I think Uni will have a plan even if it consists of our reserves playing.

Hope it's a better one than at Palace 2 years ago.

BBC out the traps early with the Football Focus Pep wankfest, no mention of Villa at all, after winning a European trophy, what a surprise?

Regardless of what you think of him, Guardiola leaving is massive news. And far bigger news worldwide than our trophy win.

Not a word on the discovery of penicillin either, which by any metric is more significant in human development than dressing like a toddler and leaving a job.

My main takes are that Jonathan Pearce still seems to be drinking too much (sadly), and that Kenny Dalglish may be appearing on the Deathwatch thread sooner rather than later.

If you listen to how effusive Emery was in his praise of Guardiola this week, today will be all about him. As it should. He’s credited by almost every top manager for being amongst the most influential managers of all time. He’s certainly had advantages not afforded to others in who he has led, but his style and coaching methods has revolutionized the game. Like him or not, today is and should be about him. We will probably give him a guard of honour when he comes out.

All this is true.

However, he is also a cunt.

I won’t go that far. I’ll reserve that word to far worse individuals. And there are lots of candidates who wear that description almost with pride. I don’t mind him overall and especially some of his views outside of the game. I do despise the club, and his association with all they did to circumvent the financial rules. So admittedly in that context it gets a bit murky.

He's a fantastic manager it's ridiculous to claim otherwise. However he made football almost so perfect that it was actually boring to a lot of neutrals.

I agree with TV and PWS.
