to Aston Villa Andres.

It's going to be an interesting experiment.
-

Finances obviously dictate and we don't really know where those stand at the moment, but we could have done someone a bit more established than the punt that this appears to be.
Obviously wish him the best of luck though and hope he does well.
-
He looks really good on his YouTube highlights, both defensively and offensively, albeit in the Spanish second division. Reminds me of Pedro Porro in style.

I've heard good things about Mateusz Gotówka.

Anyway this García sounds good to me. I wonder if the useless auto-correct on my phone will ever learn to add the accent automatically, like it never does for Duràn.

Agreed. Im glad we are not going crazy on a right back this window. If he does well at PL level his value goes up and he is young.
If he flops its only a small fee we lose on him. So im ok with this deal

Bit of a redundant question unless you know the budget we are working with and who is available at that budget and willing to come?

They do and I don't know what our current finances are. I would have preferred a more established option, but accept that the finances might have dictated that we couldn't afford that kind of player.
As I say though, what we've paid might be all we can afford, so expectations need to be adjusted and we might well have got a good deal for the price.
-
I love it when they say things like, "It's an honour for me to defend these colours".
-
Oh those Spaniards have a way with words, sexy charmers.
Other observations:
Started out as a winger just like his rival Matthew Cash. Explains why he looks so confident going forward in those clips.
The Bodymoor IT person responsible for adding new profiles to tech aint a languages person (unless its code). Andrés, not Andreas, por favor.
Goosebumps = "Pelos de punta" Love it, never realised.
-
Any Spanish player at that age who has come through academics in Spain is going to be technically and tactically enhanced.
Basically he's going to be a very good footballer.
I have high hopes and expect him to be the right back sooner rather than later. It seems like it was worth the wait for a right back.
He's already made Cash up his game but I suspect Garcia impact is going to be Moreno level and then some.
Monchi Magic signing !
-
Started off as a winger then became a full-back?
Sounds like Gidman and Swain!
No pressure, Andres...

I admire your faith but a word of caution: he cost less than Nedeljkovic and is yet to represent his country at full squad level (yes, Spain is a different proposition to Serbia; I know). Transfer-value doesn't always indicate ability, of course.
Ned is clearly 3 years' behind in age but is he in terms of development?
They both seem like very similar players and both will have to dislodge Cash who - despite some views on here - is having a very good season, in general (albeit in a inconsistent team)..

Forgot/didn't realise that Ned cost more. Hmm...I wonder do we still have highest hopes for him.

We might see him for the first time tomorrow. A shame he might play his first game in a bit of a makeshift defence.

Talking of films, didn't we film last season with a view to selling it to someone like Netflix - did that ever go anywhere? Surely all the footage must be sitting somewhere?
-
I hope he's fit and firing, one full time CB available and Bouba doesn't look quick enough to cover IMO.
-
looks good going forward, with a trick and good cross on him. Impressed by his 45 minutes despite us generally being very poor.

Poor game to make your debut in, thrown into an entirely makeshift defense.

Agreed, I felt for him.

Wrong decision to take him off as the later substitution of Lamar Bogart showed

I thought he looked OK but as you say, felt sorry for him having to play in that.

Why let the facts get in the way of the incessant moaning.
-
Would imagine VT is correct. His posts are usually pretty well thought-out, he doesn't just post any old rubbish.
-
Not the young lad’s fault today. He was playing in a makeshift defence who had never all started together before, away in grudge match at a significantly higher level then he’s ever played before. Put a good cross in early doors and looked like he wanted to take his man on. But then getting dispossessed in important areas of the pitch and was probably the right decision to withdraw him. Whether it was the right decision to start him is a different matter.
-
I thought he did ok in the first half. Not really surprised he faded in his first game over here though. Think he might be decent at home when we attack more.
-
I thought he looked decent, was a bit unlucky to get hooked at half time, I was surprised he was in the box for corners when we were attacking, which suggests to me he might be decent in the air, or they think he’s a goal threat at least.
-
Look very effective taking on his defender..

I think that’s a fair summary, Leon. I’d also add that having an inexperienced Bogarde in front of him didn’t help either of them on the right side against a fired up Wolves team.

No it did not. He’ll have learnt a lot from his 45 minutes.

Athletic article shared by Toronto Villain
Jacob Transwell reporting.
Garcia specifics posted here for further discussion
"Villa had to work their way through a right-back list. Flamengo’s Wesley Franca, Mingueza and Ratiu were among the options. Mingueza was the standout candidate, contributing two goals and five assists in La Liga this term and his ability to operate in central defence and left-back appealed. The exception was that he was expensive and around three times the amount Andres Garcia, the 21-year-old from Levante, would be.
Garcia, who signed for €7m (£5.91m; $7.2m), was regarded as a market opportunity and shares the same representatives as Pau Torres, who have a good relationship with Monchi and Emery. Having impressed in his first week of training, Emery was confident enough to start Garcia at Molineux at the weekend.
Garcia’s arrival meant another young right-back in Kosta Nedeljkovic could leave. He had interest from Valencia and Saint-Etienne, among other options, but signed for RB Leipzig until the end of the season. The German club state they have an option to buy Nedeljkovic in the summer"
-
Caen’s Tidiam Gomis was regarded in a similar bracket to Garcia. Midway through January, Villa felt they had made a breakthrough in signing the 18-year-old and an agreement was close, despite Leipzig’s interest.
Other Premier League sides were significant backers, with one scout at a lofty Premier League club telling The Athletic that his signing would be a significant coup. The France youth international was out of contract this summer and Villa were only required to pay a small fee. Unfortunately, finances and the complexities of an agreement — wrangling over clauses and payments — were arduous and Gomis joined RB Leipzig on deadline day.

Needs help and support if he’s coming up against Sonny today.
A good defensive test for him but I’ve liked what I see of him going forward and attacking.
-
He'll sing I got you Babe at him.

That song drove me mad on a family holiday with my ex wife, must be about 30 years ago. She got a tape of the album it was from and insisted on playing it every time we got in the car. I went from thinking it was alright to being unable to stand it by the end of the fortnight. Thinking back that might have been the beginning of the end for our marriage.
-
I thought for a lad coming out of the Spanish second tier he was excellent in his first start at Villa Park. Solid, didn’t make a meal out of the simple stuff.
-
Did well very.
-
Veey impressive

Ha, sorry Chris! Was it on the album "A Woman's Heart", released circa 1992? Sold 750k copies in Ireland which is the equivalent to about 10m in the UK.

Imagine if we blag an upgrade on Cash for less than £8m.
-
I'm not as hard on Cash as some posters are, and I would have been happy to get a ready to go back up at RB until we found a proper replacement/upgrade. (Nedeljkovic looks like he has potential, but clearly Uni doesn't rate him right now.) The fact that Garcia could be the replacement/upgrade is brilliant. We could potentially save a lot of money by not having to spend big in that position come the summer.
-
I was wondering how Garcia was feeling today. He's played very little if any top flight football and suddenly he then he finds himself playing behind Marco Asensio. He just seems representative of Villa as a club in the twovand a bit years since Ubail Emery was appointed.
-
Looks like a potential bargain to me, shame he can’t play in the Champions League.
-
I think he already looks an upgrade on Cash.
-
I think he already looks an upgrade on Cash.
He did alright today, but Cash gets a ludicrously hard time from some of our fans. He’s been a good player for us. If Garcia kicks on brilliant, but way too early to make that kind of assessment in my opinion.
-
Probably everything today needs to be tempered with the fact that Spurs were abysmal for most of the game, but especially the first half. There may as well have been nobody in the middle of the pitch, we had so much freedom.
-
Liked what I saw today. Looked a solid, natural RB who knows the position and his role. Got forward well at times as well. A promising start.
-
Impressive. Looked more powerful than I'd taken him to be.
-
he's a stocky little sod.

Didn’t put a foot wrong, I thought he was excellent.

I was a little cautious about a young guy coming from the Spanish second tier, but he played with great maturity last night;
a very different brief from the one he had at Wulvs last week.
-
Really impressive home debut.
-
I like what I've seen so far, pushing forward, making tackles.
Also he was the first player out after the game who actually went over to fans waiting to sign autographs. Plenty of others all cleared off without acknowledging anyone.
He was full of smiles and gave up his time.
-
I like the look of him but if he has no left foot, why does he so frequently end up thinking about using it? He then has to turn his whole body, a la Cash, and any attacking momentum disappears.
-

I dunno about that, I think he's pretty two footed. And switching back onto his left makes the defender think twice that he's not always going to go down the line.
I thought he did really well- caveated- (But apart from that, how was the show Mrs Lincoln?) and given he's come from a lower level in a slower league, his energy pleasantly surprised me as well.
-
They kept trying to show him onto his left foot and he kept skinning them down the line. I think he can use both but kept the defence guessing. Mistake notwithstanding, he did really well again.
-
He was distraught as we all were with his blind pass which found Salah. Nice touch by McGinn the way he quickly rushed to console him, very good captaincy was that. Overall he had a good game.
-
He near enough got a standing ovation when he came off (subbed) . I'm sure that would have reassured him as well.
-
Did really well aside from the mistake. Actually beat his man a few times (we haven't seen that for a while down the right wing)
-
And good sub management as well, I didn't think he was tiring but UE clearly saw something and Cash gave us a renewed impetus down the right side.
-
He certainly doesn't seem to be a downgrade on what Cash gives us (even maintaining the same once-per-match brainfart), and hopefully his youth gives us time to mould him into something very good.
-
Bit of a John Gidman about him.
-
Looks a really good signing, miles above Kosta so far. Tidy on ball, big mistake aside, and strong. Big pre season ahead to get fitter.
Cash though brought a bit of menace to our defence when he came on, still our best option at RB.
-
Despite the error he was very good. I think he has huge potential

Agree on all this

Think we maybe need to get away from thinking either / or playing and think of them both featuring at different times in games in the same way Digne and Maatsen do.
I think Cash struggles a bit with playing full games now, but can bring energy into a game like he did last night. Horrendous error aside, I thought Garcia did well again and think the combination of him starting and Cash coming on could work well.
-
For a lad that's come from the Spanish second division to hold his own amongst some truly great players is testimony to the potential that lies ahead for him. It seems like he's quick learner and will only get better.

agreed - also the fact that McGinn (who up till then was having a mare himself) made a point of consoling him was really good to see

I'm sure that was the intention for Digne and Maatsen but Maatsen is firmly the backup as he hasn't performed when given chances.
Cash is increasingly suffering with injuries but he's easily first choice when fit. I thought he proved that again when he came on last night. He's a very solid PL right back these days, limitations in the attacking third aside. I think Garcia is proving, at maybe 20% of Maatsen's cost, is that he can be relied upon to come in for Cash, I think he's better in the attacking third too. The drop off with Kosta/Bogarde/Konsa at RB looks a thing of the past.
-
Barring the major clanger I thought Garcia had an excellent game , to jump from Spain div 2 and play at the top end of the Prem like that is impressive and he's only going to improve over the next couple of years.

Goals 2 and 3. He's definitely got a left foot.

Ryan Giggs' son, Zach Giggs...also know as Andres Garcia.

Is that from his or his brothers wife?
-
He's done very well so far apart from that one mistake I think he will only get better and be a great signing for us.
-
From what I've seen so far I'm just disappointed he's not in the Champions League squad.

I'd already forgotten about this. Same. Hopefully Cash can stay fit or we can all have the fun Konsa at RB discussions again.
-
Is that from his or his brothers wife?
Rodri (is that his name?) acted the cvnt when Rashford joined us, mocking him on social media for his "fall from grace."
-
Think it was Ryan’s brother not his son who had a pop at Marcus.

Agree, I really his energy, strength pace and a decent cross aswell.

You see it more in modern rugby where especially forwards are categorused as 'starters' and 'finishers'. Digne for Maatsen is a change Emery makes in most games and I think we will see the same approach on the right now as well. I personally think that coming on for 30 or so minutes suits Cash really well, as shown the other night and I think Garcia starting with Cash coming on could well be the approach we see going forward.
-
Bringing Moreno in to replace Digne worked wonders for Digne, which I assume was not the plan. If García can keep Cash on the bench, then it's good for us, if Cash does like Digne and manages to keep García on the bench, then that's good for us too.
It's funny to think that as the window was closing, García probably seemed like the least interesting of our signings. Even with the talk of someone being left out of the CL squad, most were concerned about Malen. A few weeks later and, given he's a permanent signing, García is starting to look like potentially the best buy this winter, and the biggest loss from the CL squad.
-
He’s been excellent. I’m trying to think of a player that has come in from abroad l, and appeared to have “settled “ so quickly. It looks like he s played for us for a couple of seasons.
-
I think Moreno settled pretty quickly and had dislodged Digne as a starter before he got injured.
-
I really like this young man. Looks like he's settling in well and adapting nicely.

Yes , you’re right, he did. I still find it strange how his career has dipped. He was so good for us that second half of the season
-

Agreed, solid cameo again. Cash seemed to be limping coming off so we might see more of Garcia starting again very soon.
-
Based on last night, I'd play him instead of Cash.
-
I'd imagine more often than not, we will, but not in the CL, so Cash will need to get game time too, to make sure he's up to speed for the Bruges games.
-
I think he will start v Palace.
-
Makes sense, as he can't play in the CL games.
-
Someone posted selfies with Andrés on Facebook, after spotting him in IKEA last week, getting furniture for his new pad on Hagley Road or wherever.
-
Special mention for this lad he has settled in so well given the level he is now operating at.
-
Which makes his sub for Bailey last game even more frustrating.
-
Bump. Love him. Great attitude.
-
Bump. Love him. Great attitude.
Yeah, seems to have great engine on him too. He was up and down the right hand side for the whole 90 mins.
-
He’s ace, I really like him. What a great find. Hopefully we’ve got two really good full backs for some years to come now.
-
Going to be a real asset. And great eyebrows.I'd go all in for a unibrow.
-
Wonder how Nedeljkovic is getting on on loan. We've got the option now of selling him or Cash in the summer if we need to bring in some money.
-
This years' January's bargain of the decade to supplement Rogers last year
-
He's already better than Cash. IMO.
-
He looks what a RB should be. Good game today. Hope he can show it over time against better teams as well.
-
I like his energy and tenacity.
He is like terrier when trying to win the ball back, leaves it all out there.
Great signing.
-
I've been really impressed with him so far.
He's got the makings of a top class full-back.
Speed, power, strength, good first touch.
And to think that he's only just turned 22 and has only made 50 appearances in the Spanish 2nd Division and 7 for Villa.
I'm sure Monchi bought him as a development project, but because of injuries he's been thrown in at the deep end. With little time to adjust to the move to a new country, form relationships his fellow players, and take on board Unai's tactical and formational style.
One dodgy bsck pass aside, he's been really impressive.
Shades of Johnny Gidman?
-
Shades of Johnny Gidman?
Absolutely. From his first appearance that's what immediately came to my head though he looks a better defender than Giddy. Early days but he fully deserves all the praise and recognition he's getting.
-
Lots of question marks when we essentially swapped out Ned for him but he looks to be a very good find.
-
I like to call him Gracias Garcia.
Won’t be available for Tuesday which is unfortunate.
-
Nearly got caught out on the halfway line by a Cardiff player who would have been through on goal but he used his strength to stop the danger.
Did the more expensive RBs we wanted in January move clubs in the end? One was at Celta.
Ideally, we wouldn't have PSR issues as two quality full backs would make a difference in our growth. This guy, Cash and Maatsen are ok, Digne is a level above them but still not perfect.
Re Kosta, he nearly made a dream debut for Leipzig, coming on as a sub and hitting the bar in a game that finished 0-0. Not sure if he's featured much since.
-
I like to call him Gracias Garcia.
Won’t be available for Tuesday which is unfortunate.
We already have JJ so why not GG? Just a shame that Hannah Hampton left.

.and Steve Staunton, but that's probably not a good idea.
-
He's already better than Cash. IMO.
He will be 1st choice if he carries on the way he is.
-
Given the level Garcia has come from and circumstances have necessitated him playing far more than expected he has done much better than anticipated. Apart from the major error against Liverpool he has played as well as anyone else we could play at right back. I think he probably qualifies as a young, and crucially, 'coachable' player. It's a shame he can't play against Brugge.
-
I really like him. Was my MOTM last night. Every throw-in he takes is a foul throw mind.
-
With some good coaching he will be a good premier league player
-
I love watching him play he looks settled already.
-

This rule seems to have gone by the way side same as the rule about not being offside if the attacking player is level with the last defender. The foul throw rule (How you throw the ball)has always been a daft rule.
-
Shades of Johnny Gidman?
Needs to grow his hair, so he can ruffle it up before every free kick, and then ensure his legs are so bandy he "couldn't stop a pig up an entry" as my dear old man used to say.
A fantastic find - If Fraudliola spent a gazillion on him to replace the serial shagger Walker the media would be creaming themselves over how good old Pep is, where as Professor Emery has now found 2 low cost gems and has coached them into fantastic players in Rogers and this kid
-
Congratulations to Andres Garcia who has his first call up to Spain U21s
He’ll be soon on a pay rise in his contract as only getting better and good to see him recognised by Spain.
Class act.

Doug is smiling down...
-
Incidentally, he played the second half of Spain's 2-2 draw with Czechia. Both Czech goals coming in the first half so not caused by any stray back passes from him.
Away to Germany tonight.
