Keeping him would make cashing in on Onana less painful if we need to build up a war chest for any new signings.

He was a free signing so he’s ours already, bud

Yeah sorry I didn't word that very well did I. What I mean is if we decide to cash in on Onana it will be less risky due to his ability to play that role and his versatility generally

Solid display again last night. I hope he gets minutes during the final even if only as a sub.

He's that good you don't realise he's playing

I'd start him even if Onana is fit. Onana seems to need a few games to get fully up to speed and I expect him to start the bench.

If he’s fit I actually think he might. Onana on the bench is solid. But Lindelof has brought a calm balance and intelligence to the middle.

Not a bad call that.

Bring on Onana early second half if we still need to dominate the opponent, like Chelsea away in December.

I’d start Onana. He’s best a winning the ball back and is good in both boxes with his height and physicality. Would Dick Van Dyke have got those goals Friday with Onana there?

I'd be happy with 90 minutes of Onana. Looking at Freiburg, Onana could really impose himself on them.

But is he fit enough? If not, is it better to start him or keep him back for contingencies?

I don’t think Lindelof has the engine for the DM role beyond 60 minutes. Even during the first half there were times he was blowing out of his arse.

Yeah, neither he, Onana or Bogarde can be relied on for 90 minutes on Wednesday for different reasons.

Kamara - irreplacable even with three players...

Been very poor in the 2 x PL games in that position. I fear that's a gamble that works once. Think Onana will tog out and start alright but will limp off. Freiburg will surely play three in there against us.

He should be starting CB in any games Torres doesn't play. He's assured on the ball and drives us forward. Not quite the same level of quality as Pau, but still, the drop off in how we build from the back is huge when it is Mings and Konsa together.
