Borson on Talksport, nothing in it being a swap, cover up or cheating...non story. But doesn't see Jackson or another deal with Chelsea happening due to the regs and Villa not booking profits etc.

Not a fan of this deal, but it's interesting that for a player that's supposedly been written off, there's quite a lot of column inches about it this morning.

There's a Man U podcaster called Alice, always speaks so highly of the Villa, smart girl and she made the point that Gamacho has become a hate figure for no real reason. Yes he (through his brother) released the team sheets ahead of a few games but really, he doesn't deserve the shit fired at him. He wanted out of Man U, well they wanted him out so is he to blame for that? He really needs to start with a clean slate and let his football and hard work do his talking. Maybe give social media or those around him posting on his behalf a rest. That's it. Simple.

Even Goldbridge today wasn't writing him off as he knows he's a cracking player. It should be an easy fix and I don't believe he's as crazy as Duran.

I quite like it when we have a (one) mentalist.

If he can bang in those overhead kicks like the one at Everton every week… I’m prepared to give the kid a chance ! 🤣

Hopefully he can move in with the two Emi's to keep him wholesome. They can share a house and Netflix will comission a The Monkees style show for the 2020s capturing their japes, disillusionment with the British west midlands and hardcore male bonding.

UEFA will make a judgment based on if they consider the clubs are gaming the system.  I'm not sure if that will require a '99% probability' test or a 'reasonableness' test.  We'll see.

Using the criteria I went through though. Its not as arbitrary as people are making it sound and there is a real conflating of journalistic interpretation and what conditions actually mean.

Let’s hope it goes through the way we want. We could do with that £40m spare.

As someone said above (I can't remember who, sorry!), it seems we have to 'consult' UEFA with each transfer given our current restrictions and agreement with them.  There is no way we agree to this loan deal and then find out after the fact that UEFA consider it a swap.  It might be that the consultation with UEFA is the reason it's taking so long to announce it after the deal was agreed between the clubs. We won't pull the trigger unless UEFA sign off that it's not a 'swap'?

He's the right age, with bags of experience and there are shades of Mr. Grealish about him. I never liked him, but he's Villa now, so I love him. It's a good acquisition.

I'm suddenly dreaming of him tearing it up against PSG, Arsenal at home and later on, sitting on the advertising hoardings at the Streford end.

Have to say the sitting on the board celebration is great... total wind up if it's against you, but will be amazing if he scores for us away from home and pulls it out, obv United would be the peak of that

Good, I don't want Jackson.

I don't mind Jackson. I think he's lost confidence badly, and needs an arm round his shoulder. The only way we sign him this summer is if another big player leaves though you would think.

Reminds me too much of Watkins, forever missing sitters.
