Struggling to think of a worse start to a season both on and off the pitch. And I go back to the Saunders era.

The year we signed Collymore - I knew that he was the wrong signing especially for that system. We bet the house on him and were in a relegation battle until the middle of March and then won 7/8 to get into Europe.

Maybe a 14th place and Europa League as per Spuds is our bet this season

Same. I remember ringing in to Talksport saying it was a mistake. They asked me who we should sign instead and I said Sheringham (before he went to Man Utd).

The mood was set before the game when news of Emis departure to Man Ure spread round the pubs and the ground prior to kick off. Whoever was responsible for leaking the news deserves a good slap. Considering the opposition and the hold they have over us it was the last thing we needed.

Well it's Emi that needs a good slap then. He's the one who turned up at The Donkey Pool
Playing fields in Dudley this morning and told a load of footie mums he was leaving. Can't seriously expect to put that on the Wrenna grapevine in the morning and not expect it to be public by the evening!

Although it was on BBC by noon anyway along with all the twitter merchants. (Not the bit about Amfy's mates in Dudley but Manure letting all their mates know).

Emery may walk after tomorrow.

Just a feeling but if Emery doesn't get the players in the next few hours he wants, I think he will walk and after tonight, he will feel very hurt and very embarrassed, he's a sportsman he's competitive, he's chewing bricks right now.
But Emery and his mates have been totally responsible for the transfer business and Emery responsible for the strange team selections that have put us here.

It’s going to be a long season - we might surprise but we are not challenging for champions league this season. I hope to be proved wrong

I thought Palace outsmarted us yet again.

Henderson (when needed), Guehi and Wharton were on another level to ours.

Once the goal went in the energy drained and second half we did well when Buendia came on. Thought when Wharton went off Youri and McGinn could impose themselves on the game. Didn't happen The 2nd goal was a proper calamity job - even with a great finish.

Cash/Malen is an accident waiting to happen. No idea where we go from here.

Unai earns his dough now.

A shocking performance; a slow, plodding build up that was easy to defend against and whilst 0-3: flattered Palace there was so little on offer from Villa that it was abundantly clear that something is rotten in the state of Aston.
A continuation of the performance at Old Trafford in May and that truly speaks volumes about rhe teams morale.
0-3 was harsh but Villa deserved nothing more than a draw at best.

Given the general mood around the camp over the last few weeks, and then tonights Emi news, I didn't expect anything else than a defeat. It just felt inevitable.

First half, shite. Ponderous, too many touches, a real lack of zip.

We needed a goal when we were well on top at 0-1 but didn't really look like getting it, whilst the line up looked adventurous, we offered little threat and again looked very narrow. Thought Konsa, Youri and McGinn looked good and Rogers at least tried to make things happen without much success.

I've never been a Buendia fan but he injected some spark and his application and eagerness has never been in doubt.

End of the window cant come soon enough, there is something very wrong, fuck knows why after the season we've had but clearly players have had their heads turned by the money on offer elsewhere. For the first time since UE joined, we'll have a weaker squad than the one we had the previous season, thats a real pisser.

Think this will be a transitional season, but obvious replacements for some of the players aren't evident. We need a win to lift the mood quickly.

On what basis is he making those accusations?

I'd have never picked Sheringham (as I thought he was too old at 31) but it would have been a great shout. We signed Merse at 31 after all a year after. I wanted Chris Sutton - had a great season at Blackburn under Hodgson went to Chelsea and bombed

Just watched highlights on motd. Gueyhe's brilliant goal was a direct result of a missed pass by Cash. That's 3 out of the last 4 games he's cost us a goal with sloppy passing. He really isn't good enough at this level.

Let’s face it, we have lost / losing players we didn’t want leave, not been replaced…injuries to 2 key midfielders and played a very good team who our manager cannot work out how to play them. Morale is obvs low, they looked totally flat. There was only gonna be 1 result, not sure why I went.

Its a little simplistic, agents will be constantly seeking to understand what the market is. I'm gutted about JJ going but players move on all the time, some because they want to sometime because it suits the club.

All is not well with the club, but I'm not sold on this story at all.
