Whilst it would be good to bring the average age down, I'm more motivated about us remaining competitive for Champions League places and staying within the financial constraints we unfortunately have to manage. We might need to shop in the Bosman market and use cash we can use for the forward positions.

Absolutely, but Robertson puts me in mind of Lescott when we signed him, no use giving contracts to players that just aren't up to it any more.

Robertson isn't an upgrade on Digne and would be on more wages. No ta.

No indeed. We need to start reducing the age profile a bit.

Williams at Forest covers both full back positions and only 24. Would be a good fit for us I reckon.

There are good players at spurs, forest and West Ham.

One of the millions of Gomez’s is a fine player at Wolves, but probably not a position we need.

The problem with that is thiugh its short term success and then we are left with aging squad and if unai left i would be very worried for the next person who came in.

This is the problem we had with gerrard.

We nedd to build a team for the future that is not nust competitive  for a year but for many years. We have enough 30 year olds on the squad lets aim for more long term signings

You tend to have to pay a premium for potential, and the problem is it's just that until it's realised.

We don't have the means to buy the kind of players that fit that bill at present, it's finding uncut diamonds, frees, rejuvenation of discarded players or relatively modest signings only.

He is a good player, though didn't see much of him until Luiz went off. Rab c Nesbitt could run off the back of Barkley. Mane will have plenty of interest in him too.
