They spent loads in the summer and have gone backwards. I don’t think they will give Slot much more.
Realistically, we are not going to finish above Arsenal or Man City, but we should be hoping and indeed expecting to finish third and at worst fourth. That being the case, and given that we have played Arsenal twice already, and do not play Man City again until the last game of the season, by which time our league position should have been determined, I reckon it suits us for both Arsenal and Man City to keep firing on all cylinders and, in doing so, carry on needing to beat our other closest rivals in alĺ their games against them.

This is all sound and logical, but while we sit two points behind Man City, I'm going to keep hoping they lose.
At the point the gap gets to 6+ points, I'm on board for the plan above.
Fuck that, Man Citeh are ******

It's a no from me, sorry.
Sunderland have played well so far, so expect some sort of jammy deflection off a Foden mis hit in the 2nd half.
We can still absolutely win the league.
MC aren't good enough. Arsenal are weak as piss. They aren't mentally strong enough.
That leaves us.
Trust me.
All things considered, with us on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat, the entire round of fixtures has actually gone pretty well for us. We're still 9 points clear of 6th, and 6 points clear of 4th. That's a pretty decent position to be in as we head into 2026.
Happy New Year all!

Nah too early in the season for this kind of logic. Want them both to not win
Watched first half of Brent/spurs. The most awful half totally lacking in any quality whatsoever.

Yes, while we’re accumulating points in December, I was thinking a lot about the buffer we were building in readiness for the likely blip of the Manure, Chelsea and Arse games. Didn’t turn out to be much of a blip really.
If we to the stage this season where we're worried Sunderland will catch us then things will have gone to utter shit.
