Guessard also presses better and has won some key balls in the final third of the pitch that we have capitalised on, like today.

Probably not the time to be picking faults after such a good result, but he is one of a few who just gives the ball.away too easily and too often when we are going forward.  Can't knock his work-rate and the defensive side of his game though.

Im assuming Unai picks him because of the latter and probably thinks the rest will come later

Guessand would make a top defensive wing back

His work rate and defensive work are very impressive

No coincidence Cash has improved massively this year. We may be a little more conservative on that side without Bailey, but far more balanced.

We defended well, winning header after header in our own box.  Onana, Konsa were particularly good, as was Torres with the ball at his feet.  Lovely pass from Cash and brillianr from both Digne and Buendia for the winner. I honestly fancies us today as I don't think Tottenham are that good a side.  Great win, feels good.

As anyone come on to state we only won because of all their injuries?

who was they missing?   Ardiles and Ricky Villa?

We won 4-1 down there when they played.

That classic game was the one which demonstrated Cowans' emerging class: he totally outshone the 2 Argentinian world cup winners.

Similar with Telegraph but it’s Matt Law so it should be fairer on us!

Great result for the lads, man of the match every one of them, no exceptions, best man of the match Unai for me, he absolutely had them bang on, very important this game but even more so for us to win it, onward's and upwards we go.

Got that right, Guessand and his ability to tackle back is giving Cash time to defend, the right looks really solid.

Didn’t fancy us at all but a great result.  Thought we played pretty well all game but we’re still lacking a little bit of composure around the box.  2 outstanding goals.  The role of sub really suits Beundia - his energy and craft really help and the shorter bursts seem to help him.

Thought our second half performance was excellent - and our game management once we took the lead.

Well done everyone - good performances in every position

Noticed he made one particular shoulder to shoulder challenge today that he won easily and remarkably. Took that as a sign of acclimatisation to the PL.

The ability of Torres to get accurate, well weighted passes into the front 3 or 4 was again on show today.

He’d make a good midfielder. It suddenly struck me that he reminds me of Stuart Gray (gait, demeanor, left-sidedness…ummm, hair).

The perfect opponent for Unai: good enough to make him get his thinking cap on, nowhere near good enough to out-think him.
