I suspect Mr Emery would like to see at least the point that guarantees 4th and finishing ahead of last season's champions.
Agreed

Be nice to finish 4th if we can. Hopefully Brentford roll Liverpool.

I think Brentford turning over Liverpool is far more likely than a shattered and hungover villa/our reserves, winning up there on spit the dogs last game.
Would be a shame to get beat heavily, but honestly would take more than that to take me down off my cloud. Think I’ll have more eyes on the spurs game.

This. I don't want to see any of our players hoping to play in the world cup get injured in a meaningless friendly.

Honestly couldn't give a toss -  it'll be a repeat of Selhurst '24.  Protect those who are off the World Cup as they all deserve it after the season they've had and I'd hate for any of them to pick up an injury in such a meaningless game.

A hiding for Guardiola's last game likely imminent.

Happy as ever.

That's my take too.  We've already shown the level of performance we can expect when the players aren't 100% focussed - and unlike Spurs, they have my complete and total blessing.

Yes, I know 4th is better than 5th.  Yes, I know there is kudos associated with beating City and finishing above Liverpool, but right now, that all feels a little inconsequential.

Unai will want to win, guaranteed, but I also think he knows his players well enough to know those with an eye on the World Cup, and with a post-final hangover, might be better off on the bench, or in the stands.

I would like to see Elliott get a full game, if he's fit enough.  I'm sure he'd get a good send-off from the fans.
