That Mings quote… fuck me that’s a totally split dressing room right there.

I think Ramsey really wanted to stay and was sacrificed for those that still want out. Rogers and Ollie I reckon.

A bit surprised that ‘Rogers needs a rest’ ( Paul.S above).
Why?

I could say dropped but the word rest seems a big kinder.

We are only 3 games in, but the players looked like they'd played a full season without a rest.

If tonight is the shape of things to come, we could have done better to have cashed in on all the players with value and to have started with a largely different squad.

Other teams have recycled and renewed  but we just have no impetus at all and the contrast with last season already is alarming.

Let’s all stay calm. We’ve lost our first home game for a year in the league ffs.

No offence but that is abit if a put your head in the sand approach. The last four performances have been a complete and utter shambles.  There has been zero positives none from any of them.we look like we could have been playing for 90 days today and we wouldnt score. Its a real worry

Two of those matches, we’ve played with 10 men. One against a team we rarely beat and admittedly poor performance against Brentford. Time to wear our big boy pants and stop crying.

Rogers body language today was awful.

If that is a sign of where his head is and an indication of what we are getting this season then if someone comes in with big money, let him go.

I’d bite your hand off normally if someone bid £80 mill for Rogers but there’s no time left now. What a shit show.

Thing is, if Rogers wanted out, we could have gotten serious money for him. Emery probably thinks, and is probably right, that he has a higher ceiling and a better injury record than Ramsey, who we got decent money for all things considered but who it's clear wasn't excited about leaving. I think it's a gamble that really doesn't look like paying off.

Ah, got you!
A bit of a concern, just 3 matches into a new season.
Perhaps he misses JJ. Perhaps they all do.
I hope they use the international break to reset their collective mojo.

I don’t think Ollie is. There’s nothing in a long career that suggests that - it would have happened in Jan if that were the case. He struggled, but he was visibly frustrated by some of the service. Whatever people think of Ollie I’ve seen nothing to suggest he won’t give his all.

I know he was busy and did ok but I hope Unai was being clever by putting Buendia on, so he’s showing clubs he’s worth a punt. Not the season long answer for us though.

Haven’t read the whole thread yet, but can guess the vibe.
We have gone back 4 years.

We look lethargic, uninspiring and listless.

The complete lack of intensity, particularly in the first half was disgraceful, a continuation of the game last week.
Second half was slightly better, with Buendia the catalyst for about 25 mins before he went into his usual self.

A very special mention for Cash.
An utter embarrassment of a professional footballer.
How you can make a living continually making 5 yard backwards passes is beyond me.
I can’t recall him playing a forward pass more than twice in the first half.
And to cap it all, his giving the ball away when we were getting back into it, finished the game for us.

The malaise the club is under is worrying.
From half time booing, to the ground virtually emptying on 78 minutes, it now feels like a long time ago that we were riding the crest of a wave.

He may miss him off it but Ramsey didn’t play much of the last 2 seasons so definitely not on the pitch. He’s a professional footballer who should be used to players moving in and out.
We do need the break but we definitely need additions to help Emery.
We are only 3 games in so it’s far from a panic but if there are sulkers in the squad then get rid.

That’s my take on Watkins too

Amd whose fault was it we went down to 10? Both were blatent  reds. We cant use that as an excuse.

The big boy pants might work on children but us adults who are actually seeing  it and not have our heads in the sand are calling as we see it "not crying" as you describe it

There is losing and there is losing like we have in the last four. Theee is definitely  some big issues behind the scenes that need to be resolved assp or we could be in for a long and tough season. Then if that happens rogers and ollie wont stick around they will jump  ship like  emi is

It’s too late though. I appreciate the effort, but the window closes tomorrow.
