I had to look up this Clamato.

Quote
Water, Tomato Concentrate 10%, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Flavour Enhancer: Monosodium Glutamate, Salt, Acid: Citric Acid, Spices, Onion, Garlic Powder, Ascorbic Acid, Dried Clam (Molluscs) Broth, Vinegar, Natural Flavours, Colour: Allura Red*, Red Chilli Pepper, *May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children

How can "Broth" be a flavour enhancer. What flavour is Broth anyway? Surely it is just the water something is cooked in, probably the rest of the ingredients.

South Korean manager has listened to the fans.

Quote
On Monday, the national team's official fan club Red Devils issued a statement calling on Hong to "kneel before the entire nation and leave the football world forever".

I want that to be the go-to chant for any managers removal instead of "being sacked in the morning".

I assume that Dried Clam Broth would be clam flavour.

Of course, I didn't realise there wasn't a comma because the brackets threw me. It also didn't help that when I first searched, the search engine through up the Sainsbury's link but had shortened the initial ingredients so just had the flavourings section with "broth, vinegar, natural flavours"

A friend of mine (Brit emigrated to Canada) told me that Clamato is excellent and makes the best Bloody Mary. Needless to say, I was highly sceptical, as who the fuck puts clam juice in a drink?

Perverts.

Mexican wave wankers.

The wave is an abomination. Instigators should be banned for life and participants banned for a year.

However, it's unfair on Mexico to use the term 'Mexican', the Colonials were waving long before 1986

I don't think I can watch the Germany game anyway, past my bedtime, and I am nothing if not well-behaved.  ::)

They might have been but I don't think it was really known worldwide until some people did it in the Mexican World cup. And as the Colonists were not present, it was probably started by local attendee's so the name does fit the bill.

It was the first time the “ phenomenon “ was broadcast to a wider audience, but the Yanks had been doing it for years, mainly because American sports are so boring.

Yes, but the point is it IS called the Mexican Wave because for most of the rest of the world, it originated in Mexico. The same reason Spanish Flu is called that, even though the flu epidemic was happening elsewhere but wasn't mentioned publically until Spain mentioned it.

It might be unfair to the Mexicans as per UKR post, but if the locals didn't do it during the world cup, it wasn't getting done by the few Italians or Bulgarians who would have travelled, and I doubt the stadiums were full of US people, not that the World would know either way.

Do the Spanish call it the Spanish Flu? Do the Mexicans call it the Mexican Wave? Or is it like the Vietnam/American War?

Yeah thanks for that, it’s exactly what I said.
