The new North Stand - Whats its name then?
« on: May 22, 2026, 02:38:44 AM »
I've always thought the name of a stand is an opportunity to honour the greats of that club.

The Holte End is truly iconic and can never be changed but with the new North Stand we'll have this maybe once in a lifetime opprtunity.

So what would you go with?

The Aitairos/el Ghouni Stand, sponsored to the tune of several millions of pounds.

Emery would curl up at the idea of naming a stand after him, particularly whilst he is still here.  It's going to be The North Stand for as long as it does.

It's an extended version of the current stand, and so should keep it's name.  Though expect it to be some kind of sponsored thing for PSR purposes

Perhaps in acknowledgment of our illustrious neighbour’s unheralded golden future, we should call it the chimney end?

Always surprised me that Herbert didn't turn down The Witton lane's new moniker being the shrinking violet he was.

It is so long overdue.

I quite agree, however, we should ask BCC to change the name of witton Lane to Emery Way die to its demanding nature on match days.

The Saunders-Barton North Stand

(Emery can wait until the Witton Lane gets renamed.)
