To compound it all I’ve just seen on MOTD which showed the celebrations them all singing along to that anthem dirge played over the Selhurst tannoy. Now that’s unfathomable.

Exactly, what a load of utter bollocks.

The advantage didn't really turn out to be an advantage, hadn't realised it was head to head not goal difference so no way they can catch Como even if they win 15-0.

Yeah, it confused me a couple of months ago when I was watching the table. Thought I was going mad at a time when I thought that Roma should have gone up a place or two on GD.

Actually watched the first half of West Ham - Leeds yesterday, and MOTD for the first time on yonks, and it struck me how shit the players of most teams are compared to ours.

I watched some of the first half, god West Ham were awful.
When our pass and move patterns come off we look wonderful.

Bowen, a player much admired on here, took a ball as McGinn would on the right with a defender behind him. There two West Ham midfielders inside him and the whole of the other side of the pitch was open, his first touch would have shamed Rudy Gestede and his (eventual) pass was 10 yards behind it's target and put Leeds in.

West Ham fans whining about us while ignoring Everton and that West Ham themselves lost 3-0 at home to Spurs is funny.

Maybe they shouldn't have driven Moyes out for going a whole year without winning a trophy and "only" finishing ninth, the daft ideas-above-their-station twats.

We saw a WHAM! fan at the services on the way back from Istanbul. He shouted at us “you could have done us a favour against Spurs” and walked off.

How about doing yourselves a favour? The taxpayer already built you a stadium and effectively subsidises every home game, and you’re still shit.

Real Zaragoza relegated to Spanish 3rd Division. My wife's home town. I used to watch them in the 70s when they were top six and hosting Real Madrid, Barcelona etc al. Even went to their cup final Vs Atletico Madrid. Sad.

Less the trophy that narrative was thrown at us post MON. Moyes left them with a mess of a squad too, standard massive striker flop x 2 including Danny Ings. Moyes has a shocker of a record with forwards. Declan Rice money blown, similar to us with Grealish perhaps (excusing Buendia's redemption this season).

They got caught in that trap of completely changing styles from Moyes<Lopetegui<Potter<Nuno and basing the transfer strategy around what the coach wanted. Ended up with Soucek still in midfield. Forest with much better players nearly got caught in that trap this season.

Emery came in with us and focused on improving the players he had.

O'Neill chose to leave. He also had the biggest budget in the league for a while, which has never been the case at West Ham.

Anyway, with Brentford and Chelsea failing to make Europe, I noticed we beat all the European teams (that have qualified by league position) at home, which is pretty impressive. Doubt we have done that before, ever.

I don’t think you can blame the managers for WHAM!’s recruitment strategy. What the manager wants is less important than what Sullivan wants, and the most important thing is getting a deal on the cheap.
