Fucking hell
-
By all means, take your time Jack.
-
How long was Jack out in the promotion season? Going to be out for longer here if he's had a setback.
I mean he's been training all week yet can't even make the bench?!
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
-
Bugger.
Win please and get us back on track
-
Wonder whats happened?
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
Because that's what his parents decided to name him.
-
I wonder if there’s something going on with Jack? The social media in the week hinted he was ready to play: Another injury? Still not ready? just seems strange.
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EyIpK_RW8AAeFe_?format=jpg&name=medium)
-
Bullocks. Oh well the good news is the longer he is out the less likely someone will try to buy him next season!
-
Are his shins fucked forever ?
Load of shite...same formation, same out of form midfield.
Give Meatball a free role at least, about time he replicated his Scotland form for the Villa.
-
God help Liverpool when we cut Jack loose next week.
-
Ffs, beyond gutted
-
The team needs to step up today. The season is fizzling out and all they have proved over the last couple of months is that we are well and truly a one man team.
-
Are his shins fucked forever ?
Load of shite...same formation, same out of form midfield.

Meatball?!?
-
There is something not right about this
" back fully training"
"Ready togo after internationals "
" back for Fulham"
Be interesting to hear wwhat reason Dean offers
-

SJM
-
It is very strange though as Dean said he’s back and raring to go, unless he’s playing mind games
-
Oh bollocks.
I really hope we’ve had a good think over the last week and realised our game plan isn’t working and try something different, especially trying to utilise McGinn. Come on Smith, let’s attack with more fluidity please.
-
This week to week thing is horrible and as usual Smith will not have a viable alternative plan.
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EyIpK_RW8AAeFe_?format=jpg&name=medium)
Putting the team in number instead of position order wankers.
-
There is something not right about this
I fear the same.
0-0 today. If we're lucky.
-
There was footage of him ‘back on the grass’ in the week, but interestingly no footage of him actually playing.
-
This week to week thing is horrible and as usual Smith will not have a viable alternative plan.
Yep, I fear the same.
-
Bullshitter Smith
-
Wonder whats happened?
I wouldn't expect any sort of clarity from the club
-
Perfect day for Fulham so far. Newcastle losing, hearing that Jack is out....a massive confidence booster for them.
-
It's just one of those things, thought he was fine but felt it again, don't see why the fuss. It happens.
-
I thought Jack was 99.9 certain to play today? Or have I imagined that?
Whichever way you look at this it is a long-term injury.
-
I'd take the draw now.
-
He pulled up in training yesterday apparently.
-
Pulled up in training yesterday apparently.
-
What does that mean?
-
Pulled up in training yesterday apparently.
-
Just mentioned on sky he pulled up intraining yesterday
Shit happens
Its not what you are dealt, itshow you deal with it.
Iwould imagine Mcginn is raring to go and full of confidence
-
And a new H&V meme thing is born!
-
What does that mean?
Another 5 games out knowing us
-
A lot of over reaction to Jack not playing. If he’s fit he plays. It’s a shame but as an earlier post stated, these things happen.
-
What does that mean?
It means he was fine yesterday then had a bit of a reaction so better safe than sorry. It happens all the time in football but at Villa it also means the manager is the antichrist.
-
It is very strange though as Dean said he’s back and raring to go, unless he’s playing mind games
Mind games are a bit pointless, Fulham will be laughing at him not being available given how poor we were for most parts of the game v likes of Sheffield United and Newcastle.
One of the more winnable games for Fulham in the run in and Mitrovic scored a few for Serbia.
-
Wish Smith would be braver ,all the exciting youngsters we have andhe sticks with the same boring old subs who are just not good enough
-
There’s always different rumours when Jack is involved. But don’t believe everything you read in the internet.

He lied to us! He's part of the liberal elite, Great Barr has got posh bits.
-
Yes, of course ‘these things happen’ and ‘he’ll be back when he’s ready’.
The issue is that without him we a just aren’t very good, so excuse some for being a little bit pissed off.
-

His nickname at Scotland. Far more creative than the woeful "Ginny".

It’s Easter Sunday, let’s hope for the resurrection.

I'm gutted mate, but it nobody's fault.
Apart from the English referees that have let every clogger have a couple free hits before pulling out a card for the last few years.
-
Wish Smith would be braver ,all the exciting youngsters we have andhe sticks with the same boring old subs who are just not good enough
This, for me. Either by accident or design, we are a one-man team at present and the pessimism surrounding us isn't going to lift until Grealish returns, so why not shake things up? We're not going down; we won't get a European spot; we've done so much better than last year. Use the rest of the season to try a few things out, instead of sticking to the same team and sweating over whether we finish 12th or 9th.

Agreed
-
Right, regardless of Jack in or out, Smith needs a performance today. Doesn’t appear to have learnt anything, based off that team and formation.... can pretty much read how the match will play out already.
It hasn’t worked since Jack has been out, and he also reverts to playing McGinn at DM, nullifying his attacking ability, which in itself seems insane considering what he’s achieved over the last week, even in a shite Scotland team!
Should have been 442 today.... vital match to make sure this season doesn’t fizzle into obscurity
-
Be better than last time please.
-
More concerned that although Deano has had the international break to try different things out we are still stuck with plan A, which hasn't worked for ages but by some miracle will happen today.
Suppose we live in hope!
-
There’s always different rumours when Jack is involved. But don’t believe everything you read in the internet.
Did Abraham Lincoln say that?
-
Gutted but this is still a game we should win, Ollie and SJM's confidences must be high and hopefully they will show that today.
-
I think we missed a big opportunity today to start differently, with Ramsey and Nakamba in for AEG and Traore; with McGinn and Sanson pushed upfield.
and I think Fulham may well turn us over with the team we have out there. I hope I'm wrong.
-
There’s always different rumours when Jack is involved. But don’t believe everything you read in the internet.
Please disregard the above. There are never different rumours when Jack is involved and you can believe everything you read on the internet.
-
More to Jack than Shin Splints. Hey ho. I've had a fiver Traore to score first, 3 nil Villa.
-
Good luck Smith. No reason a Leeds team should be above us. We’ve spent zillions compared to them..
-
Same injury then, that’s not good. Is there a cure for shin splints?
-
Same injury then, that’s not good. Is there a cure for shin splints?
No. Just rest I think.
-
I wasn't that confident even with Jack likely to play. Glad Trez isn't in but would have like him to try Davies up front alongside Ollie just for something different.
-
From Ashley Preece
#avfc trained yesterday and Jack felt some discomfort; was due to start against Fulham but Saturday's setback has forced Smith's hand not to risk it. A real shame; skipper must have been devastated; he's itching to get back. Focus now on in-form McGinn & Villa's internationals.
-
Saturday's setback referring to Wes?
-
Fulham have gone eight away games without defeat.
Fulham's only away win at Villa Park in seventeen attempts came in their last game at Villa park seventeen years ago.
-
Time for positivity.
Win and we go 9th. 5 points off a European spot with a game in hand.
-
Saturday's setback referring to Wes?
Assume it means the set back was to Jack during training
-
Saturday's setback referring to Wes?
No...Jack pulling up in training.
-
OK, no Jack. There you go. Hope we can just put in a performance that gets us off our feet. It's been a while.
Hope that Ollie isn't forced to chase long balls down the channels all game. Hope El Ghazi and Traore can provide the creativity that we've been missing for weeks. Hope the link up play with Ollie can show some imagination and footballing intelligence.
Here's hoping.....
-
Fulham have gone eight away games without defeat.

So they haven't won at VP in 17 years 🙃
-
So you know these rumours that keep doing the rounds? Does anyone know who was pulling off Jack in training?
-
I read Dean’s comments very carefully. That’s why I posted on Friday that I didn’t think Jack would probably be in the squad after DS said there was a possibility of Jack featuring in the squad. Pease Dean, stop the mind games as they make FA difference and, just tell us fans honestly what the hell is going on.
Even worse with Jack being out, the team he has named is so piss poor. He hasn’t learned a thing from our last half a dozen or so matches.
-
Fulham have gone eight away games without defeat.

No, Damo. That can't be true. I saw Fulham beat us 2-1 about 5 years ago. Keiron Richardson scored the winner against us and Lowton made the most unbelievable goal line clearance during the game.

No, Damo. That can't be true. I saw Fulham beat us 2-1 about 5 years ago. Keiron Richardson lashed one in against us and Lowton made an unbelievable goal line clearance.
I didn't think those stats added up. I got the info from the BBC website's pre match bullet points.
-
Jack's been out for so long we're bound to have a contingency plan for this.
-
Saturday's setback referring to Wes?
No...Jack pulling up in training.
Cheers.
-
Deano said in his pre match interview with SKY that Jack had trained for ten minutes in the week and pulled up in discomfort so was not being risked today.
-
Meatball?!?
SJM
His nickname at Scotland. Far more creative than the woeful "Ginny".
Agreed and a lot safer to use when discussing him in an Italian-American restaurant.
-
Where are all our ITKs gone?
Todays line up is horrible.
-
Dean Smith on the absence of Jack Grealish today "He's trained this week and was looking good, but had some discomfort yesterday, so pulled out after 10 minutes in training, so we're on the side of caution as we must do with these injuries.” #avfc
These injuries...
-
Jack's been out for so long we're bound to have a contingency plan for this.
;D
-
Just seen Smith’s prematch interview.... not sure he’s been watching the same games as us?!
On thin ice for me now- Getting a performance out of a squad of players that cost the same amount as the national debt of a small country, should NOT hinge on the availability of one player, no matter how good he is.
Same dysfunctional formation and lineup.. when will he realise it’s not working!?
And yes, I REALLY hope this post comes back to bite me in the ass at FT 😉
-
Whatever jack’s injury.. if we can’t wallop Fulham, serious questions need to be asked.
-
Dean answering questions with, "Yes, no..."
-
Where are all our ITKs gone?
Todays line up is horrible.
We have ITK's?
-
Jack is not injured.Other.
-
Dean answering questions with, "Yes, no..."
Which he’s done since his first press conference since arriving to be fair.
-
Whatever jack’s injury.. if we can’t wallop Fulham, serious questions need to be asked.
I don’t think anyone has been walloping Fulham recently have they? Still, I agree that we need to prove that we can win without Jack. We haven’t managed to do so in the last few games.
-
Where are all our ITKs gone?
Todays line up is horrible.
We have ITK's?
I thought you were the one ITK so clearly not ;)
-
More like KFA.
-
Jack is not injured.Other.
You been on the pop Alex?
-
Jack is not injured.Other.
You been on the pop Alex?
Just heard some rather disturbing news re Jack.
-

Go on ...
-
McGinn getting forward early on. Good to see.
-
Whatever Alex is about to say, thank goodness we’re safe.
-
Good save Emi
-
Not a particularly encouraging start.
-
Mitrovic already looking dangerous
-
We are playing like schoolkids at the moment
-
Shite so far.
-
Jack is not injured.Other.
You been on the pop Alex?
Just heard some rather disturbing news re Jack.
Pray tell??
-
Good play John.
-
So far, toothless, and conceded two shots on target and two corners. not impressive.
-
At this stage I think it would be better to keep shtum.
-
I can’t see us winning more than 1 more game at best. We are dire without Jack. Pressure is going to be on Dean very soon.
-
At this stage I think it would be better to keep shtum.
Why mention anything if you're not going to tell us more?
-
At this stage I think it would be better to keep shtum.
Why say anything in the 1st place then?
-
Just to iterate its not an injury ok.
-
At this stage I think it would be better to keep shtum.
OK mate, sure. What is it then? On strike to force a move? In jail for smuggling Serbian radiators? The hint hint game does nothing you know.
-
Just to iterate its not an injury ok.
You big tease, you!
-
Absolute trash that El Ghazi
-
Not only are we very pedestrian, we're really boring to watch without Jack. Too many long balls.
-
Just to iterate its not an injury ok.
Either say what you have heard or don’t. Give up on the whole “I know something you don’t, wink wink” bollocks
-
El Ghazi is abysmal. How have we ended up with a set of such utterly shit wingers?
-
Fucking hell El Khazi...
-
At this stage I think it would be better to keep shtum.
Why mention anything if you're not going to tell us more?
Exactly.
-
Backwards and sideways
-
This is dross.
I wonder if Jack will ever play for us again?
-
Sensational lay-off by El Ghazi.... For Fulham. Caused a yellow card for Luiz...
-
McGuinn bet player on the park at the moment, good to see
-
What happened to the team that dazzled us before the new year?
-
Terrible Cash.
-
What happened to the team that dazzled us before the new year?
Indeed. I’ve started tutting again 🙄
-
Just to iterate its not an injury ok.
Then what the fuck is it
-
Alex, you're gonna get all kinds of theories mate....I'll throw one in: he's off to Citeh in May ::)
-
Cannot see where we are going to get a goal from
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
Because that's the name he was given.
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
Because that's the name he was given.
Very good!!
-
What happened to the team that dazzled us before the new year?
ask Alex Croperly
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
Because that's what his parents decided to name him.
Ah, you saw to that earlier. Cheers!
-
What happened to the team that dazzled us before the new year?
Indeed. I’ve started tutting again 🙄
I’m tutting too. The cat on my lap is so bored she’s fast asleep.
-
Not much better than last year I'm afraid, good job we got early points
-
We need three quality signings this summer: two first choice wingers, and a centre forward to compete with/support Ollie. I reckon about 70 million should do it.
-
What Alex is hinting at is Jack was delayed arriving after the family all got questioned by police for lack of social distancing at the Easter church service.
-
Just to iterate its not an injury ok.
Then what the fuck is it
It’s shit talking
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???

Ah, you saw to that earlier. Cheers!
Linguistic standards need to be maintained.
-

....plus a manager that has a Plan B

what is the opposite of ITK?
-

Not afraid of the wonder dog then!
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EyIvM2zWQAY1ZxU?format=jpg&name=medium)
That should be frightening enough for Fulham.
COYVB!
As for Jack, speculation time: he’s switched to rugby, failed a Covid test or been sold to Barcelona.
-

Would be very nice.
-
We've brought the high press back into our game.
-
Fuck me we're tedious.
-
Wherefore art thou Jack???
Because that's what his parents decided to name him.
Ah, you saw to that earlier. Cheers!
Linguistic standards need to be maintained.
It's the most entertaining thing to do with Villa this afternoon, so far.
-
This is a bit better.
-
This is a bit better.
Are you doing a jigsaw or the washing up?
-
McGinn is in the mood today.
-
Fuck me we're tedious.
It’s so slow and laborious. It’s my biggest criticism of Dean Smith. Obviously with Jack we are so much better but the drop off without him simply should not be this drastic. It’s painful to watch.
-
When the commentator says Mitrovic hasnt scored in 21 premier league games, you know it won't be 22.
-
I think if Fulham could choose anyone to play at the moment it would be us.
-
Poor quality game so far. Won the ball well in the final 3rd, but no real threat out wide. El Ghazi in particular hasn't turned up.
I'd be thinking about some help for Watkins with Davis 2nd half.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
-
This is horrendous. Thank god we got those early wins is all I can say, as this is is relegation levels of form and performance.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
-
This could very easily be two relegation threatened sides playing each other. The quality is awful.
-
The best forward pass so far Traore for Fulham
-
Traore and El Ghazi are just shockingly poor. Both have been more of a threat to our defence than to Fulham's so far.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
me neither
-
This formation is great wth Jack but utter shite with Traore and El Khazi
-
It's just so incredibly boring to watch; a game plan bereft of any sort of excitement, guile, speed, skill, cohesion. What a strange way to play football.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
He's doing a lot of calling for the ball and then just passing it backward.
-
We are well organised defensively.
Other than that the last 6 games and more have been every bit as bad as pre lockdown 1.
-
Traore and El Ghazi are just shockingly poor. Both have been more of a threat to our defence than to Fulham's so far.
Traore and AEG were in great form at the turn of the year.
-
We lack any kind of sharpness, slow and clumsy
-
Is Jack at the game? No close up as yet.
-
The gravity appears a little stronger in Birmingham than Fulham are used to.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
I don’t think he’s very good. I’d rather Barkley was playing
-
Not only are the wide men both wank, but the balance in the centre of midfield is wrong too. They don't seem to know when to go forward and when to sit back.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
I was just thinking this.
-
It's been as bad as this for weeks and there is no sign that Dean or the coaching team are looking to change things. This is rank.
-
The good news is we have built a decent defence no matter what
-
Which side is currently in the bottom three? It’s hard to tell on this.
-
Mings needs to be careful. He had a right handful of RLC shirt in the last set play.
-
Any one still think Sanson is a Defensive Midfield player?
No idea what he is to be honest.
I was just thinking this.
Idrissa Gaye without the interceptions.
-
It's been as bad as this for weeks and there is no sign that Dean or the coaching team are looking to change things. This is rank.
Smith was banging on in the pre-match interviews about how sharp they all looked in training, then they serve up this dross.
-
Traore and El Ghazi are just shockingly poor. Both have been more of a threat to our defence than to Fulham's so far.
Traore and AEG were in great form at the turn of the year.
That was 3 months ago....
-
Neither of those wingers should be back out for second half, absolute pish
-
Beyond El Ghazi? Everything is beyond him.
-
El Ghazi looks like he's been prescribed Mogadon.
-
Luiz doesn’t look too interested today
-
Newcastle looked much better than us earlier!
-
I would much rather try some youngsters out and give them a taste than watch Traore for another second. He has his defenders here, but I do not know why. He is so poor. You have to question whoever green-lighted that purchase. He is so clearly one-footed that, unless he is Robben-like, you should never buy a player who with such a liability.
-
Luiz is going to get sent off here.
-
Taken as a group, we must have the three shittest wingers in the Premier League. If they were still playing for other teams I wouldn't want any of them on a free transfer. Terrible, all of them.
-
We look better than we did against Newcastle.
But it's thin gruel.
-
Luiz doesn’t look too interested today
That challenge just underlining your point.
-

I'm with you, he's abysmal.
-
From absolutely loving watching us we are right back to this being such a chore. We are going to end the season if Jack doesn’t return in the lower half around 13th/14th. From where we were and what we had aspirations for, that will be absolutely dreadful.
-
Traore and El Ghazi are just shockingly poor. Both have been more of a threat to our defence than to Fulham's so far.
Traore and AEG were in great form at the turn of the year.
That was 3 months ago....
I'm just wondering if they had Covid.
-
Sanson is this seasons Samatta
-
Clinton Morrison on the BBC 'This is a good 0-0. There's things happening - good, sharp play in and around the box. Both teams are doing well. It's a really interesting game.'
-
Loftus-Cheek just brushed McGinn aside like he wasn't there. Ths is really, really poor.
-
Sanson is this seasons Samatta
As if like magic........
-
Even without Jack I still believe there is enough quality in this side to finish top half. I hate to say it but i think the problem lies with the coaching department.
-
Loftus Cheek looks very strong on the ball. Running through our midfield
-

I am disappointed, we had a chance to really get ourselves in amongst the top half and we have bottled it.
-
Clinton Morrison on the BBC 'This is a good 0-0. There's things happening - good, sharp play in and around the box. Both teams are doing well. It's a really interesting game.'
Personally, I think it's shit.
-
Wonder if we will score again in my lifetime. Even just creating one good chance seems to be beyond us.
-
Fulham look much more dangerous. Our set pieces and crosses are abysmal.
-
Sanson is this seasons Samatta
He looks best wide left, not in the middle where other players just walz through him as if he wasn't there.
-
Loftus Cheek looks very strong on the ball. Running through our midfield
Would have been the better option, rather than Barkley.
-

So do I. Wonder what match he's watching?
-
Nakamba has just had to skim through about 5 screens on a large tablet before coming on. Is he playing football or participating in Mastermind?
-
This is absolutely diabolical stuff.
-
It’s becoming so poor I’m laughing at that free kick from luiz
-
Sigh
-
He’s had no plan B, or even a glimmer of a plan B since he came in. With Jack, we’re not bad. Without him, it shows Dean’s tactical nous out for what it is.... garbage!
I love him as a bloke, and the whole Villa link is great and everything, but if we’re being honest with ourselves, he’s never gonna cut it for the level we could reach with this squad and backing. Just a question of how long the owners are going to put up with it..... and/or the fans
-
Free kick routine first devised by the Marx Brothers there
-
Nakamba has just had to skim through about 5 screens on a large tablet before coming on. Is he playing football or participating in Mastermind?
He was showing him houses for sale in Harare on Rightmove.
-
Liquid football.
-
We’ve become John Gregory’s Villa at the end. Just stick a nil at the end of the club name
-
Peno
-
Penalty
-
Penalty.
-
Us?
-
Penalty
-
Us?
Yes
-
Who's taking it then?
-
What I am not seeing is any attacking patterns at all. When we go forward everyone stands around like "now what do we do?". No througballs, no one-twos. Just play it wide to Traore or El Ghazi and wait for them to run down a blind alley and lose it.
VAR will overrule the pen.
-
No pen.....he got the ball
-
I reckon no.
-
VAR
-
Dont think it is a penalty to be honest
-
He won’t give it now
-
This is going to be disallowed
-
Overruled - sums us up at the moment... :'(
-
Never mind reviewing the Watkins. Mginn was fouled first
-
Never a pen, wins the ball.
-
Really bright play from Watkin's there.
Oh, Oh, ref's been told to go to the monitor.
Sorry, was that clear and obvious?
-
Was never a pen. Defender got the ball.
-
How is that clear and obvious???
-
I dunno whether to laugh or cry
-
Of course.
-
He got the ball but could Ollie have still got to it? That's the question.
-
Garbage/10.... as predicted.
-
Wasting my sunday here..
-
He wins the ball, but Watkins is there first. It was a foul on McGinn too.
-
How is that clear and obvious???
The defender gets the ball clearly and obviously.
-
What would be the tune if the words are ‘we’re just a one man team’
-
I thought that was a nailed on penalty.
-
I love how VAR watches 20 different angles but then only shows the ref 1
-
Really bright play from Watkin's there.
Oh, Oh, ref's been told to go to the monitor.
Sorry, was that clear and obvious?
unfortunately yes
-
He’s had no plan B, or even a glimmer of a plan B since he came in.
Just a question of how long the owners are going to put up with it..... and/or the fans
very much this......it's frustrating to say the least ....from top 10 aspirations to hopefully finishing above 15/16th.......typical Villa
-
Is the plan to gum Fulham to death working?
-
A shot on target would be nice.
-
No pen
-
Might put the last few episodes of Sunderland ‘til I die on. Gotta be more entertaining than this.
-
That was a poor half of football. Dear me.
-
Woeful. This persistence with 433 with really shit wingers is really starting to piss me off.
-
Bit of VAR controversy for Smith to blindside the fans/press post match 👌🏼
-
Just sums things up for me.
At least SJM shows life, some fucking spark about his play.
We should take Luiz off before he gets sent off, having said that, the lad who gave away the “penalty” has had 4 fouls now without getting a card.
The only thing I’ve seen AEG do is set up an attack for Fulham.
-
Didn't even look at the challenge on John.
-
If that pen had been awarded to manure or Citeh, the review would have taken 5 seconds and the pen given.
-
I didn’t realise Ollie was still playing up until that point. Give the man a chance and get someone next to him in attack, even if it’s Davis. Pretty piss poor performance all round and our set pieces are abysmal.
-
Any chance El Ghazi could impose himself on the game? If the ball isn't coming to your wing, fcuking demand it.
-
Bit of a weird one, from one view it never looks a penalty but there is another view and it looks different.
Not a penalty for me though.
-
Forty-five minutes of total gash, punctuated with occasional moments of downright bollocks.
-
50/50 decision tbh, crap end to a crap half. Will we see any changes at beginning of second half? 🤔
-
Poor half, the midfield offer very little. Very little movement off the ball and the only threat is set pieces and those have been poor.
-

Agree with you, Nii.
-
I'm pleased we haven't conceded because we all know how that pans out.
-
Any chance El Ghazi could impose himself on the game? If the ball isn't coming to your wing, fcuking demand it.
He is just.. insipid. Doesn't assert himself. No aggression. No dynamism.
-
It's simple, if it involves a potential goal for Villa, the Immanuel in Stockley Park needs every available angle to find something.
-
Had trouble getting the stream up so only been watching from about 20th minute.....45th minute was genuinely the first time I heard AEG's name mentioned! For one of the three in the attack, that simply isn't good enough. At least for all his flaws Traore wants to get on the ball constantly and make things happen, El Ghazi is simply hiding out there.
Same old same old really, we're trying but there's a complete lack of confidence in final third and players simply don't believe they can do stuff like scoring a goal without Jack out there so a pretty depressing sight.
Shame given I've enjoyed most of this season but it really does have a feeling now of I wouldn't care less if this was our final game, all petered out too easily once again.
-
Watkins got to the ball first based on the angle they didn’t show to the ref. But the Fulham player then gets the ball cleanly. No idea why they had to get the ref to look at a monitor.
-
Extremely disappointing how dismally this season has fizzled out, with Smith doing nothing about it.
-
our attacking midfielders are piss poor.
-
McGinn in the advanced midfield role is a positive change, but Nakamba should be behind him, not Sanson. If Sanson hadn't taken a knock, I'd do Nakamba <-> El Ghazi and put Sanson on the left.
But another idea would be Sanson <-> Davis. Go 442 and give Davis 45. Why not? The first half was no better than any of the last 7 games and the second half is not likely to be any better if we stay the same, with a scrappy goal for Fulham probably giving them the win.
-
He wins the ball, but Watkins is there first. It was a foul on McGinn too.
No, he was relying on his arse as usual.
-
What happened to the team that played like Brazil 70 for 45 mins at Turf Moor?
-
Luiz is going to get sent off here.
Looks a nigh on certainty. Back four have done well, McGinn started very well. The rest, including Martinez, have been rubbish. Nakamba will surely come on at the break and I'd try Davis for El Ghazi too, shift Watkins to the left.
-
What happened to the team that played like Brazil 70 for 45 mins at Turf Moor?
they won 3-2 that day
-
He wins the ball, but Watkins is there first. It was a foul on McGinn too.
No, he was relying on his arse as usual.
He rolls him, its a foul the referee has given 3 or 4 times already in the game.
-

Is that a proposition Joe?
-
What happened to the team that played like Brazil 70 for 45 mins at Turf Moor?
They lost at Southampton.
-
Extremely disappointing how dismally this season has fizzled out, with Smith doing nothing about it.
it’s like 4 3 3 has been stamped indelibly on his brain. Wait for the 65 th minute substitution
-

Absolutely with you on this. Dean has got to try to generate some sort of spark. Not Trezeguet for Traore 65 minutes then Davis for El Ghazi 85.
-
Decent shift from SJM about sums up the midfield and attack , the are some pretty woeful displays out there. Luis sideways freekick, Ghazi can not beat the wall Sansom back from a visit to Delilah and Trarore is he still on the pitch ?
Change the format Dean
I think its a good job the stadium is empty.
-
I agree, Smith has been very patient with thus syetm.and El Ghazi/Traore. Its just not happened post return. Getting somebody closer to Watkins is worth a go.
Barkely and Davis on, wingers off.
-
We always end up with a stubborn manager.
-
Extremely disappointing how dismally this season has fizzled out, with Smith doing nothing about it.
it’s like 4 3 3 has been stamped indelibly on his brain. Wait for the 65 th minute substitution
He makes a rod for his own back does Smith.
-
.....and we were going to bring on Marvellous for Sanson!
-
No pen- correct decision.
Nice to see McGinn further forward.
Agree Nakamba would then , actually always, be the better choice.
It takes Smith a bit longer than most, but he’ll get there.. he seems to have cottoned on to the Mcginn bit
-
At least with the penalty not being given we won’t have to watch El Ghazi strutting around and hitting 40 yarders because all of a sudden he’s Ronaldo after (maybe) scoring a penalty after doing fuck all for the rest of the game.
-
Extremely disappointing how dismally this season has fizzled out, with Smith doing nothing about it.
it’s like 4 3 3 has been stamped indelibly on his brain. Wait for the 65 th minute substitution
Yep. Looking forward to the Trez for El Ghazi/Traore sub. No doubt it will galvanise us the same way it has on all the other occasions this season.
-
The only positive I can take from today is that I'm not there so don't have to battle to get the train home after the game
-
Watkins got to the ball first based on the angle they didn’t show to the ref. But the Fulham player then gets the ball cleanly. No idea why they had to get the ref to look at a monitor.
I thought it was a certain pen on the first two replays, thought Lemina barely moaning to the ref was a tell tale sign. On others it does look Fulham player toed the ball but replays were hardly from great angles to be clear.
Was actually more annoyed a few minutes before when the Fulham player just slipped over and Traore got called for the foul when he'd passed it to Ollie, can't believe he didn't just play on and let VAR sort that.
-
I agree, Smith has been very patient with thus syetm.and El Ghazi/Traore. Its just not happened post return. Getting somebody closer to Watkins is worth a go.
Barkely and Davis on, wingers off.
fully agree, Watkins again looks very lonely --not an impressive first half---need to improve if we want the points,
-
Deano is seemingly incapable of changing from 433 or playing without Jack. It will cost him his job at some point.
-
I agree, Smith has been very patient with thus syetm.and El Ghazi/Traore. Its just not happened post return. Getting somebody closer to Watkins is worth a go.
Barkely and Davis on, wingers off.
Yep, go 2 upfront and have Barkley roaming behind them. It might not work but 4-3-1-2 is worth a go second half rather than the more predictable let Trez have a run around for last 25 minutes.
-
How have we ended up as woeful as last year? Our belief seems to have evaporated
-
We will no doubt toss Davis on with 15 to go. It will be utterly useless. That why I said before, play him from the start if you want to see if it can work. He won’t score but maybe his presence allows us to play a different way and he can bring other players into the game. This will be the same old same old yet again.
-
We haven't played any decent attacking football since Burnley and we even contrived to lose that. We're as dull as fuck to watch, no spark, no flair, no zip. It's like watching a pudding slowly set.
-
I feel really sorry for Watkins. The attacking players around him seem to have no idea of how to play to his strengths. However this is about being on the training pitch and coaching and how we play.
-
El ghazi again...miles from goal but has a wild swing at it
-
Swap Traore/ Trez/AEG for one decent player, we’d be so much better off
-
I feel really sorry for Watkins. The attacking players around him seem to have no idea of how to play to his strengths. However this is about being on the training pitch and coaching and how we play.
True to an extent....but when he does get it his touch is really poor.
-
Villa Park seemingly turning more into a beach for Villa with each passing game.
-
Swap Traore/ Trez/AEG for one decent player, we’d be so much better off
I agree. It won't take much, we really are carrying two players in every game at the moment.
-
We are out of ideas and have been for some time.
-
Fucking quality slice from el ghazi
-
Fucking quality slice from el ghazi
Ha ha I would even laugh at that on Sunday league
-
This is worse than some of the stuff we served up last season.
-
El Ghazi is infuriating.
-
Haha! El Ghazi.
-
Traore running down cul de sacs as usual.
-
We have probably overachieved this season but the reliance on jack, lack of a plan b and again having a striker who doesn’t score is dreadful. We need a team of players at jacks level and more progressive thinking from dean. These slumps need addressing ASAP as they are damaging
-
Fucking quality slice from el ghazi
Yes, fucking hell, what a waste of a shirt
-
We’re just so uncomfortable in possession they don’t even need to tackle us.
-
0 shots on target.
-
Seems easier for our lot to just go to ground than actually try taking players on. Have we had a shot yet?
-
We could be out there on our own, and still not create a chance. This is abysmal.
-
You know how Jack's vision sometimes makes it look like he's playing Fifa? El Ghazi's the same. Except he's shit at Fifa.
-
Fcuking change it!
-
So so frustrating watching Traore, Sanson and AEG. Until we get real quality in that midfield this is what we’re gonna get.
-
You know how Jack's vision sometimes makes it look like he's playing Fifa? El Ghazi's the same. Except he's shit at Fifa.
It’s like he’s playing FIFA with his feet not his thumbs.
-
Bruceball
-
Can see us conceding a sloppy goal and losing one nil. Mr Cheerful, me.
-
Fcuking change it!
He will in 20 or so
-
I agree with whoever suggested giving some of our highly rate youngsters a run out, rather than the same old rubbish we've been dished up recently.
-
Fcuking change it!
He will in 20 or so
Trez for El Ghazi. Then 5 minutes later, Davis for Traore.
-
Even if Jack is out the rest of the team shouldn’t be this shit.
-
Gat el ghazi off, bring Davis on and go 2 up front for half an hour
-
El Ghazi has taken useless to new heights.
-
It is gone so stale.
-
We have probably overachieved this season but the reliance on jack, lack of a plan b and again having a striker who doesn’t score is dreadful. We need a team of players at jacks level and more progressive thinking from dean. These slumps need addressing ASAP as they are damaging
Watkins is the 10th top scorer in the league, why make up things to be upset about when there are so many other issues?
-
Commentators sound as bored as us.
-
You know how Jack's vision sometimes makes it look like he's playing Fifa? El Ghazi's the same. Except he's shit at Fifa.
El Ghazi's playing like the CPU on amateur difficulty setting.
-
An hour without a shot on target at home to Fulham.
-
THIS IS UTTER SHIT.
-
You know how Jack's vision sometimes makes it look like he's playing Fifa? El Ghazi's the same. Except he's shit at Fifa.
It’s like he’s playing FIFA with his feet not his thumbs.
Dressed in full kit and blindfolded.
-
Behind....game over
-
El Ghazi has taken useless to new heights.
How can Smith look at his performance and think that it's in any way acceptable? Why is he still on the pitch?
-
And there you go.
-
Oh shit
-
Mings back to his old ways. That's all we fucking need.
-
Pass left. Pass right. Pass back. Hoof.
Lost the ball.
-
Can see us conceding a sloppy goal and losing one nil. Mr Cheerful, me.
Cheerful Devilla, sounds like a character from 101 Dalmations
-
Mitrovic scores. At least it might stop us from being the last game on MOTD.
-
There you fucking go.
-
Great
-
Fuck off Mings. Game over.
-
We have probably overachieved this season but the reliance on jack, lack of a plan b and again having a striker who doesn’t score is dreadful. We need a team of players at jacks level and more progressive thinking from dean. These slumps need addressing ASAP as they are damaging
Watkins is the 10th top scorer in the league, why make up things to be upset about when there are so many other issues?
Sorry, should have made it clear it’s Davis I’ve an axe to grind with when coming off the bench.
-
Tossers
-
oh Mings
-
Fuck off Mings you clown.
What a fucking disgrace this is!
-
Mings with his usual. To be fair, it’s been a while.
-
When you first thought is always to go fucking backwards.....
-
What's Vassilev up to these days? Surely he could run around to better effect than Trez and offer more than AEG?
-
Well done Tyrone, FFS.
-
Does Smith even know other formations exist? The plank.
-
Hopefully this will wake us up.
-
Utter fucking wank. I don’t blame the defence at all. Asking them to not concede to give us a chance at a point is really unfair. They have been superb. But this is beyond shit now. We’ve spent way too much money to be this bad. And as good as we thought Dean Smith was or was becoming it is now being proven without a shadow of a doubt it was all Jack.
-
Well that wasn't predictable
-
Can't say that's not deserved either.
-
Oh well at least we can watch Trez put in a shift and produce fuck all for half an hour.
-
Hopefully this will wake us up.
Hahahaha
-
Game over yet again. Think Smith is going to make a very sub....Trez on for El Ghazi...a game changer!!
-
That's why Konsa is a far superior player to Mings.
-
Hopefully this will wake us up.
Not a chance.
-
That's Sunday League defending. You should be ashamed Mings. Mitrovic not scored against September? What team do you want to play aginst to put that right?
-
AEG off....trez on......so fucking predictable
-
Booooooo
-
Can see us conceding a sloppy goal and losing one nil. Mr Cheerful, me.
Hate to say it but.....
-
Trezeguet for El-Ghazi, 62 minutes 😂😂😂
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.
-
trez as usual - all boring bollocks ..no plan B
-
62mins - El Ghazi for Trez. You couldn’t write this shit?!
Smith has got off lightly for the last year without fans in Villa Park, cos there’s no way they’d be served up this tripe willingly, game after game.
-
What's Vassilev up to these days? Surely he could run around to better effect than Trez and offer more than AEG?
Out on loan.
-
Game over - we are dross at the moment.
-
Fcuking change it!
He will in 20 or so
Trez for El Ghazi. Then 5 minutes later, Davis for Traore.
Utterly predictable from Dismal Dean.
-
It's just like watching Brazil.
Alan Brazil.
Sloppy, over confident. Bollocks.
-
Utter fucking wank.
The defence were at fault for the two Spurs goals, the Sheff Utd goal and the Newcastle goal. so hardly been superb all the time. Agree about lack of goals putting pressure on them though.
-
Brilliant two shocking mistakes concede a goal and if that wasn’t bad enough we bring Trez on. Shocking attempt at switching play by Sanson
-
Hopefully this will wake us up.
Not a chance.
The way this has fizzled out is unprofessional. They should all be ashamed.
-
Traore is just diving all the time now
-
AEG off....trez on......so fucking predictable.
It's beyond satire.
-
I honestly believe Jack keeps Smith in a job.
-
Trez on....I give up.
We will never finish higher than 8th in the premier league under Dean Smith I'm afraid so comes down to how ambitious do we want to be as a club over next 5 years.
-
such a load of feckin crap this is.
Dean's been piss poor over the last 5 matches - I don't care who's available, this is shite.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.
I’m sorry but I’m not buying that at all. The defence who have magnificent all season is being asked to make no mistakes and keep clean sheets every game because we cannot score a goal. It’s inevitable that they will slip up in games. We’ve seen it with Emi, now Tyrone. Both players who have brilliant the past few months.
-
Fcuking change it!
He will in 20 or so
Trez for El Ghazi. Then 5 minutes later, Davis for Traore.
can we play Dean Smith Bingo
-
Davis will only come on after Fulham score their inevitable second
-
Benitez, please.
-
When will it be acceptable to call for the manager’s head? *asking for a friend
-
Traore is just diving all the time now
Traore is just diving all the time now
Get him off. And Sanson, he is shite
-
Come on Davis, rough them up.
-
That's why Mings will never be a regular England International.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.
I’m sorry but I’m not buying that at all. The defence who have magnificent all season is being asked to make no mistakes and keep clean sheets every game because we cannot score a goal. I'm only talking about today.
-
Traore is just diving all the time now
He's crap isn't he.
-
To be fair, you can get away with giving away the odd goal, provided you can actually fucking score one occasionally.
Although you need to have a shot to do that.
-
Utter fucking wank. I don’t blame the defence at all. Asking them to not concede to give us a chance at a point is really unfair. They have been superb. But this is beyond shit now. The defence were at fault for the two Spurs goals, the Sheff Utd goal and the Newcastle goal. so hardly been superb all the time. Agree about lack of goals putting pressure on them though.
Exactly. That was entirely on Mings. Played Mitrovic needlessly into acres of space.
-
Maybe we should resign Ciaran Clark, seeing as he’s the only player capable of scoring for us.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone.
It was pathetic, it's not like we've cracked under constant assault. Just gifted them the game, effectively.
I love him but he's prone to it.
-
Do you think we’ll have a shot?
-
Traore is just diving all the time now
He's crap isn't he.
Absolutely useless, can't stand him
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.

That’s not a slip up though TV, it’s a total fuckup under no pressure whatsoever
-
When will it be acceptable to call for the manager’s head? *asking for a friend
Big decisions need to be made. What do we want to be?
-
prefer to see Louie Barry come on now instead of this crap ... anything to get me excited . .
-
Come on boys, show some bottle now.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.
I’m sorry but I’m not buying that at all. The defence who have magnificent all season is being asked to make no mistakes and keep clean sheets every game because we cannot score a goal. I'm only talking about today.
My point is about today. Players make mistakes. You cannot expect them to keep playing perfectly to give us a chance to get a pathetic point let alone win games at this level when we cannot score a goal.
-
Wow, Davis on for le petit Sanson.
-
Never saw that coming, they score from a fuck up and we bring on emmmmm
-
When will it be acceptable to call for the manager’s head? *asking for a friend
When we finish 14th or 15th so barely any higher than last year and indeed below the 12th I predicted in September.
Given our next two fixtures are Liverpool and Man. City we're going to come under pressure form likes of Wolves again soon.
-
Mings is the David James of centre halves
-
I can’t remember another team gifting us a goal like that.
There must be one happened somewhere but honestly I don’t recall another team ever giving us such a piss poor goal.
-
Traore is just diving all the time now
He's crap isn't he.
Absolutely useless, can't stand him
I don't want him to get the ball he's so bad.
-
Benitez, please.
Stick him in for El Ghazi.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.

I get it Andy. Tyrone Mings makes the odd error. He’s been great the last while but he can make those errors. But the fact that we need him to be perfect is unfair. Our inability to even get a fucking shot on target anymore outs incredible pressure on the defence to be perfect.
-
How much pressure must there be on our backline when our attack is about as much use as a spare dick at an orgy?
-
Benitez, please.
Oh be quiet.
-
Our form in the last 7-8 games is shocking. Really stuttering. I’m glad we have some points on the board because this is becoming really frustrating
-
My concern is increasingly that teams who plummet at the back end of a season almost invariably continue with that "form" the following campaign. Sheffield United are the latest example.
-
Utter fucking wank. I don’t blame the defence at all. Asking them to not concede to give us a chance at a point is really unfair. They have been superb. But this is beyond shit now. Bad defensive errors will always happen to every side over a season, our defence is still what 4th or 5th best in the league?
It's looking like it will be 3 goals in 7 games since Jack got injured so I'd say that's far more alarming.
-
Pathetic from Tyrone. Pathetic from them all really.

Sorry you can't defend Mings on that or blame the rest of the team, that's 100% his fault, under zero pressure, plenty of time just lack of concentration. And it's not the first time either.
-
This is like the England game obviously Mings is at fault but we should be 3 or 4 goals up against Opposition like this. If we make a mistake at the back or a give away a penalty it doesnt cost us so much.
-
I get it Andy. Tyrone Mings makes the odd error. He’s been great the last while but he can make those errors. But the fact that we need him to be perfect is unfair. Our inability to even get a fucking shot on target anymore outs incredible pressure on the defence to be perfect.
I understand the point you're making, but that was truly pathetic from Mings. There are mistakes, then there's literally giving the opposition a goal on a plate which that was.
-
luiz thinks he's on copacabana beach
-
How much pressure must there be on our backline when our attack is about as much use as a spare dick at an orgy?
It would be a fair point except that Fulham have done little in this game. You'd need to travel a long way down the divisions to see a goal as bad as that.
-
From the form team in Europe for weeks on end to this absolute dross.
-
Can we restart the game? We clearly weren't ready.
-
Utter fucking wank.
Bad defensive errors will always happen to every side over a season, our defence is still what 4th or 5th best in the league?
It's looking like it will be 3 goals in 7 games since Jack got injured so I'd say that's far more alarming.
couldn't agree more
-
How come Trez hasn’t come on yet?
-
What is our formation now?
-
1st shot on target after 75 minutes
-
Wow a shot.
-
*Shot on target klaxon 74 mins
-
If nothing else, this is hopefully convincing the owners that considerable further investment is needed in the summer.
Although they seem like sensible chaps, no doubt they worked that out a while ago.
-
Can we restart the game? We clearly weren't ready.
Please God no I couldn't sit through this again.
-
Ramsey and not Barkley says a lot about the latter
-
This thread is as toxic as our attacking play.
-
We’re playing like relegation fodder on this display, replace the whole midfield, Sanson first!
-
Can't call this a villa midfield.
-
Ramsey and not Barkley says a lot about the latter
a willingness to run off the ball and press.
-
This is very very poor. All over the pitch, very poor.
-
Ramsey last sub, Barkley unused.
-
That header is trezeguet in a fucking nutshell.
-
If nothing else, this is hopefully convincing the owners that considerable further investment is needed in the summer.
Although they seem like sensible chaps, no doubt they worked that out a while ago.
Investment is only part of it though. Making the most of what you have is equally as important.
-
Trez shows his heading ability matches the rest of his game.
-
Trez - earning millions being a footballer . .. how?
-
Get the fuck in!
-
Fuck me that shut me up
-
luiz thinks he's on copacabana beach
I wish I was.

Goal

We need a big hitter for a manager.
-
Trez - earning millions being a footballer . .. how?
Timing
-
The trez pep talk works again
-
Crap at home to Spurs, crap at home to Fulham. Away to Liverpool and Citeh could be interesting.
Ooh, Trez!!!
-
This thread is as toxic as our attacking play.
What do you expect people to say? This is as bad a performance as it's possible to imagine.
-
Thank fuck
-
thank fuck for that - paper over the cracks boys!
-
Goal.
-
and Trez scores lol :)
-
Ramsey and not Barkley says a lot about the latter
Yes, and begs the question as to why Barkley is even on the bench.
Ooh, Trez, nice finish. Where did that come from?
-
Come on, let's see some bottle and go on to get the winner.
-
Always said Trez is the best thing since sliced bread.😂
-
We are so desperate to get in a quality wide player this summer it's untrue, Fulham have better in their team in those positions than what we do imo.
That Trez "header" says it all.
-
One of the big problems we have is that 2-3 starters aren't of the desired standard and our bench doesn't have anything that presents a different problem or threat to the opposition.
So we can never really change the way the game's going.
We need to work in the summer increasing the squad strength and depth
-
Find a way to fucking win Villa
-
Like the Black Sabbath in the background when we scored! Come on Villa!
-
Fulham's arses will be twitching now. We know how it feels when you concede like that after taking the lead in a must win game.
We'll get the second I think.
-
Haha I was just typing a disobliging post about Trez.
Might start composing another one.
-
They've been sitting back, great cut back by Mings and a lovely finish.
Push on boys, fucking do these ******.
-
Ha fair play Trez.
Mings assist.
-
Tactical Genius
All hail the Sphinx
-
scorchioooooooooooooooooooooo
-
Oh my fuck
-
GET THE FUCK IN!!!
-
2.1
-
Mings is the David James of centre halves
Spot on. Could be great but you just knew he was gonna screw up and he always did. Two of the most frustrating players we’ve ever had.
-
and Trez turns into Ronaldo
-
Never in doubt
-
YESSSSSSSSSSS
-
Trez x 2 fuck me
-
mings reminded me of tony daley with that bit of wing wizardry
-
Lovely goal and Like Stones, Mings makes up slightly for his error.
-
How many fouls does Lamina needs to give away before the ref gives a shit?
-
Davis and Trez......fucking hell
-
Oh well at least we can watch Trez put in a shift and produce fuck all for half an hour.
Top quality reverse psychology !
-
Trezzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!!
-
I'm not saying another thing.
-
That's a pisser for Fulham.
-
That’s all about Davis that goal
-
Brilliant Davis, well done Trez
-
Haha I was just typing a disobliging post about Trez.
Might start composing another one.
Hah it fucking worked!!!
-
Get in
-
Trez with a shush to H&V there.
-
Get in!
Paranoid (the Sabbath song!)
This game had been a Hard Road until we scored.
-
Trez will be given the keys to the Bigg market by the Jawdees
-
Ha ha, Trez on a hat trick! Go on son!
-
This is why I was saying play Davis from the start. I’m glad he’s made a late impact but he’s clearly allowing us to play a different way. He made that goal
-
So as we were all saying before we were rudely interrupted, European football next season ;)
-
Well bugger me with a fish fork!!
Excellent from Davis
-
Superb from Davis, great work pressing defenders and a superb cross.
-
What a game! Hahahaha!
-
Haha. Well done Trez!
-
Hahaha wow! One for Juan Martinez there!
-
Good build up play by big Keinan.
-
Tactical fucking genius by Smith with his plan B change of formation and bringing on Trez. Let's make sure we don't drop the points from here.
-
Smith is a genius, Trez is world class....
-
Must be a lot of Davis haters going quiet now?
-
Yes Davis was great for the second.
-
Haha who saw this coming?! Trez always comes good end of the season somehow!
Huge credit to Kienan Davis there btw.
-
Davis channelling his inner Rivaldo. Get in.
-
Trez eh? What a carthorse!*
*Disclaimer: I can't guarantee this one will work.
-
Wow. Did not see that coming. Great from Trez, brilliant from Keinan for the second goal.
It's a funny old game...
-

8)
Smith 8)💜
-
Now were we not all calling out for Dean to do the El Ghazi <-> Trez swap on 65mins, because it always brings dividends?
-
This is why I was saying play Davis from the start. I’m glad he’s made a late impact but he’s clearly allowing us to play a different way. He made that goal
Yep me too - just to try something different.
-
Must be a lot of Davis haters going quiet now?
What’s that about? He’s a very limited footballer who has never scored a PL goal. He offers something different though when he plays. Most people know that. But that we also know he’s limited doesn’t make anyone a hater.
-
A Smith sub actually worked out
-
I desperately want this to be a turning point
-
Trezeguet thread should be full of humble pie tonight, won’t hold breathe.
-
Are we going to hear any apologies to Trez on here? Are we going to hear any apologies to Delano on here? Papering over the cracks is it. Some people on here should dry up.
-
Credit when it’s due. Trez has taken his 2 goals like a true striker but, for the 2nd goal, it was all down to Davis fighting for the ball and getting a decent ball in. He’s never going to score many but, give him a try in a 4-4-2 from the start of a match. We’ve looked a different team since he came on.
-
Dont feck it up now for fecks sake.
-
A Smith sub actually worked out
Very gracious of you after your earlier uncalled for insult.
-

He's the 21st century Ivanhoe.
-
Ollllllllllllllie
-
Get the fuck in, excellent work from Traore!
-
3-1
-
3-1 easy easy easy!
-
Trezeguet thread should be full of humble pie tonight, won’t hold breathe.
Goodness me what a dark kettle. How about yourself and Keinan Davis?
-
A Smith sub actually worked out

The worst insult ever.
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS OLLLLIIIIIIEEEEEE
-
GET IN OLLIE
-
Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, Oy, Oy Oy !!!
-
Ollllllieeeeeee!!!!!!!
-
I will be the first to put my hand up and say that I have questioned Trez this season - plenty of workrate but the finishing product has often left a lot to be desired.
But I am delighted for him on those 2 goals. 2 very very competent and composed finishes from him. Deserved.
and SCOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEEE!!!!!
-
It’s a goal fest!!
-
Fuckin yes!!!!!
-
What a fucking play by Bert. Just superb
-
You can all thank me, I left the room at 1 nil to change the boys nappy for a bit of respite from the game, returned at 2-1
-
The difference is Ramsey
-
Trezeguet thread should be full of humble pie tonight, won’t hold breathe.
His cameo today has been undeniably brilliant. But does it make up for 9 months of nothing? Do the goals AEG and Traore got earlier make up for the last 8-10 games of them being cack?
-
Gotta say it.. Trez and Bert over the last 15 minutes have great going forward.
-
Get in Ollie. What an excellent and scintillating display of attacking football this has been! :)
-
It’s a goal fest!!
Never in doubt..... runs off quickly ;)
-
We score when we want....
-
I can’t believe what’s happened today. I really can’t.
-
The post earlier on the thread saying he hates Traore, sorry but 😂
-
My stream went at 60 minutes. Terrible game. Have I missed owt?
-
Traoré actually has a right foot!
-
Must be a lot of Davis haters going quiet now?
What’s that about? He’s a very limited footballer who has never scored a PL goal. He offers something different though when he plays. Most people know that. But that we also know he’s limited doesn’t make anyone a hater.
I don't agree at all with that assertion that he's a 'very limited footballer'.
-
Yay. Forgot what this winning feeling felt like. Nice assist from Traore for Ollie.
Hopefully this last 15 minutes pushes us on for the final 9 games and we get a rousing finish.
-
The difference is Ramsey
This

Gets a lot of stick, but always seems to pop up when you need something.
Credit where credit's due, but I hope this doesn't paper over the tracks though. This performance for the large part has been as bad as anything that was served up under Bruce.
-
Blimey. I only went outside for about 10 minutes after they scored.
-
Insightful commentary from Alan Smith there ‘It’s been a strange old match’ hahahaha
-
The change in formation really worked. The 4-3-3 hasn't been working.
-
Davis has made a big difference just by roughing their defenders up a bit, it's created space everywhere.
-
This last 15 minutes - it feels like there has been a turning point and the confidence has returned. We are looking good for 3 despite not troubling them until 75 minutes or so?
We can score goals without Jack. And it feels like the shackles have come off a bit in the last 15. Great to watch.
-
That’s better
-
Trezeguet thread should be full of humble pie tonight, won’t hold breathe.

Yep. Just as it would be unfair to judge a player on one bad performance, the same goes for one good one.
-
Blimey. I only went outside for about 10 minutes after they scored.
Piss off again then ;)
-

Agree entirely, but Trez always struck me as being a confidence player - if you look at the last few games of last season, he was the same. I hope that this performance gives him the confidence he has been somewhat lacking in recently.
-
Davis has made a big difference just by roughing their defenders up a bit, it's created space everywhere.
Yes! That’s what he does
-
Amazing what a bit of confidence can do to a teams sometimes? We're now knocking the ball around like we did September-December.
-
Villa score to equalise and and it's papering over the cracks? Call yourself a supporter?
-
I wish Traore would stay on his feet
-
Ramsey sparked this launching some cockney twat over. Since then, all aggression, running and effort.
-
Davis has made a big difference just by roughing their defenders up a bit, it's created space everywhere.
Yes! That’s what he does
Decent footwork and vision, too. Working hard, clearly wants to make an impact.
-
who needs Jack
-
If only the stubborn twat hadn’t persisted with 451 since Jack had been out injured eh? So frustrating when we’ve been crying out for it for weeks!
Saved his bacon for another summer now
-
Villa score to equalise and and it's papering over the cracks? Call yourself a supporter?
It took over 75 minutes to register a shot on goal!
-
and it’s a wrap. Those last 15 minutes were as good as I have seen all season.
-

Makes my previous comments a bit null!
-

I'd say 13 wins on the board with nine games to go might have more to do with it.
-

I say, credit , where its due and I'm delighted that we've won yes, but you can't be satisfied with what we saw before we equalised.
-
That last few minutes was as good as anything this season.
-

Nice

So what? They scored 3!
-
Great final fifteen minutes, Trez, Ramsey and Davis certainly inspired that one. Nice one Smith, shows he’s not scared to leave Barkley on the bench.
-

Thats just heat of the moment stuff hopefully.

They also had shots on 78, 81, and 87. All goals.
