Ramsey's been off it, maybe he's still carrying something. No Torres, man, that's rough.

Tielemans back on the bench though! And hopefully Kamara and Luiz together will be a boost.

Agree. I think as good as Bailey has been, him and Diaby in from the start away from home against Dyche cloggers, could leave us a little light in the middle. Torres is a huge miss, gutted his not on the bench.
It does feel like we have to get the first goal here.

No, I've always suspected he isnt that keen on him. It's the life of a full back sometimes as they can be very close to the manager for at least 45 mins. Poor first half and he can make a big impact off the bench.

No Ramsey means options were limited, McGinn on left wing. Tielemans a big option off bench.

Back four worries me a little, Moreno hasn’t looked as good as Digne has yet, hopefullly another step towards his full recovery today.  The high line looks more.vulnerable with the lack of pace of Lenglet & Diego…also neither are as good on ball as Pau.  Frustrates me that our best available centre half is wasted at right back.

Front 6 look good tho & also good to see Teilemans fit again to push Dendoncker down the pecking order.£

Also, if Everton sit in the low block as Sheff U & Burnley did we really need to some shots in from distance to mix it up a bit.

He was at fault for that goal v Burnley when he came in half fit so best we wait until he's fully fit before trying Torres again.

I'll tell you who needs a big game today, Diego Carlos. I'm not in agreement at all to move Konsa to accommodate him.

I think it's more because Torres is out. He's stressed he likes a left footer in there, so Lenglet has to play, and then he probably wants Carlos to deal with Dominic Duckworth-Lewis.

Konsa at right back, gives us extra height & Moreno more freedom to go forward. Get the first goal & give away nothing.

David Coote, who looks like he should be in Wallace & Grommet is the ref. Probably the weakest ref in the league.

Indeed, every player will have extremely specific roles and their selection for those roles will be back up by all sorts of observations and data. Doesn't mean it will work! Just that a ridiculous amount of thought goes into everything with this guy.

You get those games at Goodison, always feels tight matches with them playing pretty narrow so not much space to open things up and in their present situation they'll want to make the game as scrappy as possible.

We had similar at Brentford and won that so no reason why we can't do the same this time.

I see everton commiting 3 men to win the ball in midfield on many occassions. It's a high risk strategy, how long can they keep doing that? surely they'll run out of energy If we can release the ball quicker their entire midfield is in no mans land and we can capitalise.

McGinn has given the ball away a ridiculous amount of times. Bailey looks sharp I think.

Think Watkins and Luiz have been outstanding. Moreno very good. Loved the way after their strong start our midfield two took charge. You can hear how nervy the crowd were getting. Lenglet has been very good too.

Martinez bailed out Carlos big time with that save at the end. He lost his bearings completely.

I'd keep a bit more faith in Diaby, just think there is space there that can be exploited. Tielemans hasnt played in weeks so 30 mins likely to be the max he can do today.

We've made them chase quite a lot in that first half.  And there have been numerous times they've pressed us high and we've passed it around them.  That's going to take it's toll in their legs as the game comes toward the end.  I suspect we'll finish strongly, and maybe a couple of fresh legs off the bench will be the thing we need to break the deadlock.

Very disappointed for Moreno, an excellent finish.  I think Bailey was a bit lazy getting out, which is poor from him.

Moreno seems to be getting 1v1 with Coleman quite a bit, I'm surprised he hasn't knocked it past him and tried to run around him yet.

I'd like to get another look at the tackle that injured McGinn, looked studs up in real time but it's been completely ignored.

65 mins and Villa bring on their Belgian midfielder who's had an injury.

City did the same yesterday on 69 minutes.

De Bruyne scored one and created one.

And that's the difference between them and us.

Better depth of quality.

Even if it was, the DCL rescinded card shows studs up is allowed by Everton players this season by the PL.

First foul there was clearly Tarkowski pushing Watkins into an offside position, again the ref decided to punoish the reaction instead.

We played into Everton's hands there, allowed them to rattle us.
