Out of interest, who's on penalty duty tonight? Not that I don't trust any of them, why would I but I'd probably give it to Martinez.
Tonight? Maybe Mbappe or Kane or Doue?

Jacob Tanswell

John McGinn trained this morning. No Amadou Onana out there. #AVFC

Well we might be going to penalties so hopefully all of them have been training and only allowed to go and eat when they have scored 5 on the trot each.

Surprised it hasn't got round to McGinn's turn yet.

Don't necessarily think he'd be any better than the others, but he's the sort of personality that you'd think would see it as something we struggle with and make it his responsibility.

It's not like he can't hit a ball.

Hopefully against Bizot. Don't want Emi to injure himself facing 265 penalties.

He can shape the ball into the corner better than anyone, surprised he hasn't taken them more tbh..

Didn’t McGinn miss in the Brentford shoot out defeat?

I remember McGinn scoring one for Scotland a couple of years ago but it wasn't a good one and it squirmed through the keeper

Seems about right. With Onana you could see the muscle go when he stretched for that header - and that's not the sort of injury that he shakes off in a week.

No which is a real blow - hope Unai has clocked Bogarde is not the answer.

I doubt it, he's stubborn and also really likes Bogarde.

I liked Bogarde in that period earlier this season when he played a bit but he’s been absolutely abject recently

Still feel he's been targeted by herd mentality the past few times he's played, especially Sunday. Tammy and Barkley where about as press resistant as a stale blueberry, Tielemans with his worst game in the shirt for some time and absolutely zero assistance on the right for Cash from Sancho. Poor lad had to cover about 20 yards of space at all times. At least he looked like he gave a shit.

Not saying he's good enough, but Emerys moved him about like a chess piece all season and he's rarely played in a side chock full of our best.

Unai Emery expects John McGinn to be fit for the second leg against Nottingham Forest tomorrow. Says Forest are favourites, with Amadou Onana, as Emery responded, "obviously not" available to play.

Out for the rest of the season then, judging by that.

Hopefully won't matter too much for the league if we beat Burnley.
