12 of us with more money than sense could have a 'sky box' for €1290 each.

We’re looking at this. It says minimum 12, we’ve got 4 of us (possibly a 5th) up for it. If anyone would be looking to split then let me know

What did you do for the Fenerbache match? (Just so you don't get people recommending what you might have already done).

Monty, who probably told you the restuarant, posted this earlier,

Jealous of all of you who are going. Have a nose around Arnavutköy in the Beşiktaş district, it's like a seaside village in the middle of the metropole.

Couldn’t get to that one because of work!

If it was Monty thanks so much. It was so helpful I shared it with a German I spoke to in the first restaurant. He was actually a Freiburg supporter! I guess the full Constantinople thing would be amazing!

There's the pudding shop in Sultanahmet for a bite to eat. Famous for featuring in Midnight Express. A favourite with travellers since the 1970s.

Loads of cool stuff to do, it’s a brilliant city. If you’ve never been and just have one day suggest Hagia Sophia, grand bazaar, ferry to Asia and back, and the underground cisterns (as featured in From Russia with Love!) maybe Topkapi Palace too if you can fit it in. All roughly in the same area and walkable.

That's all well and good, but where's the Irish pub?

Thanks for the travel advisory. Where's the link for the Irish Pub boycott petition?

Although the Guinness looks pretty good for Istanbul.
