With both Irelands out I'm going to have to support Scotland. More to annoy my Scottish missus than anything else.

On the contrary, she's looking forward to the 'Archie Gemmill' moment.

The Bosnia No 19 looks a fine player, 18vyears old, plays in the Bundesliga.

I’ve only been watching since 75 minutes and agree, he looks class

Alajbegovic.

Think I read that he plays for Salzburg.  Can't recall him playing against us?

Nor can I, but he did. Made an assist for their second goal. Subbed after 73 minuted. On the evidence of last night, we should look at him closely.

Jamaica narrowly New Caledonia 1-0 to progress to the play-off final against DR Congo. Bailey was only a substitute, with the starting midfield and forwards consisting of Championship players; he did come on for 25 minutes.

Bolivia have turned it around, 2-1.

I take it they’ve pulled the old La Paz trick, which they’re very entitled to do?

Fucking hell.

Awful last 3 pens as BV said but I thought the attitude in the 2nd half was just too passive and invited a poor opposition on.

There will be less colour in the USA in the summer.

Don't think we ever had control of the game even 2-0 up, helter skelter stuff from both teams. Couldn't get Azaz and Parrott into the game enough.

Agreed, I have never seen a game so frantic and frenetic.

It was there for the taking by Ireland but they lacked composure and control.

Thought the Everton duo at the back in particular were horrendous in possession. Coleman won't be criticised but thought he was setting the wrong kind of example. Should have been replaced long before the end.

Molumby did well in midfield but back 5 kept hitting diagonals. Worked a bit early on but you aren't going to get our only two footballers into the game that way. In hindsight Azaz should have been moved into the centre of the park like in Hungary. Browne offered nothing off the bench.

Was Browne the lad who was absolutely shitting bricks before his penalty and delivered a kick of corresponding quality?

Yep, missed one in a previous shoot out too. He hasn't been involved with national team for a while so strange first sub instead of Jason Knight.

Fikayo Tomori is in line to start for England in Friday's friendly against Uruguay, with John Stones an injury doubt.

AC Milan defender Tomori, 28, is on standby to start at Wembley in England's penultimate game before Thomas Tuchel selects his squad for the World Cup.

Stones has a calf injury which was still being assessed on Friday.

Konsa and Tomori or Tomori and someone else?

Tomori and someone else - Konsa is one of the eleven who has been given the first week off while Tuchel looks at fringe players.

I like Trafford. Looks a good keeper. Seems a decent kid. Wouldn't be upset if that's what Villa's future looks like.

That looked to be dangerous play by Madueke that seems to have caused a serious injury. Being entirely overlooked by the TV coverage.
