Was surprised when he went off, played very well.

He was fucked, in the 3-4 minutes before he went off every break in play he was bent over with his hands on his knees trying desperately to get a second wind.

He was like that after ten minutes, when we had a corner

I was concerned as the reputation for not playing well at Manure was when he was shoved in other positions then CB. But he was tremendous and a big reason we could play like we did.

It lifted me seeing his name on the team sheet in that DM role. Hopefully we can use him more in Onana's absence in the more meaningful games.

It was very telling in the post-match interviews, where SJM effectively said he was asked to play the Bouba role, which saw him drop into a back three at times, whic allowed both full-backs to provide the width which in turn allowed SJM and little Emi to tuck in and dominate the middle.  Interesting that he called it out specifically, and he certainly made it sound like it's not something Unai trusts the others defensively minded midfielders to do.

We all know we're a better side with a fit and firing Bouba, but it's interesting that getting someone to play the DM position in the WAY Bouba does, seemed to help our performance tremendously.  Even if he can't do the breaking play up and getting around the pitch as well as Bouba can.

My seat is in the half way line and it was noticeable first half that Lindelof and Tielemans regularly swapped positions. One forward and one back!

I said to my son after the match that Lindelof did the best Boubacar Kamara impression I’ve ever seen.

There is an incredible calmness that he brings to the side. Highly professional, reliable doing his fellow countryman and Villa legend Olof Mellberg proud in how he goes about his business.

Summed up perfectly, exactly what we needed last night and it worked brilliantly!

Keeping him would make cashing in on Onana less painful if we need to build up a war chest for any new signings.
