I didn't agree with us taking him, as I saw him as 'Bailey-lite' (not a compliment); partly also because with such limited spending power he seemed far too expensive for expected benefits.

I'd like to see more end product but assume Emery doesn't want that from him.

He reminds me of Asensio, without that end product.

The lack of bite, to put it mildly, in 50-50s is annoying, but I can see past that.

Conversely, I think he is genuinely focused and committed, and it also looks to me like he is enjoying his football with us (not just a nice to have; think of how painful it is to see Bailey suffering every game).

Why would Emery not want any end product from him? We're not scoring goals or creating much but you think the manager wants one of our attacking wider players to offer no threat at all?

I think he's shite, especially for the money he's on. He offers so little he's just getting a soft ride because of how bad firstly Guessand was and secondly Bailey's return has reminded us how bad he is.

Sancho is crap, he's just not as crap as the other two so needs must but he's definitely not playing a role where Emery wants him to offer no threat.

Yup, that's pretty much it. He's very neat, tidy, skilful, good football brain.

And will probably have a very decent next five years of his career at the top end of the Bundesliga or Serie A where he'll be given the space and time to use the attributes that he has.

When McGinn and Ramsey were performing on our flanks they weren't getting big G&A numbers either but they were contributing so much more with or without the ball. Running power, retaining possession, helping out defensively, dropping into the middle. Sancho does none of that. Plus bar a glorious first touch he doesn't offer us pace, shooting option from outside the box, decent crossing - he offers f*ck all.

Wimping out of physical contests is a big issue too. Nobody expects Sancho to steam into a tackle like McGinn would but that incident v Wolves would have given them a boost. An early sign that we don't fancy it on a wet night.

Why would you assume that Emery doesn't want more end-product from him? I'm pretty sure he's said in a recent press conference that he needs to do more.

I don’t think for a minute he’s not trying, i really do think he’s making the effort. He has a lovely touch, tidy feet and close control, sometimes plays a lovely through ball.
However, he can’t beat a defender with pace or skill, which for a winger is an issue, his crossing is sometimes suspect. When he has it on the wing I never think ‘this is the moment’. The fall off from
Rashford last year is huge.
But I’d probably play him from the start tomorrow and therein lies the problem, with Emery’s options this season.

He doesn’t create enough, keep the ball enough or track back and defend enough. 
He isn’t good enough. 
I’ve said enough enoughs. 

I’d start Alysson instead. 
Even if he doesn’t have enough experience.
