Yep, another vote for pinning it. And my vote tends to carry a lot of weight around here.

*chuckle*

I couldn't give a shit if its pinned or not. I hope that helps the debate.

Pin it or don’t pin it I really could not care less. I like to see the Ladies team do well. But really they have no bearing on my mood should they be not very good.

I reckon in an hour or two there will be a post on here saying something like ...'It's not a democracy round here'...

I think we should have a vote to pin or not to pin.

I believe Dave has already made his decision and it's final, it's not like it's a democracy round here.

I think we should have a vote to pin or not to pin.

But not everyone wants to have a vote, we need a way to decide whether or nor we hold one.

A ballot. Let's have a ballot.

So why pin anything, then, on that basis? It's a bad look that women are considered irrelevant compared to boys.

Not irrelevant but I imagine the men's team are what 90% of posts on this forum are made-up of. The ladies team are discussed less than politics, what's on telly, the archbishop's bowel movements, and whether Footy V is a collective or not.

But at the end of the day, we are treating this team differently solely on the basis that the players are women.

That's not only a bit silly, it's also quite sad in this day and age.

Last year, based on the default 15 posts view, the women had 36 pages and the Reserves 62. The u18's doing so well and having two finals match threads probably pushed that one high, as well as it being pinned when the ladies one wasn't. The year before when neither was pinned, it was about 32 pages to 20 in the women's favour.

So being pinned likely makes a difference.

That and success. When we had the successful season with Daly playing really well, it was 60-odd pages to 30-odd for the reserves. I think they were both pinned because the initial discussion on pinning was after that season with too much being pinned and both the Women and Reserves being unpinned for a season, with the youth returning to being pinned last season.

What utterly inconsequential thing can I feign annoyance/upset at today online?

Henry V being  bismirched by pinko-communists. No feigning of upset there. Fuck this pinning malarkey, too small beer for my performative outrage.

That's not true. If it was just based on gender I'd be more interested in the women. :-)

The women's game just isn't good enough to warrant my sustained interest.  There's less interest int eh women's game overall, attendances went down last season.

All arguments that could be laid out against the academy teams. I'm fine with both being unpinned and wasn't sure why the academy one was pinned again last season with the Ladies one being ignored.
