First half was as good as ive seen us under Emery, some of the one touch passing was superb.

Agreed. I sat there thinking if we can play like this in Europe we'll destroy anybody put in front of us. An absolute joy to watch.

That has to be the benchmark we aim for and anybody we bring in has to have the technical ability to play that way as well as put a shift in obviously.

Great first half, sloppy for most of the second.  Ref lost control of the game and they resorted to a some nasty challenges.  How Palhinha stayed on the pitch is a mystery as he should have been booked in the first few minutes for that foul on Kamara.

We've got a brilliant mentality now.
For some many years Ive seen Villa teams crumble under pressure and even though Spurs had their expected spell in the game, the mental strength we showed after conceding was the sign of a quality squad and of course, its all down to a world class manager.
Players have to do the job, but it's all about Unai Emery.

Bogarde made a couple of mistakes today but I think he is going to be a top, top player for us. Strength, poise, brains in abundance. Under the tutorship of Unai, Youri, Bouba, Onana and SJM his future looks great.

Villas flair in the first half and grit in the second half made us worthy winners.

Torres looked like he’d never been away, calm and class. Bogarde had a really good first half, like all if them. He lost the ball in the build up to their goal and gave the ball away a couple more times, but he did ok to be fair. With Onana apparently out for a few more weeks, and now Kamara getting injured (hopefully not serious) he’s bound to get more game time.
