I wasn't that confident even with Jack likely to play.  Glad Trez isn't in but would have like him to try Davies up front alongside Ollie just for something different.

From Ashley Preece

#avfc trained yesterday and Jack felt some discomfort; was due to start against Fulham but Saturday's setback has forced Smith's hand not to risk it. A real shame; skipper must have been devastated; he's itching to get back. Focus now on in-form McGinn & Villa's internationals.

Fulham have gone eight away games without defeat.

Fulham's only away win at Villa Park in seventeen attempts came in their last game at Villa park seventeen years ago.

Time for positivity.
Win and we go 9th. 5 points off a European spot with a game in hand.

Saturday's setback referring to Wes?

Assume it means the set back was to Jack during training

OK, no Jack. There you go. Hope we can just put in a performance that gets us off our feet. It's been a while.

Hope that Ollie isn't forced to chase long balls down the channels all game. Hope El Ghazi and Traore can provide the creativity that we've been missing for weeks. Hope the link up play with Ollie can show some imagination and footballing intelligence.

Here's hoping.....

So they haven't won at VP in 17 years 🙃

So you know these rumours that keep doing the rounds?  Does anyone know who was pulling off Jack in training?

I read Dean’s comments very carefully. That’s why I posted on Friday that I didn’t think Jack would probably be in the squad after DS said there was a possibility of Jack featuring in the squad. Pease Dean, stop the mind games as they make FA difference and, just tell us fans honestly what the hell is going on.
Even worse with Jack being out, the team he has named is so piss poor. He hasn’t learned a thing from our last half a dozen or so matches.

No, Damo. That can't be true. I saw Fulham beat us 2-1 about 5 years ago. Keiron Richardson scored the winner against us and Lowton made the most unbelievable goal line clearance during the game.

I didn't think those stats added up. I got the info from the BBC website's pre match bullet points.

Jack's been out for so long we're bound to have a contingency plan for this.
