Some bench that is.
-
Jaden....
-
F*ck me that has to be the best bench we’ve ever had?
-
Great to see Ollie in there. Back four looks stronger than I feared. UTV
-
I'm concerned that we still have Cash as first choice RB. How well will Onana do until Kamara is back? We will see.
Come on Villa, FTF!
-
They revealed the squad 15 minutes earlier than the usual hour. What's going on there?
-
I hope the 39% change their tune our line up is superb and can take West Ham.
Let's Go Watkins !!! Can't wait !!
Up the Villa
Enjoy the game everyone
Let's be positive !
See you later
-
F*ck me that has to be the best bench we’ve ever had?
Yep lots of options and plenty of pace too.
-
They revealed the squad 15 minutes earlier than the usual hour. What's going on there?
Yes I wondered why that was.
-
They revealed the squad 15 minutes earlier than the usual hour. What's going on there?
It's 75 mins before KO from now on
-
Fans will now get extra notice for team news, as clubs will now publish their starting XI and subs' bench 75 minutes before kick-off.
That's 15 more minutes to fume over your incorrect fantasy football decisions, moan about your favourite player being dropped to the bench or get your first goalscorer bet on.
This rule change brings the Premier League in line with UEFA competitions and if you want to read the full details behind the change, head to Rule L.23 of the Premier League Handbook.
-
So Jaden no longer wants to be called Philogene nor Bidace?! FFS!
-
That's the line-up I hoped for, with Cash and Digne at full back.
-
They revealed the squad 15 minutes earlier than the usual hour. What's going on there?
It’s changed to 75 minutes now.
-
They revealed the squad 15 minutes earlier than the usual hour. What's going on there?
Yes I wondered why that was.
They've changed the rules, now 75 minutes before, same as in Europe.
-

Rules have been changed.
-
I'm concerned that we still have Cash as first choice RB. How well will Onana do until Kamara is back? We will see.
Come on Villa, FTF!
Cash won’t be first choice for long.
-

From now on, I'm calling him Dave

Ah I see. Cheers mate.

No Barracuda or Iling-Junior. Moreno not there either, but Carlos is. Interesting stuff.
So Onana is #998 then, and either Nedeljkovic or Maatsen could be #1000 if they both get on. (Or Gaucci if the unthinkable happens!)
-
No space for enzo bogarde and illing jr.
-
Its virtually a fully fit squad barring mings kamara and olsen

Turn up please Villa. That West Ham side is strong.

I am expecting Jad to do 20 mins in the second half.

Thought it was Adrian Filby but it isnt.

More to the point, what has Damian got on his feet?
-
No Barracuda or Iling-Junior. Moreno not there either, but Carlos is. Interesting stuff.
I suspect Barrenechea and I-J have been told to watch the pace and intensity of the game for a few, to get them tuned into the differences with the Italian league.
Moreno could well be off to Forest, and anyway we have Maatsen.
Carlos: maybe Emery doesn't yet quite trust Bogarde.
The bench does seem to have players now that can potentially change the game if we need to. Today, I'm guessing Watkins and Bailey will be brought off around 65-70, and Tielemans may give way to Barkley at some point too; subject to injuries.
-
If this was the other way round, and their star striker had been passed fit to play at the eleventh hour, we'd be absolutely certain that he was going to score against us. Fingers crossed.

It's more the fact we haven't seen Carlos since the sending off in the US, and he's been linked with a move too. I suppose if he's still here he's still a Villa player, so why not use him.

We should do enough to get a draw.
West Ham left most of their signings on the bench and Mavropanos and Kilman is certainly a CB combination we can cause issues against.
Unai has pretty much gone with our most experience side today which is understandable away to a team like West Ham and there's some good options on the bench so not quite as Doomsday as I was a few hours back.
Feels like a 2-2 today.

So Jaden no longer wants to be called Philogene nor Bidace?! FFS!
I like it. Starts off as Jaden Richard Philogene-Bidace, then by the time he hits our first team he’s dropped Richard, then Bidace, now Philogene. Next season he probably isn’t going to bother with a name at all. None of this CR7 bullshit, just plain old “19”. Everyone will know who “19” (n-n-n-nineteen) is
-
Come on Villa!
-
That Wham kit is not nice!
-
Did Emery just say that he thinks Kamara will be back in 1 month?
-
Let's go Aston!!
-
Did Emery just say that he thinks Kamara will be back in 1 month?
He did…brilliant news.
That’s Kamara and Mings both back with the squad around the same time
-
Hoping for many many scorchioooooooooooooos today. (And zero season ending injuries)
-

I noticed him in the media day video. Hard to tell from just a few clips but he looked like he's gained some bulk on top.

Nor Dendonck.
-
Did Emery just say that he thinks Kamara will be back in 1 month?
Back in training or back available for selection ?
-
Here we go, dig in everyone and let's have a great season.
-
Did Emery just say that he thinks Kamara will be back in 1 month?
Back in training or back available for selection ?
He didn't go into any detail, he just said he would be back next month. It was a passing comment when talking about the midfield.
-
Houllier being the last Villa manager to win at West Ham is going to change today!

You'd think it would be Heck wearing the platform trainers. Anyway, at least the blazers are single-breasted.

Three points, please lads.

I get your point but for me it's a McPhee special, the movement to the front and back posts to create a gap is excellent, and the delivery was spot on.

Love it when a new player scores on his debut get it
According to BBC Sport, we're level with Chelsea as having the most players score on their Premier League debut. Onana is the twenty-seventh.
-
Those away shirts look sweaty. McGinn looks like he's in a wet T-shirt competition.
-
It’s great having the extra height in the box both ends of the pitch. Onana will be valuable in many ways
-

We had the same problem last year

Looking good so far. We can do these if we don't do anything stupid.

So close!!

Yep we're looking very good.

We need another here. Not when we're under pressure. Become the stone cold killers we need to be.
-
Leon, Leon, Leon......
-
Fuck me Leon!!!
-
Fuck's sake Leon! How much do you trouser each week?
-
That really should have been 2-0. But credit to the WH defender for throwing himself enough to narrow the angle down like that.
-
Leon no! You beautiful maniac, how'd you miss!?
-
How did he miss that?
Sometimes they go in for you...
Point is that we keep creating these chances for the percentages
-
Wow what was the keeper thinking but who cares. Unlucky Leon.
-
Fuck me Leon!!!
Not too sure how to take that comment!
-
I'm in Blackpool watching the gMe ,these Stockport fans loveme.
Villa look class so far
-
Shit throw-in that!

Fuck me Leon!!!
Not too sure how to take that comment!
There's an obvious answer to that!!

Commentator said that no team has had more debutant scorers in the prem than Villa. Struggling to think of many. Diaby, Gestarde?

We have to take these chances.
-
Sort it out Unai!

Do you agree with the commentator's assessment that Villa have an advantage here through being more settled. Not convinced...

Ings scored on his debut v Watford

Thanks everyone. My memory is shot.

West Ham penalty
-
Word of the day: the verb 'rue'.
If we don't take 3 points today.
-
Fuck me. Come on Emi
-
Be amazed if it gets overruled.
-
Come on VAR!!
-
We should be two or three up.
-
Rogers is such a good dribbler of the ball. Love to see it.

Anyone got a body of flowing water? Please DM me.

And there we go, if you don’t take your chances
-
Soucek buys that with his leg

VAR makes its first balls of the season...
-
1-1
-
Very soft pen. Come on var do your stuff.
-
awful
-
Bonkers to dominate so much and be level.
-
Fucking corrupt
-
Very soft pen. Come on var do your stuff.
Clear pen.
-
Need another quickly to kill their mood again.
-
Soft as shit and totally undeserved.
-
Piss poor penalty decision
-
What a load of bollocks. Fucking bent VAR.
-
Soft as shite, but the fact that it was Cash isn't really a surprise.
-
Fucking corrupt
It’s not.
-
VAR explanation. "There was a touch from Cash, but he didn't attempt to play the ball". I don't usually get pissed off at decisions, but that is a fucking joke.
-
Sounds like one of those which was always going with the ref's decision. Not enough to give if ref states no, and too much contact to overrule if ref states yes.
-
I thought it was a pen, tbh. I'd have been screaming for it the other way.
-
My stream is way behind by the looks of it.
-
It’s the right call for the penalty even if Soucek played his part to win it. There wasn’t enough to overturn the on field decision. It was clumsy by Cash.
-
Sorry there's not enough in that for a pen. And yes, I'm biased...
-
Yeah, we'd all want that.
-
Love the justifaction - we dont want to use VAR to overturn ones like that
-
We now need to pick ourselves up and get back to how we were dominating. We have been much the better side
-
Cash a penalty waiting to happen as usual.
-
I think the pen's on the 'somewhat dubious' side, and it's been scored by Paquetŕ...
Boh. Should've been two or three up and that's on us.
-
I just have to say this: Get that fuckin Matty Cash off our team! I have been waiting for it! Nearly every fucking game he do cost us with his clumsy feets and whatever!
-
Glad we upgraded Cash. Arguably one of our weakest players last season. Can be a car crash sometimes.
-
Always Cash. We should have been three up and instead we are up against it
-
Cash gives away so many of those.
-
Piss poor penalty decision
That was the general opinion on RAWK.
-
Well done Emi.
-
That's why you have to take your chances.
-
Farcical penalty decision, Cash pile on here is pathetic
-
Matty Cash has conceded more penalties than anybody else since his Premier League debut in September 2020 - six.
-
We simply cannot afford to miss those chances at the level we’re at.
Oh well.
-
Cash a penalty waiting to happen as usual.
Yep, he has that in his locker.
-
Not a pen imo. Soucek should be booked for simulation
-
Farcical penalty decision, Cash pile on here is pathetic
Indeed. He won the ball and has done nothing wrong.
-
Fucking corrupt
It’s not.
Fucking corrupt
It’s not.
That penalty is a fucking joke
-
Then we have lost the initiative in the game thanks to Matty Cash.
-
Farcical penalty decision, Cash pile on here is pathetic
It's always Cash. Clearly the weakest link in this defence. Stupid fouls given away.
-
Farcical penalty decision, Cash pile on here is pathetic
Matty Cash has conceded more penalties than anybody else since his Premier League debut in September 2020 - six.
-
Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
-
Cash a penalty waiting to happen as usual.
He was my one concern with the starting line up. Just not good enough.
-
Joke of a pen, ref couldn't see through the players in front of him so guessed.
-
It’s not a penalty, awful decision.
-
Neither of our fullbacks are good enough
-
Just because the new directive is for VAR to not get too involved doesn't mean they shouldn't. What's the point of them being there? That's the worst decision I've seen in a very long time. We've been cheated.
-
Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
It didn't though. His toe stroked it and didn't dispose the player, followed by Cash taking him out. Anyone remember Milner being fouled against Blues? Similar incident.
-
Since beating Man City and Arsenal it's 4 clean sheets in 23 league games, got to improve that.
-
Cash a penalty waiting to happen as usual.
He was my one concern with the starting line up. Just not good enough.
That has nothing to do with the penalty though.
-
VAR saying that Cash touched the ball with his foot but not intentionally?!
Very piss poor decision.
-
"Antonio spinning away from Tielemans who had a tug"
FFS, concentrate on the game, lads 😡
-
No question, Cash did give away a clear penalty, as seen in replay.
-
Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
It didn't though. His toe stroked it and didn't dispose the player, followed by Cash taking him out. Anyone remember Milner being fouled against Blues? Similar incident.
That "taking him out " is doing some heavy lifting there
-
Ollie looks a bit rusty.
-

If you get a foot on the ball you can take the man out, ie. every half decent sliding tackle ever. Just because it's clumsy doesn't make it a foul. If you win the ball first it's not a foul.
It's blatantly not a penalty. I'm surprised by the reaction in here tbh.
-
The penalty is given for winning the ball but a forearm in Watkins face is deemed to be OK. Some referees mystify me.
-
I think it's a harsh penalty, but Cash is a bit out of position, a bit slow on the turn, and a bit flaily with his legs. Both things are true.
-
It’s a pen, Cash is so fucking clumsy in those situations. Good performance but we need a big second half.
-
Ollie looks a bit rusty.
His first touch for that chance he had at the end of the half was awful.
-
If it was a foul against us, we’d have been screaming for a pen.
Play like that second half, we should win this, which means we’ll be 3 points up from where I thought we’d be.
Generally a surprisingly great performance for first game of the season.
-
I haven't seen it but the example I always go back to is the one we didn't get against Brighton
-
A decent enough first half. Dominated for the most part, other than a few minutes here and there. Need to take our chances.
-
We should just ask to forfeit West Ham, Newcastle and Man. United away each season.
I'm sure this s*** happened two seasons back. We were 1-0 up and completely dominating and then they get a ridiculous penalty that should've been overturned.
Anyway rumours of our demise have been greatly exaggerated. That was a top class performance, just as good as anything we produced last season.
-
That penalty, I just despair. If it's a mistake, it's a mistake surely? The fact it may have been an understandable mistake on the part of the referee should surely be irrelevant?
-
Never a fucking penalty.
-
Ollie was never ever going to be match fit for this and it's showing unfortunately.
We played some lovely stuff until that pen.
More of that and we can win this.
-
Never a pen but good performance up until then. Keep going boys
-
Great stuff but the idea that VAR isn't looking to overturn decisions is the best yet. Fucking fuck off you fucking fuckers
-
Outrageous penalty. Bet West Ham fans know it too.
-

He’s got a point, and you’re repeating exactly the same mistake as the noses made after that game.
-
Cash's touch changed the direction of the ball and then he took the Spam player down, no penalty for me. If they give that, then they have to give the pen on McGinn too.
Other than the period right after the goal thought we were far the better team and should be well in front. I think we can still win, but the officials are providing a sterner challenge than WH.
-
We where superb until Cash got under pressure.
-
Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
It didn't though. His toe stroked it and didn't dispose the player, followed by Cash taking him out. Anyone remember Milner being fouled against Blues? Similar incident.
Not really. The ball didn’t even change direction with that and it took about 5 replays to even spot he’d touched it and even then you couldn’t be 100% sure. Cash clearly gets the ball and then there’s a bit of a coming together. It’s never a penalty in a million years. Refs in completely the wrong position, guesses and the new directive for VAR is just going to lead to them sitting on the fence all the time. (The only good thing about that will be that peoples anger will be focussed on the piss poor refereeing decision rather than a piece of technology that is used badly)
-
Neither of our fullbacks are good enough
Digne has been fine
-
Matty Cash has conceded more penalties than anybody else since his Premier League debut in September 2020 - six.
It's an OH for a defender, especially one who doesn't flinch in the tackle. Sorry, every time I look at it it's more a bollocks of a decision. Not a clear play my arse...
-
We should be leading with three.
-

You're going to need to elaborate on that.

That has never been the case ever. The decision is normally based on whether the ball is knocked away from the attackers control on whether a sliding challenge touching the ball first, then taking out the player is a pen or not.
I do think todays is less of a pen then some, but I also see that Soucek was winning the ball back before Cash and then there is the clash of legs which he goes down for. I think the Ref called it as he didn't see the touch first, and VAR sided with him still on review.
-
Cash did touch the ball, but without cash scissoring his legs, Soucek regains control of the ball for me. Right decision.
-
This new VAR initiative is going to make this even more farcical. It’s adding subjectivity to an already subjective farce. Either you use the fucking video or you don’t. ******.
-

Agree with all that. The question is, would that have been given against Citeh, Yanitid, Liverpool. The answer is a big, fat no.
-
It's all setting up perfectly for the Duran winner.
-
Soucek bought that pen by leaving his leg in, I think it's as simple as that and exactly the type of thing that VAR should be overturning because the referee couldn't have had a clear view of the incident. Also, why didn't VAR at least tell him to have a look at it on the monitor?
-
Cash toe pokes the ball, and then there is a coming together, so in actual fact, the foul occurs after Cash has won the ball? Er, yeah, ok, thanks VAR. Clear as mud as per.
-
Gotta get Rogers more on the ball, when he does go forward, he is terrifying their defence.
-
This new VAR initiative is going to make this even more farcical. It’s adding subjectivity to an already subjective farce. Either you use the fucking video or you don’t. ******.
Absolutely bang on.
-
Impressive performance bar the penalty incident. Shite that they've got the momentum now though
-
Then we have lost the initiative in the game thanks to Matty Cash.
Aside from the fact it was never a penalty, we should have been at least 2 up. Bailey's miss was horrendous. McGinn and Rogers on their weaker foot both of them but big chances missed.
West Ham will hardly be as bad again in the first half. I think Watkins has been our weak link so far, hasn't looked on it. Poor effort for his chance.
-
I don't give a fuck if it's a penalty or not but if there is a directive to cede to the ref, just have a fucking ref!
-
We should be leading with three.
Exactly. Garbage pen as it was we should be out of sight. Need to reset and go again but be clinical. I fear Bailey may see red so get Jaden on. Would also swap Morgan for Ramsey
-
Every rangers fan and Liverpool fan in here all said no pen
Joke of a decision
-
Ollie was never ever going to be match fit for this and it's showing unfortunately.
We played some lovely stuff until that pen.
More of that and we can win this.
He's the only one who hasn't looked at the races today. Not a question of fitness as lack of practice. He hasn't had the friendly run up. I hate international tournaments...
-
Any fucker who thinks that's a penalty wants to give the game up. Absolutely get fucked.

I don't give a fuck if it's a penalty or not but if there is a directive to cede to the ref, just have a fucking ref!
Yep. They’ve made VAR worse. It’s actually quite amazing.
-
Well we need to play in the second half like we did for most of the first half.
Not a pen for me but VAR have set the ground rules now and need to stick to it.
Ollie looks off the pace but other than that a sound team display.
-
Yes it was a touch but still Cash gives a penalty away.
-
My thoughts. Goal announced a minute before I saw it on TV. Penalty too. Great work! Appreciated by all.
Never a pen. Chances missed very annoying. We will win this.
-
We have got the better of these fuckers.
-
I think it was a poor pen decision. He got something on the ball - which normally is enough to mean that its not a pen. I guess the key thing here is - this sets a precedent. So long as we see this consistently then I have less of an issue. i.e. only overturn the ref decision if it was objectively wrong not subjectively wrong.
-
Any fucker who thinks that's a penalty wants to give the game up. Absolutely get fucked.
Ads for the win
-
Pens in this match.
Not given: McGinn being clattered in the opening few minutes in the corner of their box. No whistle. No VAR review.
Given: Cash wins the ball, goes down in a tangle. Ref guesses and waits for VAR to decide. Stockley Patk pillocks bottle it.
-
This new VAR initiative is going to make this even more farcical. It’s adding subjectivity to an already subjective farce. Either you use the fucking video or you don’t. ******.
I don't mind the new tweak to the rules so long as they stick with it and don't bottle it depending on which team it affects. The penalty decision doesn't seem to be clear cut as you even have Villa fans arguing about it, so on that basis stick with the original penalty award. We will see if they stick with a borderline on-field decision that goes against Man United at Old Trafford.
-
Soucek bought that pen by leaving his leg in, I think it's as simple as that and exactly the type of thing that VAR should be overturning because the referee couldn't have had a clear view of the incident. Also, why didn't VAR at least tell him to have a look at it on the monitor?
The kind of foul/penalty Grealish used buy regularly. Leave the leg in to try and force contact. Don't get me wrong Cash is often Matty Rash but he was wronged there.
-

Sounds like they are trying to please everybody. And you know what that leads to...
-
Cash's touch changed the direction of the ball and then he took the Spam player down, no penalty for me. If they give that, then they have to give the pen on McGinn too.
Other than the period right after the goal thought we were far the better team and should be well in front. I think we can still win, but the officials are providing a sterner challenge than WH.
VAR explanation, Mcginn had contact but not enough, Cash made contact with ball but not enough. You couldn't make it up, unless you are on VAR duty
-
I see Saka scored. Wasn't he at the Euros with Ollie?

I think it feels a little pre-season. Ollie and rogers seem a little rusty. Lets see what the subs can do
-
Bailey down.
-
How is Cash's pen any different to this? We were saying it was the right decision at the time.

-
Hmmm, not won away here* for 13 years
*not here, obviously. It was at that proper ground that West Ham once had...
-
First thing Cash does is give the ball away.
-
Learning from the commentary that Antonio Zaniolo scored for us here last year, interesting.
-
Had Cash’s toe poke gone for a corner it would have been a non decision. A farce.
It didn't though. His toe stroked it and didn't dispose the player, followed by Cash taking him out. Anyone remember Milner being fouled against Blues? Similar incident.
If you get a foot on the ball you can take the man out, ie. every half decent sliding tackle ever. Just because it's clumsy doesn't make it a foul. If you win the ball first it's not a foul.
It's blatantly not a penalty. I'm surprised by the reaction in here tbh.
Hence use of the word win and not touch.
If he hasn't seen it, he needs to be corrected on not seeing the touch first. That is the point of VAR.
-
This ref is bad.
-
The McGinn none penalty ……wasn’t the harry Kane pen in the euros exactly the same?
-
This ref is bad.
They've clattered us twice already this half with little result.
-
The McGinn none penalty ……wasn’t the harry Kane pen in the euros exactly the same?
yeah I thought that at the time
-
Is there a ban on singing in force?
-
Think we need a change
-
The McGinn none penalty ……wasn’t the harry Kane pen in the euros exactly the same?
Yes that's the one I was trying to think of. Doesn't seem to be any difference between them.
-
Decent recovery.
-
We seem determined not to score a second goal.
-
Another chance.
-
Kudus is getting the better of Cash out there.
-
We’ve played really quite well today. How we haven’t smashed this lot is what we might all be wondering at FT however it ends up.
-
We should be home and dry here
-
Should've scored there. We'll pay for these misses.
-
ffs we had 3 bites of the cherry
-
We have missed so many good chances. I’m pleased we’re creating them, but this has sucker punch written all over it.
-
We really should have take 1 of the 3 great chances we've had
-
JJ and JD getting ready to come on.
-
Watching the match on my iPad in a campsite near the centre of Nantes.
With a glass of wine.
Come on me babbies.
-
I’m sure Ollie will be coming off given he’s not played much in pre season
-
JJ and JD getting ready to come on.
Emery not messing around.
-
Come on JD redemption time.
-
Ollie and SJM off.
-
Glad he chose to shoot from a ridiculous angle.
-
It s good to see that we show that we can have in us same level of brilliant play as last season. Onana can be something. Then again we still do waste to many chances and have the liabilities of Cash also like last season.
-
Good call
-
The concerns about ollies fitness seem to have valid. Doesnt look match fit at all.
Duran time
-
C’MON The Panda!!!!!
-
Who got the armband?
-
I suppose he's not going to get match fit if he doesn't play. Right call, I think to start him.
-
Not sure about taking McGinn off this early. Thought he was our best player in first 45.
-
I suppose he's not going to get match fit if he doesn't play. Right call, I think to start him.
Yep a good run out in preparation for next week
-
Who got the armband?
Emi
-
Duran is either scoring the winner, or getting sent off. No other options.
-
It's pretty obvious the East London born commentator is a West ham fan.
-
C’MON The Panda!!!!!
Too much time to get the red panda mist🐼
-
This feels very "late Fullkrug winner" to me.
-
This feels very "late Fullkrug winner" to me.
I said that to Our Kid at half-time.
-
Oh JD!
-
STOP MISSING YOU TWATS
-
Bailey has been treated so unfairly today by the refereeing.
-
Fuck me. If he had just squared that to JJ
-
We’re going to fucking lose this aren’t we?
-
That was wankerish
-
I cannot, cannot believe it.
-
Duran should've done better there. It was a great chance.
-
Another glorious chance missed. We’re going to lose this even though we’ve played well.
-
Bloody hell! We just need to put one of these away. So close and annoying.
-
It's pretty obvious the East London born commentator is a West ham fan.
Two tier commentary.
-
Yes JD missing but you can see his potential there.
-
This is starting to feel like the bogeyist of bogey grounds. Remember that goal they got against Reina, FFS.
-
Another corner goal be nice, lads.
-
Here come the West Ham subs.
-
Ah fuck, Ward-Prowse.
-
Maatsen and Philogene coming on.
-
Maatsen #999!
-
Maatsen is player 999 then.
-
I’ve got 73.45 on my Now TV stream.
Am I way behind ?
-
I’ve got 73.45 on my Now TV stream.

-
Torres pass to Maatsen 😍
-
I m in love with John Duran.
-
It's all setting up perfectly for the Duran winner.
Should have put money on it!
-
John we forgive you!
-
Cash down. 1,000 incoming?
-
You just knew it
-
Blow sam fackin' babbles now you cants!

-
Torres pass to Maatsen 😍
Maatsens inside to JJ. :-*
-
Maatsen and Ramsey down the left is going to be fun this season.
-
Thousand up.
-
Torres pass to Maatsen 😍
Passing overrated to some.
-
Just wondering why he has 'J Duran' on his shirt this season.
-
Looked like he apologised to the fans and said he’s staying put in his goal celebration?
-
Well done Kosta
-
Torres pass to Maatsen 😍
Maatsens inside to JJ. :-*
Yeah what a beautiful cushioned pass. Proper quality.
-
Nedeljkovic is it is then.

Duran having a blinder

-
Torres pass to Maatsen 😍
Passing overrated to some.
Brilliant pass. You can tell how good Spain are as he cant get in the squad. Can't think of another he wouldn't be in at international level
-
Ings coming on
-
Duran started that move and then strolled all the way into their box. The West Ham way is brilliant.
-
The danger here with Kosta will be discipline and not leaving massive gaps behind because of his propensity to attack as much as possible.
-
What are Villa singing ?
-
Have played really well today. At least 2 goals better than wham. Only downside is Watkins performance, looked way off the pace.
-
Ings coming on
He’ll be exhausted just coming off the bench
-
Just wondering why he has 'J Duran' on his shirt this season.
Jumpin'Jehosphat Duran

Forgot he was still there...
-
I've missed Ramsey. Such a good player.
-
Saved Emi!!! Ned fuck up.
-
We always loved you big jhon 😘😘😘
-
Onana has done everything today that we were missing in midfield at the end of last season.
-
I feel sick.
-
phew
-
Duran is 50 million now
-
It's a shame Maatsen isn't a right-back.
-
Duran is 50 million now
Better than Nunez.
-
Is it over yet?
-
Youri knows what he’s doing
-
The passing and pace with the directness of Duran is great to watch.
-
Since the start of last season JD is averaging more than a goal every 90 mins played in the league. Very Boweryesque.
-
Duran is 50 million now
Apart from that shot when he should have squared it, he's been brilliant
-
Great pass, Philogene. Lucky they didn't award a passback...
-

200 IQ
-
Duran is 50 million now

He was entitled to shoot, IMO. Give me a confident greedy striker. (I don't mean "greedy" in a Grant Holt way).
-
Where have they got seven minutes from ffs.
-
7 minutes to go
-
7? Wtf
-
The yellow card for Philogene looked like a bit of an afterthought there.
-
Time yet for two more Duran goals
-
Duran is 50 million now

He was, but given he didn't score it doesn't go down as a mark in the "positives" column.
-
Great pass, Philogene. Lucky they didn't award a passback...
Because it wasn't one. He didn't play the ball deliberately to the keeper
-

Sure, but I think Ollie would've shot too. I think Unai likes his centre-forward decisive and a bit selfish.
-
Nicely done Ned.
-
7? Wtf
Hope they've were taking notes when Emi was giving Shithousery classes at BMH.
-
Pre-Emery the issue many of us had with Ollie was that he wasn't greedy enough.
-
Be fucking smart here Villa
-
Kill the clock FFS
-
Fuck me!!
-
This better not be a fucking pen.
-
Fuck me. How did they not equalize?
-
Soucek fouled Kosta
-
And relax. Never in doubt.
-
Great block by Konsa
-
YESSSSSSSSSSS
-
Phew
-
Yesssssssss!
-
How was that even in consideration for handball?...
-
This is starting to feel like the bogeyist of bogey grounds.
You don't half talk some shite.
-
GET IN!!
-
Great result
-
Get in!
-
Houllier being the last Villa manager to win at West Ham is going to change today!
Nostradamus!!
-
Get the fuck in !!!
-
Yesss! Great start!
-
Stoppage time last year we were waiting to see if VAR was going to allow us to keep a point.
-
There is zero chamce durans going now
-
Yes yes yes. Fucking yes.
-
Sounds like we played really well but a lack of clinical finishing made it closer than it needed to be.
-
You beauty!
-
There is zero chamce durans going now
Score 8 goals by Christmas and PSG offer 110m
-
Soucek you big pile of shite.
Get it up ye.
-
Thank McGrath for that.
Well played lads, Lots of missed chances but thankfully we didn't pay for them.
-
Great result! Well none all!

Yes!!!
-
Get in!!!
-
Sounds like we played really well but a lack of clinical finishing made it closer than it needed to be.
We should have been 4 or 5 up at half time.
-
Nice one Villa. After our last few opening day debacles, I'd have taken a draw, so to win despite their dodgy penalty is brilliant! :)
-
If not for poor finishing we should of had 4/5 today. Some superb play at times.
They really only had a dodgy pen.
My MOTM was Torres...class
-
Sounds like we played really well but a lack of clinical finishing made it closer than it needed to be.
I dunno, couple of chances that just went the wrong side of the post. That always happens
-
That's a hall of fame opening day as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely outstanding win given everything. Well done lads!!
-
The winning goal came from 3 player's combining who had only just came on. Unai you fkn genius.
