Realistically, we are not going to finish above Arsenal or Man City, but we should be hoping and indeed expecting to finish third and at worst fourth. All things considered, with us on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat, the entire round of fixtures has actually gone pretty well for us.  We're still 9 points clear of 6th, and 6 points clear of 4th.  That's a pretty decent position to be in as we head into 2026.

Yes, while we’re accumulating points in December, I was thinking a lot about the buffer we were building in readiness for the likely blip of the Manure, Chelsea and Arse games. Didn’t turn out to be much of a blip really.
