Johnson's pen was awful.

He should never have hired Diana Ross as his penalty coach.

Feel bad for my younger Irish colleagues who barely remember the 2002 WC. Maybe we can have our own version with Wales, Norn Iron and the Island of Reunion.

Is that how long it has been? Jesus. That hadn't registered at all. Thought Ireland had been decent more recently than that.

Went to the Euros in both 2012 and 2016 so you may be thinking of them.

Yeah, I think the Euros appearances have covered their tracks.

It is for the World Cup. We were at the Euros in 2012 and 2016 during the glory years of Trapattoni and MON.

I take it they’ve pulled the old La Paz trick, which they’re very entitled to do?

Kosovo beating Slovakia is a major shock. Didn't expect that.

With both Irelands out I'm going to have to support Scotland. More to annoy my Scottish missus than anything else.

Bolivia have turned it around, 2-1.

Lamare Bogarde's brother was playing for Suriname.

Fucking hell.

Awful last 3 pens as BV said but I thought the attitude in the 2nd half was just too passive and invited a poor opposition on.

There will be less colour in the USA in the summer.

Don't think we ever had control of the game even 2-0 up, helter skelter stuff from both teams. Couldn't get Azaz and Parrott into the game enough.

Shouldn't we have a proper thread for our game with Elche instead iof passing interest as if its another third-party club in this thread?

I assumed that Unai and the non-internationals were given the week odd til my social media feed showed pictures of el Mister coaching in the sun. What a guy.

Agreed, I have never seen a game so frantic and frenetic.

It was there for the taking by Ireland but they lacked composure and control.
