As I said before, they'll sell Tielemans to Saudi Arabia within the next two summer windows and probably get their money back assuming his legs haven't completely gone.

Tielemans will give them 2-3 years of very good performances, 1 year of so so and 1 year of poor/less good. I know he’s got a lot of miles in the tank but he doesn’t rely on pace and he’s only 29. People make out like he’s 34 already.

I'd have expected Gomes - a recent Brazil international and only 25 - to go for £50-60 mill easily.

Ultimately they are not concerned about selling him on.. He will improve them and keep a rival down the pecking order (potentially)

90k wasn't it.  Though he was on summat like £120k at Citeh. Which is why we had to extend the length of the deal.

Didn't think it was a terrible deal at the time in isolation. Keepers can easily go into their late 30s. The one we had just let go to Tottingham did, after all.

He was prob our best player in his first season as well.


But for a club telling the world and his wife that we were going the young and hungry (and cheap) route from 2012 route onwards, and with Guzan breaking through, it soon looked an anomaly. And an easy place for Lamberk to start his Year Zero approach.

A combination of Palhinha and us kept Tottenham up, he shored up their midfield and scored some important goals. He’ll do a great job for us on loan, providing depth.. I’m fully on board with this signing
