They absolutely had to go strong with any potential punishment. A fine would have been pointless with the money involved in getting promoted, and a mere points deduction equally pointless as if Southampton got promoted, there was nothing forcing the PL to carry a deduction over

Apparently they also did it in the match against Oxford. In my unbiased opinion, Oxford should be reinstated and West Brom relegated.

I'm not sure anything will help with the appeal but you never know.

Southampton had admitted to "multiple breaches of EFL regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other clubs' training", the EFL said.

Not just Middlesboro but loads as mentioned in one of the papers last week. They might mention the Leeds punishment as precendent but Leeds was charged only under a generic rule last time where this one is a specific one banning the actions they did multiple times.

Chelsea admit cheating and deception, buy loads of players and win 7 trophies because of it and get NO SPORTING SANCTIONS and a £10m fine. Not only sporting sanctions for Soton but potential loss of £150m. One rule for the top clubs and one for everybody else.I'm sure their spying didn't influence the result unlike the VAR decisions for,Arsenal, Man U and Celtic. No doubt 115's punishment will be smaller than the £150M Southampton have foregone, if anybody ever gets round to looking at it. HS2 will be up and running before those clowns are dealt with..
