“Coward as a man” is probably a bit of a stretch.

Yeah, I thought that was unnecessarily strong.

It’s nonsense to call him a coward as an athlete let alone as a man. All of these professional athletes have to fight through immense competition to get to the lowest levels of their sport let alone the top. One thing if you feel he’s not good enough for where we are today. Perfectly reasonable to have any opinion in that regard. Quite another to consider him a coward in any form.

Did you not see some of his challenges or lack of them in some of the games? Wolves at home and Leeds away when we were hanging on were quite memorable for all the wrong reasons. Very half hearted at best.

There's a lengthy article about him and his career on the BBC football page, but the author includes no opinion on the quality or otherwise of his performances with us last season.

That wouldn't be an issue had his output been more convincing - there were just too few goals and assists to make a compelling case in the end.

Shirked challenges aside, I enjoyed watching him play though. A very smart, technical player who, it seemed to me, was engaged and enjoyed playing for the Villa.

I didn’t enjoy watching him set up two goals for the opposition against Sunderland.

He was poor and certainly delivered on my expectations. Good luck to him and I hope he finds a club. There was a brief moment before his last injury where it looked like he might click, but sadly not.

More anti-Aston media laziness. Tsk!

I commented to my mate at the games that they could of hung his kit up at the end of the game as his shorts certainly never had a grass stain on them. There was 60 / 40 even 70/30 challenges in his favour that he never even attempted to put a foot in.

A coward as a man in game - i obviously do not know what he is like as a person on the street and dont care - only comment on his footballing time with us and it was pretty poor.

Factor in the money he has made from the game as a whole he has stolen a living - he will probably take the easy option next as well
