I remember watching a few Chelsea games last season where Garnacho did zero defensive work.

He's going to have to change his attitude to hard work if he wants game time under Emery.

I guess it was written in the stars for a while now. Good to see him doing a reverse Tait #ShitOnTheCity

Just standing there picking his arse in a Villa shirt. Yep, get used to that..

If Unai manages to polish this turd, then hats off to him. He has the ability but lacks the motivation (like Sancho)

Just hoping we are leaking info and are trying to bring another deal for someone else to completion.

What do all those stats mean? Why is a bigger number better than a smaller one?

I'm assuming they're percentiles based on actions per minute. So he was in the top 10% on most things you'd measure a winger by.

... but was too much of a knob for it to result in game time.

The talent is there but someone needs to slap a bit of reality into him so he realises he's not a generational talent who can be a twat and still get his arse kissed by everyone.

Hopefully one of the conditions of the purchase is that we win the Champions League.

My first reaction was "please,no! Never!" Then i remembered that my comment at the end of the last summer window was words to the effect of the only positive was Elliot and the others were a waste of wages, so I clearly know nothing about transfers.

If Emery wants him, I'm fine with it.

Yeah i agree.

But then again, that's what I thought about Rashford.

At the time that Alejandro was the Man Utd wonder kid, my class got a new goldfish.  The naming process went to a vote and the boy-dominated, red-supporting  cohort chose Garnacho. Such is democracy.

I'm not sure this adds much to the discussion, other than being fact rather than speculation.

Sancho's twin? Really not sure about this. Very talented player who gave Cash huge problems at Villa Park last season but like Sancho his application and focus has been in doubt for years. Bombed out of Man United and Chelsea in two successive seasons.

Don't think he's a good tactical fit for us either.

One's prone to forgetting his defensive duties every eight seconds, while going round in endless circles...you can do the rest.

I back Emery to get the best out of any player. I'm more nervous about Garnacho than I was over Sancho and Rashford though. I'd rather we didn't make this signing.

If I remember correctly, I was quite disappointed when we didn’t sign him last summer when we were heavily linked with him.

Then we brought in Sancho.

Me too.  O’Leary was right, or at least I am fickle.

I was delighted to get Rashford on loan but wouldn’t sign him now.
Annoyed we missed out on Garnacho last summer but wouldn’t touch him now.

The fact he’s been jettisoned by two clubs suggests he’s a bit of a knob.  Furthermore the sample of good games/moments is being diluted by two seasons of being on the naughty step.

Certainly feels like a tough assignment for Emery to get him back on strack, but in Emery we trust.
