They were found guilty of spying against two league teams who had proof the guy was also there, and the Boro play-offs. Whilst I stated I can't believe those were the only ones, the punishment is only on the proven ones. Lovejoy, who initially thought there was nothing wrong with what they did, now wants either Millwall or Wrexham to play matches again for some arbituary (and really stupid) reasons.
The original post was when this was a bloke taking photos from behind a tree. If that was it I would still say it was just a fine similar to when Leeds did the same thing.
But the fact pattern has moved on since then and so has my view. You point out my evolving perspective as if it is a bad thing. It is important that people continually process facts as they become available when forming conclusions and your posts, in criticising this, suggests you don't do it. Well try it you will be a more rounded and less argumentative individual.
On the Wrexham point specifically, rather than being arbitrary I am simply extending the logic of the findings. You are within your rights to think they are stupid, if logic isn't your thing. The EFL said Southampton were banned from the playoffs and Southampton admitted to 3 instances which we are aware of of cheating. As even you state above, it would be astonishing if there were just 3 instances. So the logic of excluding them from the play offs would mean the next team down would step up and also that it isn't just Boro who have been offended against but their other peers at the top of the table. I do not understand why the beneficiary of the penalty should be restricted to Boro. it seems they are trying to fit a solution into a short timeframe for the benefit of tv scheduling rather than coming to a fair and balanced solution.
