A club in Wales' third tier have suspended one of their players and say police are investigating after an incident during a match on Saturday.

Trearddur Bay say Tom Taylor has been suspended with immediate effect after appearing to elbow a Porthmadog FC player in the face.

The alleged incident occurred during the Ardal North West League contest between the amateur sides on 17 January.

Footage that has been circulated on social media appears to show Taylor elbowing a Porthmadog player in the face during the fixture at Y Traeth (The Beach) stadium in Gwynedd.

"Trearddur Bay FC wish to confirm that it has suspended Tom Taylor from immediate effect following an incident between TBFC and Porthmadog FC yesterday," a club statement read.

"As the matter is subject to a police investigation the club will not be making any further comment at this stage."

They went to add that "the club in no way condones the use of unlawful behaviour by its staff or players".

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) confirmed to BBC Sport Wales it was looking into the matter.

A statement read: "Tier three matches fall under the jurisdiction of the FAW. The FAW is aware of the incident and will be reviewing it."

Match data shows referee Richard Gwyn Edwards did not issue any red cards during the contest, which was won 3-2 by hosts Porthmadog.

Trearddur Bay and North Wales Police have been contacted for comment.

Malen scores for Roma

He’s got 2 now!

Edit. LiveScore has corrected it now. Dybala apparently.

But 'he's not a centre forward or a winger', what is this sorcery?

He's playing in a 3-4-3, it's very different to playing as a wide man or up top in our formation.

He's also doing it against Torino, who'd be relegated from the PL. I wish him well but he hardly just tore PSG apart.

Yes, he hasn't scored against a Premier League team since, erm, the last time he played one. In any case, I don't think anyone is saying we should never have considered moving him on if the deal was good for us (and preferably for him, too). Moving him on without a replacement was demonstrably a shit idea, though.

We basically win all our games when we have a strong bench and often lose when we have a weak one. You can't help injuries. You can avoid deliberately weakening yourselves though, as we have done.

Edit: hang on Buendia scored against Tottenham, not Malen. Ignore the first sentence of my diatribe. 😁

Again though, if we have someone lined up that is better but we had to sell Malen first because of the rules then we didn't have much choice. If we don't bring anyone in then it does indeed look a very shit decision. I'm just waiting to see how it all plays out before worrying about it.

Just switched it on.
Have Senegal walked off in protest at the decision?

It is already in the process of playing out. We just lost a match we may well had won had we not chosen to fuck ourselves over.

Back on now, but yes. They also had a goal wrongly disallowed beforehand for a "push".

Penalty saved. Haha!

The most pathetic panenka ever, he basically chipped it to the keeper.
