I'd take Onana off and push Tielemans deeper, bring on Guessand, Malen or Buendia (in that order of preference)

Terrible first half, we've gone to sleep, awful passing, what is this ponderous way of playing out from defence, has to change for the second half, Uni has to get into the players and wake them bloody up, coasting into a defeat, Onana off now, Mcginn of on the hour mark, Newcastle very flat at the back, resolute, but if you have the skill set and killer pass you can easily break through that, Evann on, he has that in him, give Bailey a shot we need somebody to run at them, thank goodness Isak isn't playing...Wow!

Absolutely  atrocious  performance  so far. One of the worst 1st half passing displays ive seen at home for years.

Hyperbole much?

Love how you quote only my post (and only post in match thread) as it echos most of the thread but no suprise there

No one comes out of that with much credit, Bizot aside. Lucky to be level. We’re too slow and we’re giving it away far too much.

Yep utterly bizarre given there’s been no turnover in the squad.

I didn’t see anyone else say something so extreme.

Our good half / bad half pattern usually goes: good followed by bad. When was the last time we did a bad followed by good?

Another bad omen: I'm in Mexico and the last time i was in Mexico for the opening day Newcastle spanked us and Mings did his ACL.

Terrible Bizot MOTM so far, which says it all.

He’s fighting an uphill battle if that’s his first name.

Our total lack of pace and width is allowing them to press the living crap out of us in our own half.

I'd get Malen on.

Right, so this is all your fault. FFS Joe.

We can’t pass to a claret shirt whilst they plough through our midfield like a knife through butter.

Seem very soft & lacking in confidence.

On a positive note, we have often conceded early against Newcastle me thinks, this time we have not.

Usually at their ground but a  villa park we create some opportunities. Its been a poor half up there with the manure 1st half

In fairness, we didn't have a shot and only got into their box about twice. I don't think that will have happened ever under Unai so it isn't that hyperbolic.  That is not a first half that bodes well, it all look very one-paced and stale.

Yup and it’s really obvious. It also makes it daft to try and play around at the back to draw their press.
