In fairness to Carrick to beat Man City and Arsenal in back to back games is pretty good.

They've looked good doing it as well. Hopefully that stops sharpish.

Just shows how crap and out of his depth Amorim was.

Didn’t solskyaer have a few good results at the start of his caretaker stint? Same as Ten Hag, great results followed up with dross.

That said Cunha and Mbeumo are two decent players and will cause teams problems.

Solskjær was doing alright until they foisted Ronaldo on him. Was pleased with that yesterday but slightly unnerved that they played a bit like us, with Fernandes and Cunha in the 'two no10s', and indeed thought only we score those kind of goals this season.

So at least in Carrick, we've identified Emery's natural successor when his time with us ends.

I think a bit like us at Arsenal a couple of seasons back, there was a nervousness in the crowd that found its way to the players. Man United sensed that I think and took advantage of it. That first half was beyond awful standard wise. Arteta should have made changes at the break to try and address how flat they were. Jesus and Gyokeres were abysmal. Some of the tactical changes Carrick has made were obvious really. Moving Fernandes higher up the pitch is key. Not getting walked through like they were under Amorim.

Just flicked on Sky Sports assuming it might all be about Villa and Emery to be greeted with some pundit putting forward ManU as possible title challengers. I blame myself for wanting a ManU win yesterday.

Arteta made three changes on 58'.Made no difference.

Four wasn't it but that was after Arsenal had fallen behind. Might have made no difference but always think it's better to make changes from a position of relative strength. Four subs after Man United scored reeked of desperation.

Although I will state ManU are riding their referees agreement a bit as well. Dalot should have gone last week at 0-0 and 50p head could easily have given away a penalty this week.

I know it’s Man U but where was Maguire supposed to put his arm when he’s falling over, would have been harsh to give that.

Agreed, not a penalty for me. The fact that it was against Arsenal may have swayed me a bit.

I thought the screamer from Dorgu should have been VAR-out.  My understanding is any handball - even accidental - that directly leads to a goal should be chalked off.  Have they changed that directive?

Over the two matches they’ve got three big 50/50 calls in their favour.  Not claiming its a conspiracy but that sort of luck is enough to caterpault you forward.

VAR stated it was inconclusive on whether it was handball or not so VAR had to go with the onfield decision.I have to admit I couldn't tell if it was hip or arm either so if you think it was arm, good for you.

As for the Maguire handball, I did state "could" as I have seen those given and not given. Again if the ref had called it on field, VAR wouldn't have overruled it. However studs on knee by Dalot was definitely a red card with even Dermot "Stick together with the brotherhood" Gallacher calling it one in his review programme.
