I think it's 7. The upside is we moved Guessand on, got in Doug, Tammy and two promising young kids all while being fucked over by major injuries and highly restrictive PSR rules that forced our hand with Malen and scuppered the Gallagher deal at the start of the window. It's a shame we also didn't sort out Elliott. But in the grand scheme of what we could actually achieve I don't think we did that badly. With a bit of luck nobody else gets injured, we get Youri and SJM back and we finisht the season really well.

Guessand was a 0/10, might have been the worst player to play for us since we came back to the PL (Drinky aside). Any scout that identified him really shouldn't be working at the club any longer.

Wasn't it reported that Guessand was an Emery pick?

The only one I ever saw talking up Guessand was Paul_e! Despite all evidence to the contrary too.

Emery gets credit for the signings that worked and Monchi the blame for ones that didn't. Same with Deano and that Suso dude. Truth likely somewhere in the middle.

If you mean before he signed then I'm not sure how 12 goals and 8 assists isn't evidence that someone is worth a look. He hasn't settled, it happens but don't rewrite history to pretend anyone who thought he might be a decent signing was wrong.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp878md787xo

Ex-Villa striker Duran set for sixth club aged 22.Former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran is set to join the sixth club of his career at the age of just 22.

The Colombia international has cancelled his loan move at Turkish giants Fenerbahce and is close to signing on loan at Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.

It completes a rollercoaster period of just over 12 months for Duran who left Villa in January 2025, making a £71m move to Al-Nassr that resulted in him playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

But after just six months and eight goals in 13 appearances as Al-Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League, he was on the move to Fenerbahce on loan in the summer.

He only played 10 league games for Fenerbahce, but he did help them win the Turkish Super Cup last month in a final against rivals Galatasaray.

That's the thing, he seems to deliver wherever he goes so good luck to the mentalist.

He played 13 games in 6 months at Al Nassr? Did he have a serious injury or a series of niggles/can't be arsed-s?

I think he was injured for a time in Saudi. According to Transfermarket.co.uk he scored 12 in 18 for Al Nassr and 5 in 21 for Fenerbahce.
