Seen a suggestion its worth 35m with full match day rights beyond sponsorship? Not entirely sure what that entails.

Personally I couldn’t care less if we were running around the pitch with sports quarter.com on our shirts.  It’s another £20m in the door we badly need.  Morals and football have never been close bedfellows.  Least of all nowadays.

There's nothing modern about sports washing and football.

Just emailed the club at fancomplaints@avfc.co.uk

Sir/Madam

As one who has supported my beloved Aston Villa for 56 years, I feel morally compelled to express my utter disgust at the latest choice of shirt sponsor. The gambling "industry" was bad enough, but for the club to lower itself with Visit Rwanda is nothing short of disgraceful. This step has tarnished the image of our club, and the happy events in Istanbul, just a few short weeks ago.

If you are really intent on fucking up the clubs image, chose that horrible version of a shirt and then find the ugliest sponsor possible.
Next season go for Blue with a big downward white stripe with vote Green Party across the chest.

Poor choice by the club & I suspect they've hung on as long as possible to see if other sponsors matched the price. But with the number of clubs looking for new sponsors I guess the options were limited.

Having said that, I think the majority people won't give a shite who's sponsoring the shirt.

Yep, all that sounds about right to me.

You may be right, but it feels very dirty and I'm slightly embarrassed (understatement).

If you feel that strongly about the sponsor - don’t buy the shirt, return season tickets and don’t go to the games -

Personally if this is the best deal that the club can make and judging by the photo this was not signed recently, then we have to accept it - what would fans rather have no FOS and then struggle even more to comply with the various rules - SCr etc..

I can't help thinking that the whole self-imposed ban of betting for Front-of-Shirt sponsorships was pretty pointless in the end.

Not only have Betano sponsored Tottenham's training kit, but they and others will I expect have the pitch-side exposure, Paddy Power will still be plugged to death on TalkShite and every Sky game will be bookended by gambling ads.

As for our own FoS, I doubt I'll ever visit Rwanda, and I sort of wish I'd bought the new shirt before this deal was announced, but it's vital revenue I suppose. Oh, and I'm surprised that some are proclaiming on social media that it's a record-breaking deal for the club when the annual value is the same as the previous sponsor.

I'm afraid the world is a shitty place folks, it always has been and it always will be, nothing will ever change. Villa aren't to first club to take tainted money and they won't be the last, so if your morals can't handle it, vote with your feet.

Always find it odd when people decide to have a dig at fans with stuff like this.

In what way is that a dig at fans?
